After the latest update of Windows 10, whenever I turn on or off the CAPS LOCK, the NUM LOCK and SCROLL LOCK, I get an annoying notification saying their on or off. How do I make this notification away?
Seems it was a process that came with the HP mouse I bought.
I am upgrading to Windows 10 but I don't have the status of it on my device. How do I know how much longer my upgrade has to go?

View 6 RepliesI am using hp 14-r029tx and windows 10 pro. The problem is, I have my wifi on. But the airplane mode status shows activated which means airplane mode is on. If my wifi is on then how come airplane mode is also on? Sometimes wifi takes too much time to load and sometimes have to reboot also. my wifi adapter is QUALCOMM Atheros qca 9565 with Bluetooth.

At the log on screen Num Lock was always off.
1. Checked the BIOS settings:
Ensured that the NumLock status in the BIOS was set to enabled
2. Modified the registry a few times
Key: HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTControl PanelKeyboard
I set the String Value: InitialKeyboardIndicators
to 2
then I tried 80000002
then I tried 2147483650
So I have partial success, where NumLock is enabled after a restart, but it is not enabled after a cold-boot.
When I boot into win 10 I get a black screen that says:
Windows Failed to start
Status: 0xc000000f
When I boot to a Win 10 Install disk I select:
English, next
Repair your computer
Troubleshoot
Advanced options
Startup Repair
It says it's Diagnosing problems
Attempting repairs
Startup Repair couldn't repair your PC.
What can I do to fix the boot up problem?
I tried the registry fix that worked last time on Windows 7 to fix this issue of custom icons not automatically changing, but apparently it cropped up again in Windows 10, and is also not fixable via adding the ",0" to the end of the registry entry.

View 1 RepliesEver since I installed Windows 10 some of my devices will suddenly get errors and stop working until reboot or the driver will completely disappear (also goes comes back to normal after restarting).
These are the devices that I've had trouble with:b
- Touch Screen (HID-compilant touch screen) [Disappears]
- USB Ports [Gets Error 43]
- Bluetooth [Disappears]
- Unknown Device (Not sure what this is) ["Drivers not installed." Error 28.]
They all start having trouble at the same time, it's instantaneous and there is no other indicator for it other than the "Device Plug Out" sound. I've tried looking for new drivers with the Windows wizard, uninstalling and then selecting "Look for Hardware Changes" , and rebooting--which, as I've mentioned before, temporarily fixes this.
I've found topics exclusively for the USB Ports error, and the rest just seem to be fixed by everyone through reboot, but I want a permanent solution. Otherwise I'll consider going back to Windows 7 or just leave Windows altogether.
Does the new Maps app being built for the phone and PC features voice turn-by-turn navigation? I know the current Maps app does not. You need to use Here Drive or another third party app for voice navigation.
View 1 RepliesI am having problems with me Mouse and key board, on boot up they will turn on for about 20 seconds then turn off. Then a error comes up,inaccessible_ boot_drive. But if I restart my pc the mouse and keyboard will do the same thing but instead of the error I get, choose keyboard layout, and a list of options but I cant choose them because the mouse isn't working. This all started happening after I upgraded my power supple but I when I put my old power supple in I had the same problem. I have windows 10and I have tried using different keyboards and different usb ports.
View 1 RepliesI am set up to start up without having to log in. but every time I start the laptop after about 5-10 minutes I get a notification asking me to 'click here to enter your most recent credentials, your microsoft account needs you to sign in again. If I click as it asks it takes me to Settings - mail and accounts which reveal that I am signed in. It makes no difference to my mail account whether i click or not as I can access the mail app and the store and anything else that needs a Microsoft account without problem. I am assuming that an update a few weeks ago caused this. It has no effect on the machine and if I click the notification and get the settings page all I have to do is close the settings app and the notification goes away until the next time I start up.
View 11 RepliesFor me, the notifications on my desktop only show mails, system notifications and nothing else. No other app uses the notification system, while they could (for example skype, viber, games and so on).The notification system is another failing feature or we hope to be improved?
And secondly is the expand button, where you can press the little arrow and it will show you 50 more characters of the message/mail you got. it is obvious that this doesn't work, if you have used it you know: if it is an email, you want to read it all, or you want to mark it as read, or you want to reply, but you cannot do it through the expand button, so it is useless. On w10m you can answer an SMS from the notification bar after pressing the expand button, which is great! But why not any other app uses that feature? Is the expand button another failing feature or we hope to be improved and used by other apps??
Just noticed my notification icon has changed and now has a little minus sign in the bottom right corner of it. What does this mean? I have most app notifications set to "on" only mail and onedrive are selected to be off.

View 9 RepliesI have a desktop PC (see specs) that is persistently giving two different notification sounds but not showing a banner in the notification area to tell me what is warning/notifying me of. I think I have determined what events are being triggered by changing each notification sound in turn to a distinctive chime that is not used elsewhere. The two events concerned are "Device Connect" and "Device Disconnect". Strangely I seem to receive many more disconnect notifications than connects.
The sounds spoil my enjoyment when listening to music or watching movies etc. Obviously I can switch the sounds off by selecting "none" as the sound to play with these events but, just as obviously, I would like to know what is constantly connecting and/or disconnecting.
I am connected to a home network but I'm connected via ethernet cable and am not attaching or detaching any other equipment when the sounds occur. I'm a bit worried that I'm being scanned over the internet but I'm connected via a cable modem/router. Is there any way to show the reason for these notifications?
BTW, I'm using Windows Defender and Firewall together with the paid version of Malwarebytes.
I reserved Windows 10 upgrade in July. App shows that computer is compatible. It is near the end of Nov. and no notification to install. Should the Threshold 2 update allow me to install Windows 10? Everyone around me seems to have gotten the notice to install the upgrade but me.

Since last few days, I am not getting the notifications(visual or sound) of received sms and some other apps like Mail. I Searched for the problem in My setting, and I came up with this. I found in my notifications, Microsoft is organizing my settings. As you can see in the pics below, I am unable to change the settings. I am on insider.
