Jun 17, 2015Many of the Universal Apps cannot be uninstalled because the button is inactive (grayed out). This might be 'by design' for the Technical Preview since Microsoft wants users to test the Apps.
The preferred method is to use the uninstall button when it is active. The list below provides a way to uninstall an App when the button is NOT active.
Launch an elevated PowerShell (Right click - Run as Administrator ...)
Copy the command for the App you want to remove from the list below and paste it into the PowerShell window
Example:
To remove the Calculator App, copy the entire line under the App name

Remove-AppxPackage -Confirm -Package Microsoft.WindowsCalculator_10.1505.29000.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
The -Confirm parameter lets you to decide if you want to remove the App [ Yes ] or cancel the operation [ No ]

Aug 7, 2015ok, got a buddy in the uk who upgraded to 10, now he wants to remove microsoft office 03 as its barely compatible with 10 and he wants to grab a more recent version of office. small problem. he cant figure out how to uninstall it. the usual suspects for enabling an uninstall dont appear to show the program. I've directed him to tutorial Apps - Uninstall in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums and suggested option 4. he's currently told me both hdd's and the ssd all have a folder called microsoft office. he's unsure whats what.
edit: for clarification, the SSD is the drive that has the operating system installed to it. one hdd holds installed games, the other gets everything else.

I'm talking about things like Xbox, Weather, Phone Companion, News, Movies & TV, Money, and all their friends. The start menu only offers an option to unpin them, while the Apps & features tab in the Settings has the "uninstall" option grayed out.
Now, I refuse to believe that things like Xbox or Movies & TV are crucially important for the OS to run. Why then it is so hard to remove them?

I keep getting messages about dell backup and recovery not being compatible with this version of Windows (Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.11). Mar 20, 2015After updating to build 10041, it broke my xbox music, video and also the Netflix app. I was able to uninstall and reinstall the Netflix app which made it work again, however since xbox apps are part of the core, I can't just uninstall. Any way to delete them?
I was able to get into the windows app folder in the program files directory but still couldn't edit my permissions to allow me to delete it.

Troubleshooting shows that a solution maybe to reinstall 2 drivers from Realtek and NVidia.
