Dec 2, 2015Is it possible to enable Hybrid Sleep in Windows 10? This is what WIkipedia says in the article about Sleep mode:
Sleep mode and hibernation can be combined: the contents of RAM are first copied to non-volatile storage like for regular hibernation, but then, instead of powering down, the computer enters sleep mode. This approach combines the benefits of sleep mode and hibernation: The machine can resume instantaneously, but it can also be powered down completely (e.g. due to loss of power) without loss of data, because it is already effectively in a state of hibernation. This mode is called "hybrid sleep" in Microsoft Windows other than Windows XP.
It's not the same as Fast Startup, because this is basically a stripped-down variant of hibernation as described in the original post. I can't find the option to enable Hybrid Sleep anywhere.
Hibernation And Hybrid Sleep Causing PC To Crash On Waking Up
Aug 17, 2015I had this problem when Windows 8 was new (but never had it with 8.1) and now it looks like it is back with W10.
My PC was fine up until about 2 days ago, it would go into hybrid sleep and wake with no problems but now every time I try to wake my PC the LED's, mouse and keyboard turn on but then it crashes and reboots.
I tried re-installing drivers, un-installed them, downloading them from the manufacturers websites instead of windows update but the problem remains.
I think I've narrowed down where the problem comes from and it appears to be the hybrid sleep option, disabling it and just using sleep works as expected, but if I try to use hybrid sleep....boom it happens again. I also tried enabling hibernation and that also crashes when waking up, so I assume there is a problem with the hibernation feature.

it will no longer fully shut down. Having encountered this issue when I first upgraded to 10 I went to turn off hybrid sleep, and the option is currently disabled on the device. However, the only way to fully shut it down is to hold the power button till it shuts off.
Is there any way to fix this? I'd rather not have to unplug everything every time I shut it off just so the lights won't keep me awake.
Size Of Content Is Bigger Than Actual App Window Size In Modern Apps
Apr 5, 2015Experiencing problem with the modern apps, where the content of the app is bigger than the actual app window, so it is impossible to use it, because the controls (buttons, input fields, scrollbars are not visible)?
Resizing of the app does not work, as the content is still bigger (its wrongly resizing with the window). Even maximized app is still unusable.
It occurs mainly in the Skype, Mail, People or Calendar apps. As you can see on the Skype screenshot, as soon as app starts it shifts the skype logo to the right, and the whole content is shifted as well.
You can also see the shift bellow, as the Options menu is partially hidden as well.
Skype is impossible to use, because the text input field on bottom is not visible.

Jan 13, 2016My 32GB Windows 10 Home PC (recently upgraded from 8.1) is low on disk space. I deleted Windows.old and I have hibernation disabled. Apart from a few browsers, very little else is installed, yet I only have 11.7GB left?
One reason may be the size of the Windows folder:
Size 14.7GB
Size on Disk 9.91GB
From my calculations, Windows appears to be using the higher figure in determining available disk space.
Why is 'Size' so much greater than 'Size on Disk', can I do anything about it? I have a similar 8.1 machine, it does not have this disparity (12.4GB and 12.3GB).
What would be a normal 'Size' for a Windows folder on Windows 10 Home PC very recently upgraded from 8.1 i.e. with few, if any Windows live updates run ?
Display / Folder Size And Text Size Changes?
Dec 29, 2015I am having repeated problems with text and folders sizes. I had set them up to suit me a while ago, but every now and then they change, apparently by themselves - perhaps after an upgrade? I certainly don't remember making any changes myself.
At the moment the folders I have on my home screen are very small and bunched up into the top left hand corner of the screen. And the text labels to the folders are almost too small for my tired old eyes to read.
How do I get the folders to be bigger, the same size as I had them in Windows 7? And how to I get the text labels to be the same size as they were before? I already have text size set to 175%.
Also, when I open a folder or list contents in some programs the text looks fainter than it should, and has a strange look to it - certainly not the same as when I was running Windows 7; it's much poorer.

Aug 22, 2015I have been having problems with bsods, and I found out it is kernel power 41. Here are my specs
4690k stock
980ti evga acx+
1000w evga supernova g2
z-97 a asus
cooler master 212 evo
Windows 10 operating system (legit)
temps never go over 70 for cpu and 80 for gpu
Happens after 2-4 hours of playing intensive games (GTA V, Battlefield 4, etc.)
tried sfc /scannow, no errors. I also reverted all my bios settings.
I think I have a driver problem.
NT System And Kernel Taking 60% Memory
Aug 22, 2015Since I have installed Windows 10 on my laptop there has been a significant amount of increase in RAM usage. Main contribution to it is coming from NT system and kernel, which is using around 60% of the memory. Is there any fix for it. I cannot use anything apart from Chrome, otherwise memory usage reaches the maximum limit.

Jan 18, 2016So, I built my grandparents a computer and they upgraded to windows 10. now they keep getting the error message "Kernel Security Check Failure" then the computer reboots. I was told I should upgrade drivers as since it is a custom computer it can't do it itself during the upgrade. Is this the right thing to do. I also download their motherboard drivers and it comes in an all in one package from AsRock. I can only do this over facetime which is hard because they aren't the best with tech. They run setup and it installs AMD catalyst then finish's install which doesn't make sense as the download package is 550MB large.

BSOD :: Kernel Security Check Failure After Using WMP
Jan 11, 2016Yesterday i upgraded my 8.1 to 10. The first time is still smooth but suddenly after i installed all the driver my laptop needs, when i play a song using WMP and turned the 'repeat all' option, my laptop gone to BSOD.
I tried to read the Minidump file using WinDbg but it needs to download the symbol pack, unfortunately my internet connection is very slow.
My laptop BSOD again after using WMP (playing a song) and Photoshop CS6... BSOD again after that because I Used Photoshop.
Performance :: NT Kernel And System High RAM Usage
Jan 25, 2016Here is my laptop specification:
- HP Pavilion g4
- Intel Core i3 2.2 GHz
- Radeon 6470m (but somehow got 7400 driver and worked) plus Intel HD 3000
- Windows 10 of course
- 2 gigs ram
- And latest drivers, checked with Uniblue's driverscanner and link on other subforum stickies.
It's high memory usage of this process, it starts with ~7mb then grows up to ~200mb on heavy use. This happen with recently windows 10 update.
What I have done is, I do a restart every time I made these changes:
- SFC /scannow
- Update driver (again)
- Turn windows 10 tips off
- Try disable Superfetch
- Malwarebytes scan
- Disabling High Definition Audio driver drops the process usage to normal 28kb, but this somehow rise again to ~100mb.
Unexplained PC Reboot (Kernel-Power 41 (63) Error)
Jan 8, 2016My PC will randomly reboot when in the middle of any video game. It has not happened while I am not in a game (from what I can remember). It goes to a straight black screen, so no BSOD.
My CPU is running no hotter than 45 Celsius. It has only happened after being ran for 2 hours or more. There is NO error message upon shutdown/reboot, and I also ran a virus scan with MalwareBytes and found nothing. Event Viewer shows the "Kernel-Power 41 (63)" error.
After the reboot, it goes to my lock screen with no error message. It also loads everything on my desktop/taskbar abnormally slow.
The only thing new before the issue:
-Gigabyte Gaming 7 Motherboard
-Intel i7 4790k
-NZXT Phantom 530 (Case)
-Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (CPU Cooler)
My PC Specs are as follows:

Dec 7, 2015I have a custom PC build and I have experienced 3 BSOD over the past maybe 2 months all being "UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP. I have done some "research" (by that I mean googling) and lots of people say its Drivers. My system is fairly new (<1year). But I tested the memory when I got it with memtest and being DDR3 it failed the hammer test which most people say do not worry about. I have had some trouble once due to a weird error while installing an NVIDIA driver.

I've seen this BSOD a few times on this laptop. It's probably a driver issue but need identifying which ones are causing the issues.
And before you ask about the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 drivers, those from MSI have constant disconnects and barely work. Latest and most uptodate drives straight from Intel do not have any noticeable issues other than a couple of odd logs that pop up from time to time (Netwtw02). I am trying to talk with MSI on this.
BSOD :: Kernel Security Fail Check
Sep 8, 2015I'm not trying to be curt, but I have about 2 minutes until this thing crashes. I have an old Dell, a new, clean Windows 10 Install and an intermittent and annoying problem. 3 hours is probably the longest the machine has run without a BSOD. I get a 5 hour loop at least once a week on startup. I'm at my wits end.

Nov 7, 2015I've had several different error messages, but non of them are followed with any specifications about where the error is being generated. In chronological order:
Kernel Failure security check (Two times at random moments, until I tried to fix it, then the next errors at startup)
System Service exception
System Thread excetion not handled
Kmode exception not handled
The last two are now being displayed alternately every time I start the computer, until the advanced startup kicks in. I've been trying every step I founded online and it hasn't worked. I checked for errors in the memory and drives, and also runned a complete antivirus scan and a malware scan (Panda Free Anivirus 2016 and Malwarebytes), everything came out clean.
I am guessing that's something to do with faulty or corrupt drivers, since it works fine when is started on Safe Mode. Safe mode with Network, for some reason, won't enable the WiFi, and I don't have any other way to connect to the internet, so I can't let it check the drivers on it's own. I have tried downloading all the drivers in Acer's oficial page, but some are the same version or older than the ones I have installed. Others won't let me install them because the Windows Installer services is not enabled.
I have tried to repairing the installation and restarting it, but it throws an error message and does nothing. The next step for me it would be to return it to factory with windows 8.1, but I don't want to ignore an error that could appear again in the future, or that could get worse.
I have bought this laptop less than a month ago.

BSOD :: Kernel Security Check Failure Most Of Time
Nov 19, 2015I have updated the files for the BSOD logs. It is a Kernal_Security_Check_Failure about 99% of the time. Sometimes they will happen when I launch a game, when I start playing music, or even when I am away from the computer without anything running. I am unaware of any connection to them. They happen between 5-10 times a day, and it is VERY annoying.... (updated again[and again][and again])

BSOD :: Commonly Getting Kernel Security Check Failure
Dec 4, 2015So far I've been getting a number of different BSODs most commonly Kernel security check failure. After having read a number of different threads on the matter I have tried the following
Memtest did 10 passes and got 0 errors
updated all of the driver displayed on device manager using windows update (I know for a fact that there is a slightly newer version for my GPU)
Used ccleaner to repair registry
Also did a clean install of windows 10
not sure what to try next here are the dump files

BSOD :: Kernel Security Check Failure After Upgrade
Nov 12, 2015Just got a call from home that my computer upgraded Windows 10 (today's big update/upgrade).And when they tried to switch it off stopped at this BSOD (0x0000139 or something) and "Kernel Security Check Failure".The system had 0 problems from the first Insider build till now.The minidump file can't even be debugged in Windbg (emailed it to a friend in IT) because there are no Symbols from MS jet.
HDD is fine so is Memory (we did a check 1 week ago).Will try to upload what I need in a zip by the instruction here but can't do that for few days because I'm not at home. aybe Windows updated some drivers on / after the update?
