Since the start of the program that i've been an insider, but after updating to the RTM build I'm unable to see new builds in Windows Update.
I was in the Fast Ring and updates were no where to found. I left the program, made me an insider again and still not receiving updates. What should be the problem?
I'm on build 10525, I am enrolled for Fast insider builds yet build 10532 isn't showing.
I've already tried the steps at [URL] ....
I have Win 10 preview build 10240 and up to date.I want to continue as windows insider, but I want to update to the final version, So if I wanted to remain as an insider, should I upgrade to the final version and connect it with my insider account or stay with my current build 10240....
View 1 RepliesI have been successfully updating as a Insider Win 10 since Oct 2014 with no problems. I recently did a clean install of build 11102 and it seems ok. A few slow downs and hangs but generally ok. Recently I received notification from MS that build 14257 was available for download. I downloaded the file as always and it went through the usual prep and getting ready etc. When it rebooted to start the install I get a screen asking me to "Choose your Keyboard L/O" I choose United States and then it reverts back to "Choose an Option" I choose "continue & Exit to Win 10" and it boots back into my build 11102. I've tried this three or four times with the same result. I have downloaded and run the MS Fit-It for upgrades to no avail. I have tried using a Local account, still does the same thing. I created an ISO TechNet and it does the same thing when trying to do a clean install. I have run DISM and SFC /scannow
View 9 RepliesI've been part of the insider build progragrame for about 3 months before windows 10 was released. Ive been updating my builds regularly but unfortunately just before the full windows was release i went on a trip and Ive come back today. I don't know how to get the full windows and get out of the insider builds programe.
View 1 RepliesMy motherboard died, and I had to get a new one. I bought the same model. The rest of hardware on my PC remained the same. After that upgrade my Windows 10 isn't activated any more.
I don't have Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 licence, but I am early Windows 10 Insider, and I recieved free Insider builds. They had expiration date, so I had to keep ugrading to new builds, and stay in the Insider program to retain my free "licence". I was doing so, and I provided feedback to Microsoft about every build.
I was hoping that "minor" hardware change wouldn't affect my Windows 10 activation, because all Insiders should have free "licence" that is tied to my Microsoft e-mail account?
Now my Windows 10 Insider 10586 build isn't activated. How can I activate it? Shouldn't all Insider versions be free? Should I sign for Windows Insider program all over again?
So, recently (after the November build release) I woke the next morning to find that my computer underwent a rather major update. After which, it seemed, my home network was thrown out of wack. I immediately rolled/reverted/recovered to previous build. But now everything is out of wack. Most of the time I have to restart my computer just so it'll communicate with my printer to start printing.
And restarting the computer is twice as long if it restarts at all. Most of the time It gets stuck in the "restart" progress animates (the rotating circles) and I have to press the restart button on the computer tower, with great regret and dread. Transferring files from one windows 10 device to another is a 50/50 hit or miss. I'm not literate when it comes to networking and was super happy how everything was.
But now, not only is my wifi home network out of wack, but my computer itself is wonky. I figure I might as well reinstall the newest build in hopes that it'll at least fix a fe of the problems. But anytime I check for updates, the newest build no longer shows up.
So i currently have windows 10, build 10162, and i like the OS X, especially since i do video editing, and i love the workflow. The problem is, everything on my PC is optimized for windows, and some things wouldnt work on a mac, and i didnt want to spend the money on a mac. I know its possible to dualboot some OS's so i want to know if theres a way i can just add an OS to my current pc. I have an extra HDD that i could put it on. And i want to put Yosemite on it, and i also have an intel CPU, nvidia card, which i believe is necessary for a hackintosh.

View 1 RepliesI am planning on installing Windows 10, and I'am thinking of doing a clean install. So my question is if I create a system image of my current OS i.e. Win 8.1 will I be able to restore it on Windows 10? Because I do not want to install every software again.
View 2 RepliesI am in the process of moving from Europe to Canada and because of the ridiculous cost of shipping a PC across the ocean I will only move some parts (leaving mobo, case, power supply). I thought I could carelessly put my old hard drive in a new mobo but after some research it's apparently not so simple.
Any way to escape buying windows again (and maybe even a new hard drive).
Relevant information?
current HDD: (1tb 7200rpm... seagate possibly?)
cpu: i7 4770
gpu: gtx 770 (2gb evga)
ram: (currently 2x4gb, will add two more 4gb)
possible new mobo: Asus Z87-Pro ATX LGA1150
possible new SSD: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

View 1 RepliesI'd like to get a 256gb SSD this week for my Win 10 install but keep all my games and large rendering files on my 1tb HDD. My games are all in their own folder C:/Games, can I simply move that folder onto the HDD (D:/Games) and be ok or will that cause problems (with registry entries perhaps?).
What's the best way of moving my OS from a 1TB HDD and splitting it up between that and the new, smaller SSD?
After using powershell to run a system scan and having it hang, I restarted my computer to sort it out and now I'm left with this info stuck on my screen.
View 4 RepliesI've got a new computer and I want to clone my old OS(windows 10) from my old hardrive to my new hardrive. I've read that it doesn't always work! Is this true? And is there any other ways round it?

Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client". I check the outlook option and it is set to outlook as a default program. I also went to default program in the control panel and that is also set to outlook. When I open a saved mail on m computer with an extension .msg it will get that error message.
View 2 RepliesIs there any way to find out what the current version number of Windows Mail and Calendar app is? I don't think mine is the most current and I have a bug that sometimes makes a New Event post to the previous day. How would I go about updating this app as I can't find a check for updates button or anything like that. BTW, I have version no. 17.6525.42271.0.
View 3 RepliesOn my HDD i have a Dual boot with Kali Linux and Windows 7, it boots with Grub boot loader. If i upgrade to windows 10 will it only effect my Windows 7 partition or my entire HDD(loosing my Linux partition)?
View 1 RepliesI have the following entries in my system start up:
Windows 10
Windows 10
Windows 7
How do I remove the last two entries so startup just shows one Windows 10 only or just boots right into Windows 10 without a start screen ?
Now the calendar just displays Microsoft's ugly icon in the calendar square. Used to be it would just have a number there. Like today it would have a 6 for Nov 6. I don't know how to do anything with the Start screen except Pin to it, remove items from it, rearrange items. I opened the calendar and looked at settings and saw nothing.
View 2 RepliesI am loving Windows 10 and I want to remove Windows XP from my dual-boot configuration (and remove the whole dual-boot thing completely) but it also acts as the system partition, so I guess it's not as straight-forward as I had hoped. Is there a way to make my Windows 10 partition the system partition?
View 1 RepliesCan you set the screen saver bubbles to draw over current background?, now when it comes on it has a solid background color? If you preview it shows over current background which is a picture.
View 9 RepliesI just got a new computer with Windows 10 (Jury's still out) and am trying to access my Buffalo external hard drive from it (i believe it is a NAS. It lists on my desktop as LS-CHLD2F). I disabled windows media player cause I don't want to access it through that (screws everything up). I also installed the Buffalo disc on the new computer but that didn't seem to solve anything. I would like it to show up in my network but just don't know how to get it there and obviously don't want to reformat my hard drive. I just want it to be seen. All of my work is on there and need to access it as is.
Update: I am now able to access it from the desktop but still isn't showing up when I go to File Explorer then Network. It is a Linkstation.
