Using Windows 10 ADK v1511, how do I capture an image directly by saving it in an esd file?
Also, how do I add an image volume, to an esd file?
When Windows 10 downloads a new build from Windows Update, how can I save the esd file to create an installation DVD running on each computer?

View 4 RepliesOk I am a bit stuck here as I need to save a very large csv file to a txt file that has a certain format for it to be used in another application as an import file, I will attach the sample csv files here
My sheet will look like this
And the saved txt file needs to look like this in this format with the first line reflecting the same headings as below.
In Windows 7 and 8, when I saved an Excel input.csv file to a master.csv file, it would just save.
Now in Windows 10, the Excel file opens up and has to be saved manually (file save as...).
Is there a way to get it to just save as it did in Windows 7 and 8, as opposed to having the file open up like that?
When I download a pdf file (A billing statement in this case), I would like to select "Save As" and be able to select the folder directly from one of the folders shown in Quick Access that is shown in File Explorer without having to rummage through all the folders on my three drives. Right now, "Save As" causes the folder selection to start with My PC. Is there an easy way for the list of folders in Quick Access to be displayed when I select "Save As" to save the file? Starting in My PC makes me go through the mess of finding the folder in which I want to save the file.

View 10 RepliesI tried Copying Windows 10 ISO image file to DVD many times with free ISO burner but It failed. If possible give me a link of any good iso burner and also tell me the steps to burn the file.

View 6 RepliesIn File Explorer I right-click a folder and select Properties. In the Customise tab, under Choose a file to show on this folder icon, I select Choose file. I navigate to my Pictures folder and select an image and then click on Apply and OK. And nothing happens, the folder is unchanged and has no picture on it.
View 1 RepliesOut of habit I ran SFC scan after finishing Win10 upgrade & Windows Updates and found out that MicrosoftEdgeSquare44x44.scale-125_contrast-white.png is corrupted. After a quick google search, seems there a few other Win10 users with the same problem.Neither SFC or DISM seem to be able to fix the problem.I also saw someone mention this is a 'false positive' hash mismatch but at least in my case the image really is corrupted (as in, if I open it in a image editor, it fails with corrupted image error). All other Edge images in the folder open correctly in image viewer.
how to repair systemapp files? I'm assuming DISM/SFC fail because the system apps seem to be different from regular system files (e.g. you cannot find them on the install media from what I can see).
Been trying M. Reflect free edition on a Dell Studio XPS 8000. I did as usual and created a boot rescue CD with the PE file with no problem. Then I continued to make an image of my boot disk C and save it on my hard drive D.
Went to D and the image is there. Next I booted with the restore disk without problems, but after choosing restore, I can't find the image that was created on the D hard drive. I noticed that the naming of the drives also has changed and as such I looked everywhere but I can't find the image and as such I can't restore.
So I used a AWESOME custom picture for my lockscreen. I look at it so much, I realized I wanted it as my desktop. Only one problem....I cant find the damn picture! Where I put it on my computer. Shouldn't windows be maintaining a copy of the file somewhere? WHAT CAN I DO?
View 1 RepliesI made a desktop background in 3ds max and its of a robot standing on the moon. The actual image I is about 10k by 6k so I converted it to 1080p because I was having the same problem with the larger image. When I set it as my desktop background it becomes blurry. The stars bleed out whiteness around into the black space. The textures and reflections just look like crap on the desktop image. But on the real image you can zoom in for miles and it is just fine. Why my desktop background looks worse quality than say an image viewer?
View 2 Replieslast few hours I spent trying to manually deploy Windows 10 on clean GPT disk but after applying image and rebooting I always end in unbootable state.
I manually setup drive like this:
Code:
select disk 0cleanconvert gptcreate partition primary size 350 #RE tools won't fit 300MB anymore :-)format quick fs ntfs label "Windows RE tools"assign letter tset id de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6acgpt attributes 0x8000000000000001create partition efi size 100format quick fs fat32 label Systemassign letter screate partition msr size 128create partition primary format quick fs ntfs label Windowsassign letter wlist volumeexit#no recovery image partition as per documentation it is no longer needed and followed by pretty common deployment:
Code:
dism /apply-image /imagefile:g:Sourcesinstall.wim /index:1 /applydir:w:dism /image:w: /set-Timezone:"Central Europe Standard Time"md T:RecoveryWindowsREattrib w:WindowsSystem32RecoveryWinre.wim -h -s -rcopy w:WindowsSystem32RecoveryWinre.wim T:RecoveryWindowsREwinre.wimbcdboot w:windows /s s: /f UEFIw:WindowsSystem32
eagentc /setreimage /path T:RecoveryWindowsRE /target w:Windows
After reboot I always end unbootable (as we talk Apple computer it means 1) no partition on Option or 2) folder with ? or 3) just gray screen, make your pick). There's a chance that Windows rely on some UEFI 2.0 feature, which is not available as the old guy has 1.2 only. Or maybe I missed some step somewhere.
I'm using Insider Preview 10166 on my Lumia 1020 and just noticed something. Default camera app does not capture raw and there is no Lumia Camera app in the store. In older versions of Insider Preview I could download Lumia Camera, but now it's not available. Is there any way to capture raw? It's the reason why I got L1020 in the first place, are they going to remove it?
View 24 RepliesI have several machine running Windows 7 Professional that I want to upgrade to Windows 10. Question is can I upgrade 1 machine add my other programs Office etc , take an image and then use that image to upgrade the other machines. Adding a new machine using Win7 image was easy, install the image changes the license number for Win7 & Office reboot and that was it.
View 5 RepliesI guess I'm getting old but somehow i've missed how to print or capture a page. I can find nothing that tells me about printing. I have the win 10 download from yesterday.
View 6 RepliesOk, here's the situation: I know how to use WINDOWS BUTTON + PrtScr to capture a screen image. However I would like to print/save an image where this won't work.
I'm trying to run an application I have downloaded (Samsung Allshare), but when I double click it my whole screen goes to a blank Windows screen with a single message box in the middle. This is a "User Account Control" message box. This is what I want to capture. However the "WINDOWS BUTTON + PrtScr" method doesn't seem work here (the only option here is to close this box and return to normal!), and because its an otherwise blank screen, I can't use Snipping Tool or other windows capture features.
I have a large tablet, but im struggling taking screenshots from my touchscreen, the win button plus down volume doesn't appear to work ?
View 2 RepliesI'm running Windows 10 on my hp aio desktop powered by Intel core i5, 4gb ram, NVIDIA GeForce 610 2gb. Problem is whenever I try to record clip hitting windows button+G it says it can't record only can capture screenshots. When I hit the system requirements page for recording clips in windows 10 all my system requirements do meet the given. Also my system is fully updated with all the drivers required.
View 3 Repliesi decided to reinstall everything starting with windows 7 then upgrading or using the free upgrade that i initialy used to get windows 10. but it seems that offer is no longer on the start menu bar task bar.
i have the img of windows 10 pro burned from media creation tool to a dvd.
can i use the dvd to simply just upgrade windows 7 to windows 10?
or do i need a serial key for windows 10?
i had some trouble with curse client and some audio stuttering in windows 10 when i used the free upgrade, but it didn't show until after i installed call of duty black ops III where it said i needed audio below 44000khz (sound blaster Z) to be able to open the game....... : and a bunch of bsod out of nowhere. i havent had a bsod on windows 7 for over a year so idk where that came from.
is there a upgrade function from the dvd (windows 10 pro; as in the free upgrade) or do i need a serial specifically for win 10?
Is it possible to restore a Windows 10 system image taken from a 60Gb SSD to a new 240gb SSD on the same computer?
I am thinking of using the windows 10 installation USB to boot then repair to recover the image onto the 240Gb SSD.
Would this work? Does partition size affect the new 240Gb SSD?
The system is already licenced for Windows 10 and nothing has changed other than the SSD volume size..
The VERY last resort is to install over again with all programs, tweaks, etc..but, I'd rather not.
How do I reinstall Windows 10 from a USB Disk Image
View 2 RepliesI am planning on installing Windows 10, and I'am thinking of doing a clean install. So my question is if I create a system image of my current OS i.e. Win 8.1 will I be able to restore it on Windows 10? Because I do not want to install every software again.
View 2 RepliesSecond device just got win10 logo in taskbar yesterday, but now windows says my hdd has bad sectors and I cannot access it properly. I have a saved Macrium image I made several days ago. Can I put it onto a new SSD and will my existing valid keys still work so that I can get the upgrade?
