Yesterday, I downloaded the Win 10 upgrade to a flash drive. My plan was to use it first on an older Win 7 computer that isn't used much. Then, if successful, I would do it on my husband's new Win 8.1. It seemed to take forever and I didn't even think it had downloaded to the drive. But it did, and after lots of time, the Win 7 has Win 10.
Problem is, in the midst of downloading, it said that the administrator had to be signed on to continue, so sign out and switch users. That was hard to figure out, but I did it and now I don't know if the download is complete. Can I unplug the flash drive? I think I'm also an administrator and should be as I'm the only one who uses it. Is there a way to check if it complete?
Other question: Can I use the same flash drive to upgrade the 8.1? I think it's 64 and the other is 32. Should I just erase the flash and download the upgrade again?

I'm writing this before having to do a complete wipeout of my system
Specs:
Lenovo Y510p
Hybrid HDD (Seagate) 1TB
m.2 SSD (Trascend) 256GB.
So, since build 9841 I've been using Windows 10 Insider Preview (IP) as my mainly driver. Until the recent redstone builds, Visual Studio has been plagued with problems (From Windows Universal Apps Development to ASP.NET) . I've installed Windows 10 IP in the SSD and have been using it very happily since I've had no major issues, until the ones I've outlined before.
In my Hybrid HDD I had Windows 10 RTM (10586) installed and didn't use it for a quite while (3 months). When these problems rose, I decided to start using that partition again, but out of the blue it decided to start giving me some serious problems: mostly, the whole XAML interface (Start, Volumen, Sound, Battery, etc.) didn't show up. After trying some fixes (From reinstalling Windows Apps to Creating a separate user), I decide to refresh the bits. Unfortunately, even after refreshing my machine didn't fix the XAML interface problems and even worse: I got no possibility to run Universal Apps.
I went and ran some hard disk checkups, from both: the Lenovo Utility and CheckDisk and none threw an error.
The actual problem: Yesterday (Feb. 4) I decide to clean install Windows 10 Build 10586 64-bit in the Hybrid HDD partition (without deleting the OEM reserved spaces) and I'm stuck now on Finalizing the settings. Is there a way to fix it? Tried hitting Shift + F10, but in that specific screen it does not work. In previous screens there are no anomalies.
As last resort I must wipe out everything in both drives and start from zero. I would not like to do that, since Visual Studio is so tough to install (takes too darned long). Is there a way to resort to an alternate method?

I have had this issue for a long fing time now. like at least 10 clean installations of windows and it still keeps on happening. you can only imaging the amount to frustration im going through right now. I just did another clean install and now im trying everything to avoid this. I even tried switching to enterprise version of windows
I get this issue where the boot logo (win logo with circle) shows up twice. like once and then the screen goes blank for a sec and then i see that shitty thing again but its laggy this time.... I think this is the problem that finally leads to the start menu disappear thingy..

Product Name: Hp Omen 15
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Wifi card: Intel Wireless-N 7260
since some days my wifi has stopped working. If I click on Wifi icon it shows only ONE (max two) NETWORK:And I live in a building with 20+ networks, as you can see from WiFi Analyzer (I'm the red one on the right). If I deactive/reactive Wifi with fn+f12, it goes to Airplane mode and to Wifi mode again and it eventually shows all the networks/My Wifi is on the top. If it's saved, Windows connects to it and then it drops the connection; if it's not saved and I try to connect, it says "You're not able to connect to this network".The fun fact is that after some seconds every network disappear and only one is showed (probably the neighbour one..I dunno).
I've already tried to HARD-RESET the notebook keeping the power button for 10/15sec with the laptop turned off.I've already tried to follow these instructions [URL] ... updating drivers (Intel 18.12.0.3, 18.12.1.2, 18.30.0.9 [Windows 10 default], 18.32.0 [Lastest drivers]) with no success. Everytime I install a new drivers, I uninstalled the previous one + Wireless software + reboot.
I tried to uncheked "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power" on my Wifi hardware settings without success. The HP Network support says I didn't choose a Wifi (Really? The problem is I don't see my Wifi on the list!).This is not related to a new Windows 10 upgrade since I've installed it months ago and It's the first time I've this problem :/ It always worked
I tried different settings too/I changed channel, I set 802.11g on my router, APSD off on the router.I set "Magic packet off, ad hoc QoS off, U-APSD off, fat channel off, incremental throughput off, HT mode off" on the card setting without success. Nothing chaned. The Hardware test doesn't detect any failure. If I go close to the router, it shows my network with full power connection and it connects to it. Then I go back to my bedroom (probably 3/4 meters far), it KEEPS the connection for 30/40min and It drops the connection and I can't reconnect to it anymore. It always worked perfectly in my room in these months (I bought it in March 2015), so the distance is not a problem, I'm 6/7m far from the router. In this case It shows my Network (Connected) and the neighbour network...and the other 20+ networks???
The only way I have is USB tethering with my Nexus 5.I tried the Wifi connection on Elementary Freya (Ubuntu linux based OS) and it shows 20+ networks available on the list. It has not connection problem with my Wifi, but sometimes it stops working, the webpages stop loading and I must reboot Wifi to reconnect to it (usually after 30/40min using it). What's the problem? Is my Wifi card broken?

So I've been trying to update to WIN 10 a lot of times since it came out. Unfortunately the update fails around 80-90% and a BSOD shows up. The BSOD says something like Kernel Inpage Error. I've tried to update from Windows Update, the media creator tool and from the "Get Windows 10" program.

After I followed these steps:
1. Go into "C:WindowsSoftwareDistributionDownload" and delete everything in that folder.
2. Now, run the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".
3. Go to your Control Panel > Windows Update and your Windows 10 should start re-downloading from scratch
Windows Update is stuck at 98% download of 2,085.1MB and won't stop downloading as I have task manager on. It's been over 4.2GB download and I'm afraid to stop it.

It's been 2 days since I've first downloaded the media creation tool for downloading Windows 10. Though I haven't received any notifications for reservation, I made sure my laptop's up to the task.
I've the Windows 10 Setup and it doesn't download the OS files (it's always stuck on 0%), and honestly, I am getting so frustrated with exiting the setup, rebooting my laptop into safe mode, deleting folders, rebooting again, restarting download, and repeating the process! Worst of all, when my download hit 68%, it suddenly exits.
IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET THE DOWNLOAD DONE? Or could I get the OS .iso file on any file hosting site do I could know (and monitor) whether or not the download is starting! Because I've spent sleepless nights waiting for the 0% to turn into 1%.

I downloaded the ISO using Ms's creation tool -- I selected create ISO.
After the download it prompted me to burn to a DVD -- I didn't want that because I was going to use rufus to create a number of USB sticks so I exited the program.
Now I can't find the ISO

I recently bought a reconditioned Desktop, (Hewlett Packard xw6400 workstation). It came with pre-installed Windows 7 premium and a Nvidia Quadro NVS 440 graphics card.
Once I had downloaded and installed all the available updates, I had the W10 icon in the taskbar. Fine!
But when I tried to install W10, a message told me that my version of Windows 7 was incompatible. I upgraded to Windows 7 professional and tried again. This time I was told that my graphics card was incompatible, so I changed it to a Nvidia GeForce GT610.
Following this I uninstalled the Windows 10 icon (KB3035583) completely from my machine. The following day the icon had re-appeared on my taskbar. When I tried again to download W10, I was again told my graphics card was incompatible, but although I had changed and discarded completely the offending graphic's card the W10 app was still seeing the Nvidia Quadro NVS 440 and not the GeForce GT610 which is now installed.

I had the Windows 10 install files in $WINDOWS.~BT and $Windows.~WS totalling >5GB. A few days ago I decided to also download the Windows 10 ISO.
I've now found that the 5GB+ installation files have been deleted.
I'd like to have both options regarding the upgrade and so would like to re-download the installation files. How do I get them re-downloaded?
If I click the Get Windows 10 icon the only option is Upgrade Now, not what I want - unless that will initiate a download and then give me the option of not starting the actual upgrade.

Here is the problem, im trying to use the media creation tool to download the W10 iso, boot from a dvd and do a clean install, deleting all my data.
But the media creation tool seems to not be downloading a thing. for exalmple, i setup /Desktop as the download folder, but when it finishes, there is nothing downloaded. i've tried refreshing and a lot of stuff, but there is nothing. and it gets even worst.
Look at this sreenshots:
The file doesnt even allows to get deleted, it says it does not exist. The same to any change i try to do to the file.
I've tried lots of times, and lots of things. I dont know that to do, i really need to clean-up my pc, the same things happens when i try to download it to a usb flash drive.

If I use the Window 10 Upgrade System Tray Icon to do the download then it will auto-resume with no data loss if the internet connection fails. If I try to download Win 10 Upgrade some other way then it does not have auto-resume and I'll lose the data and have to start over.
I have 3G cellular internet here in India. It is unreliable and slow and often drops out. So auto-resume is an absolute necessity if I want to successfully upgrade to Win10.

I am really frustrated trying to install Windows 10 from Windows 7 Home Premium in my MSI S6000 laptop. I click on the "Get Windows 10" icon and a window pops-up saying: "Your free Windows 10 upgrade is here!" I click on the button "OK Let's continue" and that is the end of it. I see the wheel rotating for an hour or two and nothing happens. Nothing gets downloaded and no other window pops up. I have pops up allowed, and everything else is at the default settings. What is wrong with y Windows 10 upgrade?

I have two computers my laptop has updated to windows 10 with the automatic upgrade with no problems.
But my PC will not start the upgrade I was told to look in the temp folder $Windows.~BT.
The size of this folder was 5.88 GB. And had been like that for a couple of days.
After reading on [URL] .... It said that the upgrade might be corrupt I followed the advice and went to (Windows/ Software Distribution/ Download) and deleted everything in that folder. Then I ran the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".en as advised on the website.
Almost straight away the windows upgrade started again but it has gone back to the 5.88 Gb and stopped again
Looking at windows update and view update history I see there are 6 failed attempts to upgrade to windows 10 all with Error details code 80240020....

My plan is soon after I get the Win 8.1 laptop to download and install Win10. Here 3G cellular internet is slow and unreliable. I'm scared that if I try to download Win10 it will fail and I'll have to start the download from the beginning.
Someone told me that the Win10 download includes the ability to auto-resume so that if a download fails it can re-start from where it left off once the internet comes back. Is that true? I need to get confirmation on this before I get my new Win8.1 laptop.
If Win10 download really does have auto-resume capability then I can do the Win10 download and resume as needed if the download fails. without losing data.
How to confirm that Win10 download has auto-resume capability so downloaded data is not lost.

Desktop settings seem to have been totally HOSED UP on build 100130 - Works on some machines but this one - the Task bar won't hide so I can't get access to the SAVE / SAVE AS / CANCEL buttons when doing a download.
I don't want to make text smaller -- it's small enough already --often have problems with tiny text in menus etc --for example Photoshop !)!!!.
