Installation :: Driver Auto Load Fail With Sysprep?
Jan 21, 2016
I am working on creating a new master image to deploy windows 10 64 to a new of different models throughout our organization. Currently I am having difficulties getting the drivers to be "auto Detected"
The Sysprep command I am using is : sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:C:windowssystem32sysprep10answer.xml
When the PC boots after being sysprep it does not detect and install the drivers.
I have loaded the uncompressed drivers to C:windowsINF and created a folder called drivers. I set the permissions for pretty much anyone to have full control. If I manually point the driver install wizard to that folder they all install correctly. This previously worked in 7 32 bit without any thought.
I tried adding the driver path to Pass 2 and 5 in my answer file without any change.

Preparing upgrade to 10
Did clean install Window 7 to customize, sysprep, image, install on several duplicate PCs prior to upgrade
1st drive is SSD, 2nd is HDD
SSD partition c: os and d: virtual box
HDD e: data
wrote answer file move user and program data from c: to e:
Something happened post sysprep and partition letters switched d and e, I changed the drive letters in windows and now can't get into profile There is a shortcut to e on the d partition of SSD Tried reassigning letters using diskpart but they don't remain when entering windows but go back to the wrong assignment.
I googled this and apparently it happens but I don't know why. I can only think that I was lucky to image the clean OS however if I can fix this it would save me time. If not, I will get rid of the d: partition and put that post sysprep
Here is the answer file
< ?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
< unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend">
<settings pass="oobeSystem">
<component name="Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup" processorArchitecture="amd64" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS"
[code]...
I can't seem to fix this problem

We have upgraded our MDT 2013 to Update 1 build 8298.And we have quite a few issues that we didn't have before. We have some pretty simple task sequences we use to build images, one for each OS. CurrentlyWindows 7x64, Windows 8.1x64 and Windows 10x64. Each os has a separate virtual machine in our VMware environment. We don't capture the image in MDT since our deployment system requires and older WinPE to run (Capasystems.com).I pick the Syspreb task so it does what needs to be done at the end of the build. Shutdown the machine when it's done, pxe boot into capa and then proceed to capture the image.
After the upgrade I boot from the litetouch ISO like we normally do and using a VMxnet3 driver make the connection to the share and this runs smoothly all the way to the sysprep part. When the machine is done syspreping it completely "drops all network connections" and the build "fails".
Tried with different drivers, old and new. Even tried running it on hyper-v but it yields the same results. Every task sequence was built from scratch since the format part was changed.

So we're trying to get our first Win10 VM up and running. I downloaded the latest ISo from the Volume License site and installed it on a VM just fine. I ran all Windows Updates as well.
After that I ran Sysprep and choose OOBE, Generalize, and Shutdown. I then copied the VHDX file to a new location for a new VM as we normally do.
That all seemed to work fine until I then attached that hard drive file to a new VM and fired it up. After clicking the through the timezone page I get an error stating:
Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation.
I found some info online about changing the minimum password setting to 0 but that did not work. I then fired up my Template machine to see if that would setup fine and that now gets the same error so I'm kind of stuck.
I don't want to have to do manual steps on every VM we create

Using the media creation tool (both usb and ISO) I get an error. Something like "installation has encountered an error during first_boot with sysprep." In not at my toshiba laptop at the moment so the wording may be a little off. Upgrading from my 8.1 current os. I just read about removing my eset antivirus before upgrading so I will remove that and my malwarebytes program as well and try again.

I install Windows to vhdx in hyper-v. I make two users, make some updates and install some apps. I make sysprep and copy vhdx to another PC and boot from this.
After this, start menu does not work. i can not tun no modern apps, and Notifications panel does not works too. When I make new user, all works fine. I need to make this work for the already created User.

Recently updated a workbench PC and updated it with the Redstone patch. I attempted to sysprep the PC however I am getting the following Error:
'Sysprep will not run on an upgraded OS. You can only run sysprep on a custom (Clean) install versions of Windows.'

I upgraded my Bootcamp version of Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 on my MacBook Air. The screen is cracked on my MacBook Air so I am trying to move Bootcamp to a new MacBook Pro. When I run Sysprep I am getting an error message that says Sysprep cannot run on an upgraded version of Windows.
My question is: If I purchase new Windows 10 Pro operating system, can I replace the upgraded Windows 10 product key with the new key and will it change the upgrade to a new installation of Windows 10. If it will do this, I can then run Sysprep and move Bootcamp to my new MacBook Pro.

I'm been having issues a long time with different sorts of BSOD's but I've been able to cook it down to this last one after replacing both graphics card and Logitech headset.
Latest error which occuring at least once per day:
The driver DriverWudfRd failed to load for the device SWDWPDBUSENUM{01539fd4-4f12-11e4-824c-806e6f6e6963}#00000000007E0000.

Obviously there are a lot of bad drivers for Windows 10.
Via PC/ Properties / Advanced /Hardware / Device Installation one should, in theory, be able to block. Does not work in Windows 10. Device drivers update anyway.
How do I block specific devices or all devices from auto-updating?
Alternatively, what procedure could I use for batching the sequence to "Rollback Driver" when wupdate updates/kills my device? For the sake of novice user I need to make this as painless as possible until MS fixes the issue.

I just reset my pc and did a clean install of windows 10. I have a maximus vi hero mobo and for the management interface driver the mobo's site has v11.0.0.1155 but windows already has it installed for v11.0.0.1157 Should I use the latest version that has auto installed or is the one on the asus website better for me? Is it more specific to my board since its from the mobo's site?

I upgraded ok with the update and successfully activated windows 10. I downloaded both 32bit and 64bit to usb using media creation tool as I wanted to clean install Windows 10 64bit on my 64bit compatible machine although am currently running 32bit windows 7 as that's what I had to hand when I built the PC. If I attempt to boot 32bit from usb it returns the error winload.efi missing. If I attempt to boot the 64bit version it just returns to windows boot manager.
Frustrated, I opted for the "reset this PC" function in settings instead as an alternative to the clean install and the reset failed, hung, then returned to the screen "what would you like to do". Once I selected "turn off PC" and it restarted and automatically continued the reset only to fail a second time. This time I choose to "return to windows 10" but it just hung. I had to rollback to windows 7 with repair dvd.
With windows 7 now installed again, I still cannot boot from either the 32 or 64 bit option in windows boot manager when I select to boot from the USB.It either returns to the boot manager or returns the winload.efi missing error.I have tried changing settings in bios to disable secure boot and fast boot but it makes no difference. I've read the Andre da Costa (sp?) wiki steps along with countless other how-to-clean-install windows 10 guides.

Error 0xc0000359 winload.efi

I'm using windows 8.1 on ASUS N series laptop 64 bit, my windows got problem and after i updated to windows 10 and try to factory reset it, it got to 99% and say that the window has a problem, it cannot reset my windows and stuck in restart loops.
I've spam F9 and try to reset the pc again, but the problem still persist and i even try to solve it with the advanced options ( startup repair, system restore, system image recovery setting - all end up with this pc require administration account, and somehow my account is lost due to reset earlier) i even try to reinstall windows with CD but it doesn't detected.
It seems like i lost both my windows 8 and windows 10 on the laptop.

After upgrade Dell Inspiron 580 to win 10 the system boot option F12 seems disabled and the box will not boot from the alternate drives (cd then USB) enabled on the motherboard. F2 still brings up the system motherboard edit.
The failure to boot from cd defeats my drive imaging backup software.
I am unable to find a secure boot option on the motherboard, so I suspect the issue is something else.

I'm installing Windows 10 on new computer for my organization . I try to configure one with fresh install (package of apps like Libreoffice, VLC, etc. for users) and custom desktop describes in this tutorial:
Default User Profile - Customize in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums It works fine, in audit mode I install apps, drivers, custom desktop and configure default apps like google chrome for internet browser, adobe reader for pdf files etc. then I run the command line to enter oobe mode generalize. Everything is ok, I continue my install. Then I create new user local account. And when windows starts, I have my custom desktop but default apps are removed (Microsoft Edge replace Chrome, Pdf files are read with Edge, etc.) and Apps Windows like "Weather" or "Actualities" crash .

Auto Updates have 'broken' my HP Network AIO Printer's driver. Repeatedly. On all four networked PCs/Laptops in my household. Requires uninstallation then re-installation of printer driver to regain network printer access/functionality. I and my family are just so impressed </sarcasm>Indeed so impressed that my daughter just bought a MacBook. It behaves perfectly.Seriously considering going over to the dark side as it appears that 'it just works' isn't just a marketing slogan.

I have an older home build computer. Main board is an ACER AST690, CPU Pentium D 2 core 3.4 GHz, OS Win 7 Pro SP1 When I first tried to load Win 10, I was running an Pentium 4 672 HT-Vt, 3.8 GHz. I got a message that my CPU was not supported. Coreinfo indicated prefetchw was missing. I found the Pentium D 2 Core that has prefetchw. Win 10 still won't load from the start menu icon. I downloaded the isoimage of Win 10. It will load but as home addition which I don't want. My last check of compatibility of Win 10 was on 8-10-2015. Do I need to wait until after 9-10 for Microsoft to rerun the compatibility test? I really don't want Home Addition of Win 10, I want to upgrade from Win 7. Will I be able to load Win 10 after 9-10?

Trying to install Windows 10 Pro 64 bit on an older desktop computer (AMD 4000+ CPU, Asus A8N-SLI Premium motherboard) and the boot disc won't get past the Windows logo splash screen; normally it would load the language and keyboard options after this, but in my case the process just hangs at the Windows logo and does not go past that.
I also notice that eventually the boot disc stops spinning in the drive, but the Windows logo remains. I've tried switching DVD drives but the same happens on another drive that I know is working

I got this new pc for christmas which came with 8.1, which I hate. So I did the free 10 upgrade but now run into many new problems. Many of my favorite programs are not yet compadible. Discs burned from previous operating systems and usb drives formated for previous OS will not boot. Simply freezes computer when I insert them O.o. Also had some random crashes and I just wanna downgrade to 7 and be done with this so I can finally start using my new pc.
I enter a windows 7 64 bit ISO burned from a friend and again it just freezes the computer on load. So eventually I borrow my friends genuine windows 7 64 bit disc, and now when I try to load it gives the message "cannot install 32 bit version on ECF system" or something like that.Would I have better luck downgrading to 8 and then trying to get 7? Why is 10 recognizing this genuine 64 bit disc as a 32 bit version??

So far neither will Microsoft Camera HD3000 or Samsung Magican Rapid Mode operate within my Windows 10 Pro installation. It seems that there is no compatible software or drivers yet available for these apps.
The camera displays an image on the screen but will not snap a photo or do a video.
Magician does list many of the normal functions but shows a red X along side OS thus not allowing rapid mode to be executed for a primary SSD.

I've been using Win 10 for some weeks. Until today, it would open three programs for me upon startup and waking, as had happened with Windows 7 before I upgraded to Windows 10.
Today my user account settings were changed and now one of the programs no longer opens unless I click on the icon. It's Windows Live Mail. I tried Pin to Taskbar, Pin to Start, and a combo of both but the email program does not load unless I click the icon.

In upgrading from Windows 7 to 10 all seemed to be working but then the desktop manager starting looping flashing as it tries to install the tiles . Cannot get out of the loop. Have tried restarting but the process repeats - after a number of hours the flashes became less frequent but continue to be about 2 flashes then a pause until it restarts multiple quick flashes . It is reporting windows problems and trying to find a fix I presume but after a week of flashes it continues to be stuck. Can get to the task manager but cannot get into safe mode.

I am running Windows 10 1511 10836, having upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 back in August 2015. This morning when I turned on my Lenovo B575 laptop, after the first Windows screen with animated circling dots at the bottom, when it refreshed the screen and went to the 2nd Windows screen, I noticed that the animation with the circling dots was slow. After several minutes, the computer was still on this screen. After 15 minutes and no change, I restarted the computer.
Upon 2nd startup I got the same results. On 3rd startup I got the Please Wait screen and then eventually got to the Startup and Repair screen. After diagnosing found nothing, I then went to the System Restore page and found that a Windows Update had installed yesterday afternoon. I restored to the Restore Point created yesterday, and restarted.
(Last Thursday I had to force the upgrade to the 1511 10836 update by downloading the 3.5Gb file because Windows Update kept failing. I have had no problems since then.)
No change. I can get to Safe Mode after 2 failed attempts, but without knowing what to check or look for, this does me little good. Of course can I reset/reinstall Windows 10 but would rather not if I don't have to.
