I upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7 and then I realized that all my files stayed which I didn't want all my files so I did a factory reset on my windows 10 upgraded PC and it has been stuck at 61% for about 8-9 hours. The circle loading is still moving but the percentage is stuck at 61. I am worried to turn off my PC in case of it being ruined.
View 1 RepliesSo I updated my tablet from 8.1-10. There were some issues so i reinstalled some drivers and the issues continued so i did a factory reset. The reset stopped halfway and wont continue. The screen is mostly blank unless i fiddle with some things and a screen comes up asking if I want to continue to update, reset factory settings, trouble shoot, use usb or cd or continue the reset. View 4 RepliesI'm using windows 8.1 on ASUS N series laptop 64 bit, my windows got problem and after i updated to windows 10 and try to factory reset it, it got to 99% and say that the window has a problem, it cannot reset my windows and stuck in restart loops.
I've spam F9 and try to reset the pc again, but the problem still persist and i even try to solve it with the advanced options ( startup repair, system restore, system image recovery setting - all end up with this pc require administration account, and somehow my account is lost due to reset earlier) i even try to reinstall windows with CD but it doesn't detected.
It seems like i lost both my windows 8 and windows 10 on the laptop.
I installed Windows 10 on my HP 15044NR laptop (2013) model that came originally with Windows 8.1. I get the image at the bottom of the screen whenever it has to be restarted. I have a 32 bit PC. I can only use it if I reinstall Windows 10.
View 14 RepliesI was doing a factory reset on my Windows 10 computer, but it got stuck on 2%. After less than an hour from the beginning it got stuck, and it didn't move all night, although I selected the shorter method (deleting only personal stuff). I manually shut down my PC and I selected the second method. It said it could take few hours. But after half an hour it was still on 1 %. I have just one hdd disk. What could be the problem causing this? I am worried that when I will come back from work, it will still be on 1%.

I tried to reset again and try to solve it with the advanced options, however I still unable to restart my computer.

View 2 RepliesI tried to reset my computer today after 3 years of using it without any sort of re-formatting, and all three times the reset got stuck on 65% before a blue screen appeared and said that an error occurred. It would then give me the options of either:
a) returning back to my windows 10, with nothing changed
b) Trying to reset again
c) advanced options.
I tried the reset 3 times, and after the last try failed I went to advanced options to look at other ways to approach the issue, such as checking if there were any restore points that I could restore to (which there were none).
After that didn't work, I clicked on the first option of just returning back to my windows 10, and that was when it would not start up anymore.
My computer now is stuck on a infinite loop of the launch screen of the ASUS logo, it flashes, then goes onto the second ASUS logo, and this is all it does, go round and round.
I tried to boot it on F8, F9 (the ASUS recovery button), and the 'delete' button. NOTHING WORKS.
I finally tried F2, which led me to the BIOS page? And I clicked on the boot tab and disabled the first boot configuration option, and still to no avail. It returned to looping, and when trying F8, F9, after disabling that BIOS option, and it still won't do anything but loop.
I just want to create my own Win10 here, but when I setup the VMs, and running it, It wasn't go well, It froze!
I have tried add the size to 21GB, using UEFI, and deleting the EFI folder, but still not working
I have Lenovo Ideacenter Desktop with window 7 OS. Last week, i upgraded it to win 10 and downgraded back to window 7. Now problem is that i am unable to do factory reset (lenovo Green leaves screensaver page) even after restarting and pressing F2 key repeatedly.Yesterday i used Auslogics software for registry defragmentation and now my window is not loading .getting start up failed error. when i tried using system restore option...it is not working .(please see screenshot attached .i cant click that box to select local disc C option).

I upgraded to Win10 from Win8.1 when it was released for free upgrades in 2015. It is now 2016 and I wanted to Factory Reset my PC so I can start fresh again. I attempted to do it from Settings/Update and Security/Recovery/Reset this PC as suggested by Microsoft but I received and error saying "There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made." After searching the web I found many different fixes but they all seems so involved. Making a boot flash drive or burning a DVD and use their software... There is an awesome tutorial on this forum called Windows 10 Clean Install but I like to KISS when I can (Keep It Simple Stupid) so I decided to check with Microsoft.com before I started that process.
THE SIMPLE FIX I FOUND THAT WORKED FOR ME:
Go to: Windows 10
Click the "Upgrade Now" button.
Follow the prompts and you're good to go.
Works with Windows 7, 8 and 10.
I have factory reset once before with windows 10 and it let me keep windows 10 when I did it. But now I want to do it again but it is showing me a notice that if i reset, I will go back to windows 7. Is there a way I can factory reset my pc while still keeping windows 10?
Also I have another question but I don't want to make another thread about it. In games such as cs go, why is my game freezing for no reason? About every 30 sec - 1 min, i freeze for about 5-10 seconds. Between the freezes, i get split second freezes. I am getting a constant 200 fps and 10 ping
Recently, I decided to do a factory reset, to cleanly wipe my drive, with the exception of Windows. When the reset was about 30% through, the reset failed. Now, when I try and use my laptop, it only gets to the ASUS logo, then goes to a black screen with a flashing underscore symbol on the top left corner. I've tried doing F9, SHIFT+F9, and everything else in between. My laptop is an ASUS G74SX, and I don't have a recovery partition for the laptop. I also cannot get any external programs for the laptop, such as ISOs, etc.
View 1 RepliesQuestion on behalf of a friend, he has a Fujitsu AH530 which had Windows 7 OEM installed and he upgraded to Windows 10 Insider Preview and then to Windows 10 from Microsoft Standalone Package, but he now wants to go back to Windows 7, he has used Windows 10 for longer than 30 days so he cannot reset it back from within Windows 10. Can he recover to factory settings using the Recovery Partition or will he need to purchase Recovery Disk from Fujitsu?
View 2 Repliesi tried to wipe my hard drive using the system wipe function in windows settings, and I let it do that while I had to go do something else. I came back to an error that it had an error during the process, and a sole button "cancel." It now tries and fails to boot up past the hp splash screen, and then black screens and resets. It does this in a loop, f8 does nothing, and it detects nothing. My warranty expired a mere 5 days ago, and I am absolutely lost.
View 9 RepliesUpgraded my laptop to Windows 10 today, but it didn't ask me about whether or not I wanted to keep anything or not.. it just automatically kept my files.. but I wanted it to wipe everything clean with this install. So I'm on Windows 10 now and I want to do a factory reset, and I've gone to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC.. But clicking the "Get Started" button does absolutely nothing. I've tried doing the Advanced Startup > Troubleshoot > Reset this PC too.. but it doesn't ask me how much I want to keep, or do anything actually, that just goes to a black screen and resets my laptop.

I recently upgraded my computer from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and have noticed some issues:
Whenever I stop moving the mouse, the little blue loading circle keeps blinking. Now I don't exactly if it's causing any problems but I'm sure it wasn't doing that before I upgraded and I think it may be related to this second issue:
My touchpad no longer scrolls with two fingers. Now it only scrolls via touching the right side of the pad and dragging my finger up or down. No two finger gestures work anymore.
There seems to be a new driver called Elantech and I've found a settings menu for it but the gesture controls say they're turned on even though they don't work.

Yesterday, after getting infected with malware, I decided to freshly reinstall windows 10 on my computer. However, after reinstalling it, I noticed that my bootup was very slow. During the windows logo part of the bootup, the screen flashes once, and the loading circle of dots becomes slow and low quality. Afterwards, the screen turns black for ~40 seconds, and then I get to the login screen.. And sometimes, I get that issue after logging in.

I have this constant loading going on somewhere in my computer. it interferes with my games or if I put anything to full screen it automatically pulls it out of full screen and minimizes it. It also interferes with my typing. If I'm trying to type in an address to go to a website the flashing loading will make it so I have to keep clicking in the address bar to finish typing out the address. auto saved usernames are also an issue. where I'll type the first three letters of my username. It will pull up then immediately disappear. I have to be really fast to click it or result to the constant clicking of the username bar to put my username in.
Also an issue with right clicking anything. the right click "open, delete, new folder, etc" will come up and before I can move to click what I want it disappears. I restarted my computer and it went away once. I thought the issue was resolved and paid no attention to it. I then turned my computer off and back on after a virus scan and the problem persists again. I tried turning the computer off and on again but again the problem continues. how I can find whats constantly loading/causing the flashing loading icon next to my mouse?
I recently upgraded my Windows 7 PC to Windows 10 using Windows Update. The whole process was smooth. I never really ran into any problem. Because the PC is so relatively old, I decided to delete all files and reinstall windows 10 using the windows 10 feature 'Reset This PC' to start fresh and theoretically faster. During the reset when Windows is installing my drivers, I noticed that the screen is plain black - no mouse pointer and the amount of reset finished(in percentage) is not also shown. The screen is just plain black. I am pretty sure that both the monitor and CPU is on. I've tried waiting for atleast an hour. I turned my pc's monitor on and off - nothing happened. So I have to resort to hard reset/reboot coz I cannot really see anything on my screen.
When I turned the power of the CPU back, it gave me the error 'The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. To install Windows, click ok to restart the computer and restart the installation'. I pressed OK but after restarting, it gave me the same error over and over again. I tried the solution in this website ( during installation of windows | HERESJAKEN), and it got rid of the error. However, I am stuck yet again in a loop that continues to just restart my PC when they reach the screen that tells you how much of the reset is finished, in my case, im stuck at 64% of the reset. That screen is shown for like merely 2 seconds, then the PC will just restart again, then show the "Reset progress screen" again for 2 seconds then PC will just restart again, over and over. I think the only solution is to start the reset of the PC again, but I dont know how.
Downloaded and installed 10 successfully, but when I try to open Chrome, I get a blank page with the spinning circle that says "loading". Tried to contact Microsoft customer support and was on hold for more than an hour.
The only reason I am able to post here is that I un-installed it and I'm back to Windows 7.
I primarily use the computer for internet access, word processing and e-mail.
My installation is stuck in a reset loop. The Win 10 Ready to Install came up, so I clicked Start and it rebooted, back to the login screen, and then Windows Update came up saying it needed to Restart Now. After a couple of minutes the Win 10 Ready screen comes up again. I've rebooted about 20 times and get to the same point every time.
View 2 RepliesAfter resetting UEFI to default values, I can't start WIndows because boot goes to UEFI.
I wanted to make a clean install of W10 and for that I had to make some changes in UEFI because it wouldn't allow me otherwise. But after the installation I see that I have some problems with the sleep and fast boot, not working well. So I went to UEFI and reset it to default, saved and exit. On boot, it goes to UEFI once and again. Windows doesn't load.
So I have to do the same changes that I had to do for installing W10. Disable fast boot, etc. And then yes, I get to Windows, but keep having the same sleep and boot problems. Both work really bad in different ways.
I also did other changes, by the way. I couldn't install W10 because it said that my disk was GPT partition style, so I had to follow some instructions to change that, which wiped my disk and partitions completely and maybe I missed some step...
Last night I finally decided to backup all of my files on my Windows 7 desktop machine and wanted to do a clean install of Windows 10 (I had been wanting to reformat for a while, this seemed like a good time to do it). I noticed after starting the free activation of Windows 10 (through Windows Update) that it would only update to Windows 10, so I let it proceed.Once 10 finished and booted up, everything was great. At this point, I went into settings and chose to Reset this PC, and made sure to select only to remove files - not fully clean the drive.
After being stuck at only 2% for 4 hours, I decided to give up on the reset completing. I turned off my desktop, and then downloaded the Windows program that creates the installation on a USB drive from my laptop. Once completed I inserted the USB drive into my desktop and installed Windows 10 as a clean install without any issues.After all of this, I cannot activate my Windows 10. Is my only option to use my old Windows 7 installation/key to do another clean install, then go through the Windows 10 update again?
