I have an Ssd and a wuad core i7 so it shod be done by now by my monitors have had a black screen for over 2 hours now. Even after restarting and unplugging it still boots to a black screen now and I cat even boot to BIOS. What can I do
View 4 RepliesI was trying to used media creation tool to upgrade from windows 8.1 to windows 10 but having progressed to over 75% it vanished from the desktop. What else should i do because it has happened twice. Better still, where can i find the downloaded setup on my pc.

View 3 RepliesCurrently attempting to download Windows 10, I do have the 'Get Windows 10' update installed, and I did reserve my copy. That notification has not yet prompted me that 10 is ready to install, so being the impatient person I am, I downloaded the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. From this tool I have both chosen the option to 'Install Windows 10' and 'Create media from this tool' (via USB flash drive that is 16GB and FAT32 formatted). When choosing these options, the tools first step is to download Windows 10. I've not been successful when downloading, it has been stuck at 0% overnight each time I've tried this. Why this can't download?

View 3 RepliesI don't remember how or when I made a change in File Explorer, but each time I call it up now, I get a slow moving progress bar in the bar where it identifies the location. I noticed there in the search bar it shows where it is going: "search (J:) Jack" as an example.
How do I stop this? It takes a lot of time, depending on the folder.
I play some Microsoft games, such as Microsoft Mahjong in my Windows 10 computer. I thought that if I install the game in another computer using my Microsoft account, I would be able to see all the levels I have played and continue from there. This is not the case. The game starts from level 1. Is there any way to save your progress to your Microsoft account or otherwise and resume playing from another computer? Like when you save your progress on Facebook in Android games and then resume from another device.
I only use my Microsoft account for specific apps. I don't want to connect my local Windows account to my Microsoft account, if this is possible.
I wanted to check on the status of my Win 10 updates so I looked in "settings" "update and security" and clicked on update. Nothing happened, all I get is the endless progression of dots which goes on forever. Stopping and restarting the Windows update services has no effect on this situation. Looks like this situation has been going on months now.
View 3 RepliesI just upgraded to win10. at boot up, my raxco instant recovery app is supposed to initiate a progress bar that gives you 10 seconds to click f1 in case you are having a problem, and you can retreat to a different snapshot. The progress bar isn't materializing. How I can correct this. I didn't have this problem in win7.

View 3 RepliesHave a clean install of W10 and by the day it seems to get slower, if i open this pc or even another folder the progress/search bar takes ages to respond. also some programs cant seem to find relative paths set also takes forever.
i had this problem years ago with vista and cannot think how i solved it.
so far have tried virus scan, indexing on/off, sfc /scannow all to no avail, even though it is my older pc it worked perfect under W7. i only have 20gb on HD and std defender a/v
I am trying to clean install windows 10 on a custom build pc. I have a installation usb created by the Windows Media Creation tool. I boot, it goes into set up, and I choose which partition and all that. It begins installing. Then it restarts after it finishes getting the files ready.
This is when things go off the rails. When it boots back up, it returns to the initial set up screen. As if I had not just gone through the first part of the install. I have tried a few times and same result.
Build: OCZ SSD 240 gb
Asus MB
AMD CPU
I can write out the rest if it is relevant.
Latest (preview) build - file explorer not showing progress when copying / moving files.
This - unless fixed soon will cause me to revert to previous build. Is it just something with my update. (W10 Pro X-64).
So today, as it is all over Windowscentral, some of the MS core apps and VLC for Windows 10 got their updates. However, they are stuck at 0% and showing no signs of progress. I've tried cancelling them all, rebooting and download on at a time but it was no use.

View 1 RepliesI have a secondary screen set up for movies or whatever while I play games and other things, there is a problem with dragging any program screen over to the secondary screen. For some reason when I try to drag it over it will just get stuck on the side of the screen and go half or quarter screen rather than breaking through to the other side. Is there a way for me to make it so I can still half and quarter screen but if I keep on pushing it, it will go on through to the second screen? or just make it so I can bring it to the second screen without the snapping?

The error says "KERNEL_AUTO_BOOST_LOCK_ACQUISITION_WITH_IRQL" and it keeps crashing every time i try to switch on.
Here are minidumps of the past several bluescreens, and a full memory dump of the most recent one. I've been getting these for various reasons - I already fixed a few problems with programs chewing up hard disk and causing crashes due to this, but I recently started getting them again at random times and I can't figure out the root cause. Attached is the official folder of stuff from the tool. The event log will include additional unexpected power losses because occasionally it completely freezes and I have to hard reset. I'm hoping it's not hard-drive failure because it often fails for different reasons.
View 9 RepliesI'm using 3 screens, and I have moved the taskbar to the middlescreen. But when I press the startbutton the start menu pops up on the screen to the left, which isnt really that great. Is it possible to move the start menu so that it pops up on the middlescrren instead of the one to the left?

The last two days I have been experiencing with Windows 10 several blue screens (CRITICAL PROCESS DIED). This happened while using Reason 8 (music production program), while listening to music, while playing dota 2 (several times here) and when turning on the laptop...
Several weeks ago I downloaded Windows 10, before this I had Windows 8 and didn't ever have this problem...
I use a 32" LED TV as a monitor. I have for the last 4 years happily through Windows 7 and 8.1.
Since moving over to Windows 10 if I walk away from my desktop for an extended period my screen is switched off as I expect but, when i jiggle my mouse the screen wakes up okay but ALL my screens have been resized much smaller.
This effects Firefox (full screen), Skype and even my 4 screens on my Arduino microprocessor IDE.
I have my display setting to "turn off after 30 minutes" and "sleep" never. Strangely it has to be much longer than that for the effect to happen. If I go away for, say, 50 minutes. Come back, jiggle the mouse - everything comes back okay. But if I go away for 90 minutes or more, for instance, all the screens are semi minimised when I jiggle mouse and the monitor (TV) wakes up.
Very annoying to have to resize all my screens every time. I have checked all my settings (they are unchanged for years) and it never happened before I updated to W10.
