Installation Unknown Error C1900101-40017 Reported In Windows Update

Aug 10, 2015

I have tried to download and install Windows 10 quite a few times. It freezes at the point where it has completed 75% of the installation and I think it is just about to 'Restart' once again to go into the final 'Settings' phase. The only way to get out of this that I've found is to power the machine off and then back on again, the system tries to recover the installation and then the previous version of Windows is restored. The unknown error C1900101-40017 is reported in Windows Update on each occasion.

HP Pavilion Dv6 / Update Failed Error C1900101

Jul 29, 2015

I have an HP Pavilion dv6 running Windows 7 Home. I decided to update to Windows 10. Download was successful, it attempted to install the update I guess, was on the settings part. It got stuck though on a blank screen with just a cursor for two hours so I turned off my laptop. Then it restored Windows 7, and now it's redownloading the Windows 10 update again. Thing is, I got an issue with my laptop. Whenever it boots up, I get an error message about the fan not working properly and I have to hit enter for it to continue with the restart otherwise it will power off. Could that have affected the update to Windows 10?

Can't Send Emails In Outlook 2013 - Task Reported Error

Jul 30, 2015

Since installing Windows 10 and Outlook 2013 on my main machine, I've had the following error when trying to send e-mails: Sending reported error (0x800CCC13): Cannot connect to the network. Check your network connection or modem.Oddly, the test e-mail when setting up the account works. I even re-installed Windows 10/Outlook 2013 and the same problem occurred, I tried a different e-mail account on another machine and the same error occurred.I can send just fine using Windows 7 and all the config options are exactly the same.

So far I've tried:
Disabling the AV software
Disabling all Outlook plugins
Tried different e-mail accounts
Recreated outlook profiles.

what I could try next? I'm currently running "sfc / scannow" as a quick Google shows that this may resolve it for some people.

Installation status: Failed

Error details: Code C1900101

Any fix that actually works so i don't have to try 100 things. The only thing to note is i have two drives, one is an ssd which is where my current windows is installed and its path is E, not C, just wondering if that may be the problem.

Not much on the web about this failure. Some threads talk about disconnecting all USB and devices so you just have the core system...really? Should I call MS about this? I'm sure they are flooded with probs.

Windows Update Error 80070643 When Upgrading From Windows 8.1

Jul 29, 2015

On Window 8.1. Boosted the install which a lot of people are doing by clearing SoftwareDistribution/Download and running the cmd prompt.

Downloaded the Windows 10 update, as soon as the Preparing to Install dialogue was done, the computer restart, trying to install a normal Windows 8.1 update instead.

Once I am booted up again, I get this error [URL] .... and try the fix.

Once I try and redownload the update again, it skips to 100%, then fails the update with the error 80070643 being reported.

Updates :: Windows Update 0x800f020b Error

Nov 29, 2015

When I run Windows Update on Windows 10 (ver 1511), I get the following error:

Hewlett-Packard - Imaging - Null Print - HP Deskjet 3520 series - Error 0x800f020b

I looked up the 0x800f020b error code and it says this occurs when an attempt is made to update drivers for a device that isn't connected. In my particular case, this device is connected via the wireless network and appears in my list of available Printers.

How do I get rid of this error?

Updates :: Windows Update - Error 0x80070246

Sep 16, 2015

When I try to download and install my two updates ( Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3081455) and Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3081452) ) I get the error code 0x80070246 for both of them.

I tried simple things like restarting, using the troubleshooting to solve any issues, I downloaded the file named WindowsUpdateDiagnostic and run that too with no success.

I figured that it might be a problem with GlobalInstallOrder.xml like the one described here [URL] .... but I couldn't apply the solution, maybe because of the different OS.

I also downloaded the standalone updates and tried to install them but I get an error every time.So now I'm stuck.solutions that don't include refreshing or formatting as there are a ton of apps that I will have to manually install.

I have an Acer 5942G, 8 Gigs of ram, a 256 Gb Crucial SSD, i7 720 QM and a 5650m.Windows are x64.

Installation :: Can't Install Update - UEFI Error?

Dec 23, 2015

So, I have Windows 10 already installed on my PC. I upgraded it last Summer from Windows 7 for free.

I've been trying to update it for the past 6 weeks but keep getting the error: "Windows 10 couldn't be installed. Windows can't be installed because this PC has an unsupported desk layout for UEFI firmware."

I have 3 hard drives and Win10 is running on my main SSD, disk 0. I remember having some funky upgrade issues and needed to unplug certain hard-drives due to strange ownership issues. Heres is a look from Disk Management. I've got an MSI m-board plus BIOS, all new.

Ever since Windows Update KB3093266, my laptops Nvidia GTX 970m card has been disabled and shows a code 43 error, which says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".

Installation :: Couldn't Update System Reserved Partition Error

Aug 20, 2015

I have a Vaio laptop and migrated my factory Windows 7 install to an SSD about a year ago, which apparently left me with no system reserved partition. I used these instructions to create a new system reserved partition, but I'm still getting the same 'Couldn't Update the System Reserved Partition' error when trying to start the Windows 10 upgrade. What else I can do to get the upgrade to work? I really don't want to do a fresh install of Win 7 (assuming that would even work). My diskmgmt screenshot is below. Also found this thread on reddit , but not sure if that really applies to my situation.

Windows Update Error 0x800705b4 - Service Registry Is Missing Or Corrupt

Aug 11, 2015

So far, things have been ok with my Windows 10 update. Today I tried to look for updates, as I think this is the regular Patch Tuesday. However, it takes a long time, then gives me the error in the title. Using the update fixer doesn't work, I just get the "Service Registry is Missing or Corrupt". What would be causing that?

I'm also getting a problem with task host not wanting to allow shutdown, what's the deal there?

Sep 6, 2015

I have upgraded to windows 10 for a few weeks now and over the last couple of days it has stopped installing any windows updates, the error code that pops up is (error 0x80070643)

It's also stopping me from installing some other programs but not all.

I have tried restarting the computer, Nothing I've tried restarting wuauserv service, Nothing I've tried the troubleshooter for windows update, it says problems were found and they were fixed.
