Installation :: Can't Get Pass Upgrade Available Notification
Aug 10, 2015
My upgrade has arrived however when I click on the 'Upgrade Available' link the install hangs on the 'working on it' screen.
At one point this morning I received a message that said I need Administrator permission. No error code. I have not received this message again despite trying the link numerous times. I am an Administrator on the system.
I've upgraded to windows 10 and I'm at the welcome back screen but I can't remember the password and there isn't an option to reset the password, how to recover forgotten passwords.
I upgraded to windows 10 on a dell laptop, it came up succesful with my name still on the welcome screen however when i put in my password or emails it says they are wrong however i have heard of other people having this problem and putting in their old email addresses and passwords so tried that but i have never ever saved any passwords or emails when they ask.
I already have upgraded to win 10 on the first day, but I haven't gotten my notification for quite some time now. It does confirm that I have it reserved. Is there a way to force it to update?
I reserved Windows 10 upgrade in July. App shows that computer is compatible. It is near the end of Nov. and no notification to install. Should the Threshold 2 update allow me to install Windows 10? Everyone around me seems to have gotten the notice to install the upgrade but me.
I cannot see the GWX notification icon. I have a genuine copy of windows 7 running in my laptop and installed all the latest updates including KB3035583. It's been more than a week, still there is no sign of GWX icon.
I got updated last night. I can't find my update history. I used to be able to in Win 7. In Win 10 I don't know what to click on. A notification appeared at the lower right corner of the screen and then disappeared after about two seconds. The Notification area says No Notifications.
After upgrading to this build, all of the icons and notification center flicker every few seconds. When I click on the Start button, the start menu will open after a while.
Just upgraded my work pc to windows 10. Haven't gotten to the desktop yet. I cannot no longer log in. It does not recognize my password. This has never happened before. Also, my login prompt under 8.1 was just the password. Now it also presents me with a selection for the user name and another one for the password. Didn't expect that problem. Moreover it does not react to when I request a reboot. (By the way, the pc is independent. It does NOT belong to a domain.)
I was upgraded my pc from win 8.1 to win 10 and made a clean install . after that my usb are always on even the pc is off in the past I was switched on the EUP option in the bios menu and the usb was shuting down the power with the pc , but now wont work. My motherboard is ASUS M4A87TD-EVO
I have several machine running Windows 7 Professional that I want to upgrade to Windows 10. Question is can I upgrade 1 machine add my other programs Office etc , take an image and then use that image to upgrade the other machines. Adding a new machine using Win7 image was easy, install the image changes the license number for Win7 & Office reboot and that was it.
I have windows 7 on a 750GB drive at the moment, but I want to install 10 on my SSD which only has 30 GB of space. Of course, I don't want to have to re-install all my data. If I go the upgrade route, will I have an option to choose which drive I install the windows files to?
I was able to upgrade a Win 8.1 Pro to 10240 Pro RTM without any problems. However I have a Win 8.1 Pro with mediacenter and when I try to do the upgrade (run setup within the OS) I only have the option to do a clean install and not an upgrade and keep settings.
Yes I'm a Windows Insider and should get the release version of Win 10 on the 29th based on my usual fast "flight" fairly quickly for my Win 10 preview installation. Based on my email address will that give me a reasonably early download of Win 10 on my Win 7 computer? If not can I use the Install.esd to make a release version iso for my Win 7 computer?
I have Windows 8.1 on a small hard drive, I am wondering can I upgrade my current installation to windows 10 on a larger hard drive and how would I do it.
When I downloaded Windows 8 Pro a few years ago my PC only had 1GB of RAM, so it installed the 32 Bit version. I have since added another GB of RAM. When Windows 10 is released, will I be able to download and install the 64 Bit version, or am I stuck with the 32 Bit version on this PC?
I have a Asus 2 in 1 tablet running windows 8.1. I tried to upgrade it via a thumb drive and it keeps on asking me for the product key. The tablet came preinstalled with windows 8 and I upgraded to windows 8.1. The product I have accessed in the settings is still the OEM key which is not accepted by windows.
I am running 8.1 pro 64 bit. I click the icon at the bottom, it says "this pc is compatible" and I click upgrade. I click continue and it checks for updates. None are found. No updates are hidden. I have read and seem to have all necessary updated already installed. Why would this be happening and how do I correct it to download 10? I feel like I "hid" the update a while back, but when I look at view hidden updates it isn't there, nothing is.
I upgraded to 10. Now my printer won't work.(can't find it). I got out my installion disc to reinstall. The disc won't run for me. Now, what do I do? (I tried another disc and it won't run either) Is there something I have to do other than just put the disc in like I did with 8?
I'm trying to rollback to Win7 after Win10 update. I've got some hardware that I want to use that's not compatible.
I've tried going to recovery and 'Go back to Win7' but it's telling me I need to delete the users I've created. The problem is that I removed the original user from Win7 so it wants me to delete the two users I created with Win10. Is there another way to uninstall? I know I won't be able to delete all users and I don't know how I can recreate the original account.
I do have a backup of my windows 7 install before I upgraded. Is my license still going to work or will it be inactive due to the upgrade?
OK I did my windows 10 upgrade now on three machines. two of the machines were single user windows 8.1 prior to upgrade, but one was a Windows 7 Pro machine. I ran the upgrade, but lost my kids user id log on. I had a user id for them set up as a user with no admin rights and no password. I am not opposed to it having a password, now that the kids are teenagers, but I can't figure out how to recreate the user ID so that it is attached to all there saved files. Lots of schoolwork was saved on there ID. I can access it with my admin user account, but want to restore there id.
I upgraded from Win 7 pro about a month ago hoping that would cure some problems I had with Win 7. It did not and Win 10 is working poorly too. I would like to do a clean install of Win 10 but not sure if I can get the correct Win 10 install file just from my Win 7 pro product key. Is there a download source for that since I have already upgraded to Win 10?
