View 3 RepliesI recently got a new laptop and I've been having trouble with connecting to the internet. Several times a day, internet pages will stop loading and Windows diagnostics will come up with the message "The default gateway is not available". This is fixed by resetting the Wifi adapter. I've contacted my ISP and they say that there's nothing wrong with my connection so I'm guessing it's either something wrong with my laptop or the router.

View 2 RepliesI tried to upgrade my Windows 7 laptop to Windows 10 but after it restarted, it got stuck on the loading screen.
Windows 10 (x86 build 10130)
I upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7 and then I realized that all my files stayed which I didn't want all my files so I did a factory reset on my windows 10 upgraded PC and it has been stuck at 61% for about 8-9 hours. The circle loading is still moving but the percentage is stuck at 61. I am worried to turn off my PC in case of it being ruined.
View 1 RepliesI just want to create my own Win10 here, but when I setup the VMs, and running it, It wasn't go well, It froze!
I have tried add the size to 21GB, using UEFI, and deleting the EFI folder, but still not working
I updated from windows 7 to windows 10 yesterday and ever since I haven't been able to connect to the internet. I always get a message that pops up that says XFast LAN Driver Failed and it says it needs to be re-installed. It took me ages just to get it to uninstall but now it won't let me reinstall the XFast LAN Driver from my ASUS MOBO driver disk. I've tried everything to get the internet to work properly but with no successful results.
View 1 RepliesI upgraded from 8.1 to 10 and lost LAN, so could not connect to internet. Troubleshooter advised a possible driver problem with the network card, however the Realtek GBT family card showed up as working in device manager. Researching Internet came up with no solution. I rolled back to 8.1, found updated drivers for the network card, installed them, and upgraded again. Still the same problem. A friend upgrading from 7 had the same problem and with the same network card, and wireless. I realised we both had PrivateFirewall installed, and as soon as I uninistalled it, Internet was working again.
View 4 RepliesNot sure what to do. I did find a page to uninstall Win 10, but I'm not sure it would do it correctly without the internet. I'm not even sure if it would work because I was afraid to try it. It is a HP computer and it was running on 8.1. I'm using my spouse's computer to post this.
View 4 RepliesI have an Acer ASpire laptop which after updating to windows 10, the screen displays the recycle bin, the cursor, the lower toolbar, it cannot connect to internet and the sound icon has an "X"..I pulled the battery to see if it would continue but to no avail but did get a notice saying " desktop not available etc ect"
I can right click on the screen and get context menu's to appear but nothing that I can get any further with.If I right click on the sreen and select "Display Settings" I get a message saying" This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action etc etc".
I have not seen this question on here so far. It sounds like the upgrade will be sent by MS at their will. How would a 2-3 gig download work on a slow, metered connection. I wonder if there will be some other way? I have to do large downloads between 2 and 7 AM.
View 9 RepliesOn a computer that does not have an Internet connection, I installed Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview 10130.
Now, how do I switch to its Enterprise edition remembering that this computer does not have Internet?
My plan is soon after I get the Win 8.1 laptop to download and install Win10. Here 3G cellular internet is slow and unreliable. I'm scared that if I try to download Win10 it will fail and I'll have to start the download from the beginning.
Someone told me that the Win10 download includes the ability to auto-resume so that if a download fails it can re-start from where it left off once the internet comes back. Is that true? I need to get confirmation on this before I get my new Win8.1 laptop.
If Win10 download really does have auto-resume capability then I can do the Win10 download and resume as needed if the download fails. without losing data.
How to confirm that Win10 download has auto-resume capability so downloaded data is not lost.
But I'm currently browsing the internet and typing to you.
In fact - I can do virtually everything (League; Steam; Skype; etc) except use any OS feature that requires logging in -
e.g. Mail, User Accounts, Shop, etc. Then it says something along the lines of "Cannot use this service without an internet connection - please connect and try again." When I run Network Diagnostics as the prompt recommends - it says I am connected and cannot find a problem.
It doesn't always happen - but it seems to be determined on start-up. If I restart it now it might be working next launch - but 75% of the time it will encounter the same issue. It's been happening for months now but I've sort of gotten used to using my phone to check my emails - but I've now encountered an issue with one of my hard drives being unable to be searched (tried indexing, etc) and the only step I've found that I haven't tried says it could be a corrupted user account - but I cannot update my user account without "connecting to the internet". -_-
The system is up to date. No driver updates available.
Working on desktop Lenova computer. I was updating the computer drivers when one of the drivers froze, I click on cancel. I tried the internet and it stated No Internet Connection. I went into Device manager and did the unthinkable. I deleted everything inside the Network Adapters, including the words Network Adapters. In other words, no Network Adapters are showing in Device Manager.
First, I would like to know how can I replace the words Network Adapters in the Device Manager menu, and download the two adapters that were there in the beginning. Lastly, how to get back the Internet to work again.
I am on Win 10 and can only access the internet with Firefox. When I try to connect with Edge I get the error message "Hmmm, we can't reach this page" and if I try through Internet Explorer I get "This page can’t be displayed". Chrome seems to work along with Firefox, but both will freeze quite often.
View 1 RepliesI have a gaming pc. Core i7. Gigabyte Sniper 5 motherboard with wireless lan, ethernet and intel ethernet. So 2 lan ports and a wireless connection. My network and internet is working on my mac iPad and phone. But for some reason on my pc it is showing that the connection has internet access but no apps will work. Skype, steam, origin, i.e, chrome. I have tried everything. I can use a personal hotspot via bluetooth with my phone to the pc as it has bluetooth as well and then the internet works with no problem. I am guessing it is a hardware issue ? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software but it is not working.
View 1 RepliesI just installed Windows 10. I'm having problems loading many of the websites I used to visit when I had Windows 8.1 installed. I'm getting the message "There is a problem with this website’s security certificate." with Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge just shuts down when certain websites are accessed, Wikipedia and pbase.com for example.
Also, Facebook won't display any images or allow me to upload images.
When I boot up windows 10 it goes into a loading screen with a purple (my accent color) background and loads forever. This was completely random after a normal restart, it had worked fine up till now.
I made a windows 10 installation disk to acess repair options. Tried every single option on it with no luck (including scf scan, dskchk, and other CMD prompts) every one gives some sort of error or reason for not working, what can I do? I can get the specific error messages for a few methods if needed but it's very time consuming as my usb stick keeps giving an error after a few reboots of messing with command prompts, and I have to redownload windows 10 let it verify and copy over to the drive which is an hour long process.
Why my Windows 10 is not displaying any results when I press SUPER and start typing? Doesn't give me any result, even settings or notepad.
View 2 RepliesI recently installed fresh Windows 10 and it was working fine. After installation I enabled the builtin admin account and converted it to Microsoft account successfully but after 1 day the your accounts screen in pc settings showing loading always not the content but the content buttons and links are accessible while screen loading (please see the gif of the error)..
I tried to remove the battery while laptop on and charging but its also not fixed this problem
I just upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 on my main machine. Now, most websites will not load until refreshed. On sites that do manage to load, it takes a long time, maybe 10 seconds. I've run all the ipconfig commands and several other suggestions I found on the internet, but nothing has fixed the problem. Also, I run Quickbooks for a non-profit and that program won't update. It times out and gives me a "are you connected to the internet" error message.
I've also tried using IE, Edge, and Maxthon browsers, all with the same problem.
I am using lumia 520 i have done soft reset for more than 10 times every 5 min it is loading ...
View 4 RepliesI was resetting(wiping all my personal files) my windows 10 pc last night and it was stuck on 2% so i left it over night and in the morning it was the same so i decided to turn it off and on and when I turned it on it gave me the option to run windows 10 so i clicked it and my pc started turning on and then the starting screen comes up saying Lenovo and it just stays like that.
View 1 RepliesWhen I restart my PC and get to the Windows loading screen (the one with circle that is spinning) after few seconds a black screens appeares for a moment and after that once again I see the spinning circle (loading screen). But this time the circle is lagging. After that I see wait a moment text and aftert that a I normally get to the Windows but it just simply takes a while. This happened to me out of nowhere (it used to boot normally until yesterday). I reinstalled OS and I have got still the same problem. I chcecked my HDD with HDD regenerator and it showed no bad sectors or delays.
