I have upgraded my laptop over a month now with windows 10 and never had major issues.
Recently (over a week now) internet browsers keep crashing whenever there is video content. Sites like facebook, youtube etc.. even apps for youtube do not work. I've checked a bit and seems like shockwave is the fault. Tried to check for updates but didn't find anything useful on the net.
My browsers continually freeze since "upgrading" to Windows 10. It is the now legendary "Shockwave Flash Player" issue - and it is intensely frustrating. Every day, use of any browser - explorer, chrome, firefox and that new "Edge" in Windows 10 results in pages freezing and the same tired old message about the Shockwave pulg-in not working.
View 3 RepliesEver since updating to Windows 10 every browser I use crashed. I have been trying Internet Explorer, Edge, and Chrome and have the same issue in all of them. Chrome is a little more stable then the other two. Example when opening up Internet Explorer my homepage is set to MSN and as soon as the content begins to load it stops responding and I must force quit.
View 1 RepliesI have Windows 10 on my laptop, upgraded from Windows 7 straight away it came out so it's been a while. Everything has been fine up to now. On Sunday it just crashed on log in, gave a critical service error with a blue screen and restarted, then it didn't go past the start up logo, it went on a loop, laptop went idle. Boom, bsod again. Restart. Then it gave me an Insert boot device or select boot device and enter a key or whatever it says. Restart. Bsod. Finally got on to the start up repair. Couldn't fix it. Reinstalled the whole system with leaving my data intact.
I started getting WiFi connectivity issues. The little light next to the power buttons was not on. Windows 10 did recognise and connect to WiFi but all my browsers were crashing. Also I had issues with my touchpad. Now I'm back to bsods. This time I do sometimes get onto my desktop but everything just freezes after a few seconds. I've gotten a variety of errors. The first one was Dsp(?) Watchdog bsod, then a system thread exception not handled bsod, a critical service failure bsod if I'm not mistaken and now back to the critical process died bsod. Sometimes it asks for the boot device. It's random. I've always taken good care of drivers, disk checks, viruses, everything, so I'm slightly heartbroken. My guess is it's a driver-hardware-system driver incompatibility + the updates and Windows 10 thinking all components are up to date, but we all know how that goes.
It is an ASUS X5MS series laptop, 8 GB RAM, i7 Intel core, GeForce GT 630M. Never had any issues with it apart from it freezing after standby when on Windows 7. Got around it by changing what the power buttons do etc. I've had it for 3.5 years and has been nice and speedy.
I open google chrome and it open after that I search anything and its open but then it give google chrome has stop working and its close. The same thing happened with opera and Mozilla Firefox.
View 4 RepliesThis will be in layman's terms. The new Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Google Chrome, all get stuck, or hang. They take up to 3 minutes or even up to 5 minutes to unstick. Running on Toshiba Satellite. Just upgraded for free last night, and I was too tired, lazy, and dumb to do anything smart like a clean install, use a cool tool, etc.

View 1 RepliesI have recently upgraded to Windows 10. I am having a problem with all of the web browsers installed on my system (except the one built in to Steam). My conncetion is perfectly fine, but I cannot connect to Facebook or Google on Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer or Firefox, and can't connect to Reddit on Firefox only. I tried pinging each of these websites on my command prompt and recieved responses each time. These seem to be the only websites affected by the problem. The web browser built in to Steam seems uneffected by this problem.
View 1 RepliesJust bought a Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro that came with Windows 10. Everytime I turn my laptop on I have internet for about 3 seconds and then it stops working. I try to disconnect and reconnect and it says that I am connected, however the internet does not work. Once I restart my computer, it automatically has internet and I have no other problems. As I open and shut my laptop multiple times daily this has become time consuming and an annoyance. I'm sure it's not my Wi-Fi because my other computers and devices have no issues. Why is this happening?
View 2 RepliesAfter having my laptop on for a few hours I encounter a situation where I clearly have an internet connection but my browsers do not work, (both Firefox and Edge). What's weird is, on firefox, it will usually go to home page (google) and google will search, but from there every link I try to click on will display as 'unable to connect'. The only remedy is to power down and reboot.
Reading around I see this issue cropping up back as far as windows 7 but no definitive cause, although potential DNS issues are mentioned.
I just got Windows 10 today and when I did my own stuff, I get Bad Pool Header error messages. It has happened every time when plugging in game controller or accessing internet.
Is my computer not compatible with Windows 10? Or is it something else?
I bought a new Lenovo G50 laptop a month ago. I updated from 8 to 10. Now, my VLC as well as my Windows Media player freeze. My Chrome and Edge also freeze with certain websites such as Facebook and news sites. Other sites are fine, such as this.
View 12 RepliesThis error is why i could never run Windows 8.1 on my machine and it seems to of transferred over to windows 10 too. My PC boots fine everything's working but usually if i am doing something like watching a YouTube video or on my PS4 playing online my internet will cut off and my wireless with have the Square box with a red cross, if i unplug my adapter and plug it back in it comes back on. But its a bit frustrating when I'm playing a multiplayer game on my PC or chatting on Skype for my adapter to crash. I've had this issue with my old netgear wireless adapter and this one.
It happens around 2-5 times an hour, i looked it up and I've tried many fixes some of which include:
Setting power settings to Max Performance.
Setting the Adapter to not turn off to save power
Reinstalling drivers
Turning off Bluetooth
I have looked in the Windows Event Log and i seem to get 2 events every time this occurs and they say:
WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped.
Module Path: C:WINDOWSSystem32cmihvsrv64.dll
and
The network interface "ASUS USB-AC53 802.11ac Wireless USB Adapter" has begun resetting. There will be a momentary disruption in network connectivity while the hardware resets.

I like Windows 10 but i can't use it if my internet keeps cutting out randomly.
This seems to be happening to quite a few people on Windows 10 it seems. It has started happening to me too lately. It happens when, say, I have one tab open to the forums, and I open another to get an image from Bing Images to make a point, or just for fun(those who know me, know what I mean, when I use GIF's), I download the image fine, then either switch tabs back or close the Images tab, then BAM: "IE has stopped working collecting information".
So I looked at the crash logs in Reliability History, and found out that it's iertutil.dll that seems to be the culprit:
Normally that could mean either the .dll is corrupted and needs to be replaced, OR, somehow got moved to the wrong place(accidentally drag & dropped while "surfing" File Explorer, happens to me sometimes), and needs to be moved back.
So I tried going into File Explorer and and searching the Windows folder. After about 8 minutes it was still searching (Hello! I have a Samsung 850 Pro I expect a little more speed !!!) . So I opened up UltraSearch, pasted "iertutil.dll" in and immediately got this:
as you can see, the path(s) are correct, but I see there are a few WinSxS files also. There could be a possible corruption there, is what I'm hoping.
What I'm going to try, is, cleaning out the Side by Side folder so well as I can using Disk Cleanup and the Extreme version of SFC-DISM:

Few days ago I realized my Google Chrome was having issue with Shockwave flash. I got a popup saying there was an issue and it would not respond. Then I tried firefox and got same issue. I tinkered around with flash, removed and re installed it however when I attempted to play a flash video online, it displayed only a picture and not play video.
So I attempted to play a WMV file on my computer and that too ended up freezing and slowed my system down where I had to exit out of media player. I ran Malware and Virus scans, and I dont seem to have any issues there unless I missed something. Also, I did hear something about Flash being replaced by html5 soon.
I am running win 10 pro tried firefox & chrome both will let me connect and browse the net but will not download all downloads reach about 10-30% and the fail ms edge says hmmm cant reach this page . have tried turning off firewall - malwarebytes & win defender .makes no difference have tried every solution mozilla offers for fire fox for a fix, this all happened after doing a reset of win 10zz

View 2 RepliesI installed Windows 10 earlier today, and since installing it I've been having an issue, whenever I launch any browser, whether it be Chrome, Mozilla, IE, or Torch, it causes the taskbar to disappear, along with all of my desktop shortcuts, and I can no longer right click on my desktop to bring up the small menu for shortcuts/personalization.
I've already tried things like terminating the "explorer.exe" process, and restarting it, and I really don't know what else to do. It may also be other programs that cause the taskbar to disappear, such as games, but I haven't been able to test it, seeing as just launching a browser makes it disappear and I normally launch Torch as soon as I turn on my PC.
I am absolutely clueless as to what is going on, everything was working fine last night. But now nothing is playing sound except from browsers and skype. I have tried black ops 2, gta v, shadow of mordor, steam trailers for games, but to absolutely no avail. It's really starting to annoy me, as all i want to do is enjoy my Sunday afternoon. And there will always be the odd bloke that asks, I am using Razer krakens, plugged into the side of my Blackwidow. I've completely uninstalled Razer Synapse, and restarted my PC countless times.

View 1 RepliesQuite often pretty much all of the time. I can be typing an email and the computer slows to a crawl. The words that I type don't show with the keyboard inputs and then they will suddenly fill in the gaps. If I open task manager I will see 4 or 5 instances of chrome using resources even though I only have one chrome tab open. Those 4 or 5 open chrome tasks can be using up to 30% of my CPU and 30-40% of my memory. I have run adware and Malware bytes just to see if something has been installed without my being aware, but both scans come up clean.
View 8 RepliesI'm not sure if this is even a Windows 10 problem. I've had this issue for a while, and I used to have to restart (or wait) to get it to resolve.
When I try to open either IE or Chrome, the icons appear at the bottom of the screen and if I left-click it a small browser window is visible right above the icon, but it won't open normally. In the past I tried various combinations of the arrow keys and cntrl,alt, the windows button, etc. and once or twice I got it up there.
The problem used to happen after I already had a browser open and then wasn't active for a while. Now, like I said, it's there from the get-go.
Edge, Firefox & Chrome work intermittently. After some time, that's not consistent, searches stop working. Solutions include deleting all browsing data (sometimes works) and rebooting (always works to this point). This intermittent problem only occurs with my Dell laptop. I have two other PCs that don't have this issue.
View 6 RepliesI have Windows 10 Pro. on my desktop and Windows 10 Home on my laptop. On both I have the default browser set to Internet Explorer. I'm using IE instead of Edge because I need the use of some add-ons that cannot work on Edge. My issue is that on both computers every time I click a link on a document or email I get the message in the screenshot below.
When I click a link a pop up message ask "How do you want to open this". There is also a check box that says "always use this app". Even though I always check the box to always use IE, the message comes up every time. If I set Edge as the default browser I do not get that message.
