how to get my all of my files into original proper format, I mean node of the files are opening, when I click on it,I already Format & reinstall Win 7 from Scratch, And I already reinstall MS-Office also. After doing all, still I could not get back my files, I am struggling from last 20 hours continuously,
Why, after rotating a photo from landscape format to portrait on my PC, does the thumbnail stay in landscape format even though the photo is now in portrait format?
In Windows 7 and previous Windows OS's, the thumbnail of photos rotated with the actual photo but in 10 the thumbnail does not rotate with the photo. How can I correct this?
Download the free upgrade on my existing win 7 laptop but not install it. Make an ISO from the downloaded ESD file as noted in the tutorials. Then remove my hdd which has win 7 installed and replace it with a new SSD. Then using the ISO proceed with a clean install of win 10. Would this work? Or does the ESD/ISO file 'tag' the hdd in some way that would prevent it from installing on a new hdd? If anything goes wrong during install or have issues with drivers later on I could always swap back in my win 7 hdd and be up and running like nothing happened. New to all this but little weary of doing an upgrade since In case I need to install win 7 back for some reason its a long process instead of just swapping hdd's.
My local admin account was converted into a Microsoft account , is there a way of reverse it ? Less than one month ago Windows 10 Pro was installed. Let me explain you that there was already a windows 8 installation with kernel corrupted , version 10 recovered all exactly as it was , all programs installed and my configurations.
Previously I had a administrator local account that remained the same after windows 10 installation. It happens that days after I logged in with my Hotmail account to the Microsoft Store to download a couple of items and unbeknownst to me my local admin account was transformed into a Microsoft account.
Now I no longer wish to be logged all the time with this Microsoft account, I even have another admin local account if I want to change but I would have a lot of work to make it look like as it was my original converted account.
In order to avoid such work I ask whether there is a way to convert (let's call this way) the Microsoft account back into my local account or is there a way of copying all the configurations to a new admin local account ?
I upgraded to W10 this morning, and since then, although everything seems to be OK, it will not open any PDF or JPEG files. I get an error message for the JPEG something like, " illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion"
For the PDF files it says, "invalid value for registry".
Since the latest windows 10 update a couple of days ago, I get time-outs when I try opening .jpegs .mov's and so on. About every third time I double click a file, the system just loads and after about 10 seconds I get a time-out message (in German: Der Wartevorgang wurde abgebrochen) and I am unable to view it.
I did several restarts, updated drivers but still same problem. as a filmmaker, this is very annoying to me!
My system: Windows 10 Version 1511 (Build 10586.0) MSI GE 62 Intel Core i7 5700 HQ Quad Core 2,7GHz 16 GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
Until two days ago all was fine but since earlier today, whenever I go to "pictures", select a folder and then click to open a file, I get the following error message..
J:DCIM100CANONIMG_7104.JPG Invalid value for registry"
I get the same message regardless of whether it's a new photo I've just uploaded or photos that have been on my PC for a long time.
I have a Toshiba Satellite C-50A-157 with an Intel Core i3 processor
I'm trying to create some custom buttons for my PC using Rainmeter, and part of what I need is high resolution/quality icons from the programs I use. I notice that for quite a few programs, since I've set my icons to large, come up very nicely on my desktop, but I can't seem to find them of the same quality on the Internet. So, how can I take whatever file it is that creates this icon, and convert it into a high resolution jpeg or png file so I can edit it?

After a long struggle to import my pix from the camera to Win10 and finally succeeding, I've now another mystery
1. How to put the imported 10 or so photos into a folder? I did it with another bunch of imported photos and now I can't remember how I did it though I tried and tried..
2. How can I pick out the ones I want to send (and how to send them by email?) as I prefer not to delete the ones I won't send, to avoid later regrets. I don't even know how to delete any individual photos....
MS keeps everything a secret - no links to choose photos, or delete them, or send them, or change the order in which they are arranged, etc. I had come to learn photos in Win7 with "Photo Gallery" after a long time - now I'm condemned to the same torture on the new windows!
Even if I mark an album, say, 'my documents' as a "documents" type folder in my onedrive online settings, these photos will still be included in my 'photos' tab stream. that and, any photo ever that's on my PC will show up- not just photos in my "my photos" folder on my PC. it's really annoying, i'm getting gamesave pictures, wallpapers, screenshots, and all kinds of random crap that aren't supposed to be part of my camera roll stream all over my one drive... why is it doing this?
When viewing photos stored on OneDrive in the Photos app for Windows 10, is it possible to save it to your PC? I can't seem to see an option to do so...
So I upgraded my Surface Pro 3 to Windows 10 last night and so far quite impressed. However it looks like an issue has carried over from Windows 8.1 to 10.
I'm finding that the Photos app cannot see the photos stored on my SD card. I have directed the library to point to the SD card and it is the only location defined in the Library for Photos. This was a problem in 8.1 but as I never used the app I stopped worrying about trying to sort it. However I can see myself using the app in 10, so would like to figure out what is happening.
It's not a case of the app not showing duplicates because I temporarily disabled the option for it to show OneDrive photos and now nothing shows.
my HDD with windows 8.1 died today luckly i had the iso saved on a USB and i have the serial key, im using a diff hard drive on the computer that has windows 10, but it does not work i keep getting a black screen so i tried to put the USB in and tried reinstalling it but it always freezes before i can put the serial key, the issue seems to go away after unplug the HDD. Is there a diff way to format the HDD.
I have several external USB3 500G and 1TB drives that were formatted with HFS for macs, I can read them an copy from them, but not write tot them (in win10). But I have cleaned some off, and want to reformat to exFAT so they can be be used cross platform. But when I try and format, either quick or otherwise, win10 won't let me.
How can I reformat my drive to re-install a fresh copy of Win 8 if the file win.old and any related files are missing? Is a NTFS formatting software available to accomplish this and if so, what is it and where can I get it?
My computer is a mess and I've got new parts coming and want to format all drives before that. I have windows 7 home premium on cd with key. In addition to SSD with the OS, I have two HDD disks that I want formatted aswell.
How do I get windows 10 back? Can I make a copy or something on a flash drive and install only windows 10 without having to upgrade from win7? Maybe it's possible to do a clean install of windows 10. I read something about a factory reset function, will this clean the drives and leave me with nothing but the OS? Thats what I want to achieve in the end.If I have to format, OS is currently on a SSD drive(Kingston v300, 120gb). Is the best option to format an SSD through the OS installation? Given that it's booted from a flash drive/CD. I have backed up everything I want to keep of course and uninstallled a lot of stuff to clean things up a bit and take care of all my local game files and such.
I have a 4TB HD that was previously formatted that I've put into an external hd bay. When I go into Computer Management/Disk Management the hd is not listed in the top section and in the bottom section it is split into 2048 GB and 1678 GB, both "Unallocated". I want to reformat the hd into one partition but the only available option when I right click the larger partition is "New Simple Volume" and for the smaller partition there are no options available at all. Nowhere does it give me the choice to delete everything or just reformat the entire drive.
suddenly, by opening windows it presents only the new format (see annexe).how can I return to the previous version, showing the entire elements onto the screenÂ
As best as I can tell, the the windows 10 date format has four options beginning with "month" and only one beginning with "day"?
My accounting software will not run unless I can get the short date format starting with day. The nearest option is 13/Aug/15 ... no option for 13/8/15, 13/08/15 etc...
In connection with my job, I have several insurance companies asking me to send scanned documents in Portable Document Format (PDF). My Brother Printer Control Center Fax-Scan software is not yet compatible with Windows10, even in Windows7 compatibility mode. The Windows10 Fax & Scan program does not list PDF as a scan-to file conversion option. Only jpeg, bitmap, txt, etc..
Is there a way to tweak or add-on something to Windows Fax & Scan to make it scan documents into PDF format?
