I keep having trouble with my laptop it hasn't been even starting up in weeks, I turn it on and this it's black with a blue window that sus Default Boot Device missing or Boot Failed, insert recovery media or hit any key
Then select boot manager to choose a new boot device or to boot recovery media. So I hit enter and I go to boot manager and boot option menu but there's no options....

I bought my laptop some 2 months ago and reset it a month ago cause of some minor problem. After the reset it was working pretty good and i downloaded games and other stuff. THen yesterday night i realised that after my built in Toshiba service apps had been uninstalled after the reset, so went download and install them from the official site and the suitable versions. I think i download too many of them at the same time and installed, so after 5 minutes it got hung. I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del. After that the screen went black and i hit the power button to shut down. Then after that switched it on and there it said under toshiba logo that automatic repair was taking place and diagonising your pc, and took me directly to that bue Boot Menu. There i tried stuffs like restart, turn off and ultimately came to resetting giving up the rest. When i pressed reset it look good till 36% then after that it said "There was a problem Resetting your PC".
After this i went to this site- [URL].... And did only Method 1 cause for doing method 2 I cant get into my windows.
My laptop was being weird at work one day so I rebooted. I had windows ten for probably two weeks. when it went to boot agian it got stuck on the windows boot animation. My bios options were limited and the only thing i could do was revert to windows seven through some windows ten recovery menu. Once i got back to windows 7 it still didnt boot. I re installed windows seven and then tried to go back to windows ten. Once i got to windows ten it tried to boot but failed. I rebooted it a couple times to see what would happen and it reveerted back to windows seven automatically. Now windows seven won't boot either.

I took my laptop to Geek Squad at Best Buy yesterday and he told me Windows 10 is installed but it will not boot. He loaded their MRI operating system with my CD/DVD drive and he told me my files are still on my laptop. They wanted $100.00 to get my files of my laptop into a flash drive. The flash drive cost $30-40. In order for them to fix my laptop, I would have to pay $200.00 for a one year service contract. Then, to solve the problem, they would delete all of my programs, and possibly all my files, from my computer. That totals a minimum cost of $340.00 and that is if they do not find anything else wrong. I told them I could not afford that and I took my laptop home.
When I got home, I tried again to boot my computer and I got this message: WDF_VIOLATION. I ran a pre-boot diagnostic and I got error code 2000-01 42. Msg: Hard Drive 0 - self test unsuccessful. Status = 7. I looked online for information on this error code and found people saying that this means the hard drive has gone bad and needs to be replaced.My laptop was absolutely fine before I downloaded Windows 10 on Tuesday. Now my hard drive is destroyed and my laptop will not boot!
I had a virus in my laptop so I reset my laptop to find that it's stuck in the INACCESIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE loop. I don't have any Windows disk to put into my laptop. My laptop is an Asus g750jx.

View 2 RepliesToday I installed Windows 10 on my machine (ASUS N55SF laptop) for the first time on a separate hard drive. Now I have Windows 7 on my main hard drive and Windows 10 on my new drive (the latter being an SSD one). After installing Windows 10, I got a new boot option in my BIOS called "Windows Boot Manager" which is set as default, but it runs Windows 10 directly, I can't see any boot manager (I can assure "Windows Boot Manager" behaves this way because my BIOS lets me override the boot option, so that I can directly run any boot option, and this is probably the only way I can run Windows 7 currently).
If I go to Start → Advanced system settings → Startup and Recovery → Settings, I only see Windows 10 in the "Default operating system" drop-down menu, while I only see Windows 7 if I do this while on Windows 7. It's like the two OSs are not completely aware of each other.
I was playing with disc partitions and i accidentally deleted something... The problem is, that when i start my computer, Windows boot manager error appears (with no options, nothing, just some text about how should i reinstall / repair...), but when i start my computer, i have no way to access BIOS (I know how to access bios in my pc, I was accessing it like 20 times during last few days while installing various OSs... always with F2).
So actually I am stuck in a loop: start pc - cant access bios - windows boot manager error- restart - cant access bios - win boot manager error - restart....
With windows, i had problems with accessing bios before, but it could be solved by some kind of "absolute shutdown" of a system - holding shift while clicking "Shut down" - then i could easily enter bios with F2 during start.
I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 and everthing installed without problems exept when I start or restart with a usb flash drive inserted, I get "Boot manager is missing". If I remove the flash drive and select Control-Alt-Delete windows starts with no problems.I realize the Windows trying to boot to the usb and fails.
View 3 RepliesMy windows is not booting the m.2 ssd. I bought a new laptop with a hdd. Bought m.2 850 evo ssd and installed it.Installed windows 10 on it without removing the hdd. It was loading fine but i noticed that the boot loads the previous hdd before continuing to the ssd. Tried deleting the hdd from msconfig boot and that didnt work.
Still in the bios i only saw "windows boot manager HDD" under the uefi bbs boot priorities. But it recognized the ssd in storage information. All that and i even tried cleaning with diskpart the hdd ( the big mistake ).So i now got no boot manager now. And ssd is not loading. Is there a way to fix it without reinstalling windows ?
I have a Linx 8 tablet running Windows 10, and despite several hours of web/forum trawling I cannot access my BIOS settings to view my boot manager, either through the Settings/Restart method, or in Safe Mode. I can get to a screen that lets me choose between either UEFI Settings or Boot Manager (by holding the power and the volume up buttons together at start up). Selecting the UEFI option takes me to the expected prompt, but choosing Boot Manager just starts Windows as normal. I simply cannot access my Boot Manager; I have disabled Fast Boot.
View 9 RepliesMigrated OS 8.1 from HDD to SSD . Migration software installed command line in bios "Boot Manager on Disk 1". If I do a format of SSD will bios revert to original without the reference to disk 1. I intend on doing a clean install of Windows 10 retail version in UEFI mode....
View 2 RepliesI am getting a strange error after *important* downloading windows from a disc that my work provided me. Since I used the copy from my work, I do not have an installation disc anymore nor do I have a repair disc. To make matters worse, I upgraded to windows 10 but I still get this error. To get past it I have just been pressing f12 and manually selecting my ssd from the boot menu, and it works flawlessly from there. Why can't my computer automatically load from the ssd?

My situation is that after a recent issue with my user profile going "missing" (I think) I thought do, do you know what I'll just reset my system and start over. But windows 10 would not reset. Instead I grabbed the windows 7 disk to reset that later hoping to install windows 10.
I was having problems with my Kingston SSD so I installed it onto my HDD and later on tried to clone the HDD to the SSD and then format the HDD so the OS ran off the SSD. I have clone the 2 drives but haven't formatted the HDD. I tried booting the SSD but it comes up with the BOOTMGR IS MISSING! I find a solution which is to reset the bootmgr using the code "Bootrec.exe /rebuildcd" but I can type the command in due to not being able to access the system repair.
This system repair issue says that the disk is not compatible meaning I cannot enter to the other options to get to the Command Prompt.
I have a Asus Windows 8 laptop and I decided to install Windows 10 two days ago.Today, I was trying to update my Kaspersky internet app on the computer and it told me that I had to reboot so I did. But it started having trouble and I got a blue screen. At first I tried to shut down and opening the laptop again but it happened the same thing. I went to troubleshoot and decided to reset the whole laptop. It was resetting but it shut down because of low battery and I tried to reboot it and ever since its showing the Logo and shutting down and then restarting again not being able to past that screen. I had to force shut down the computer to stop it from doing that but can't turn on the laptop at all.

For a month now, it boots till a black screen with the cursor or to the screen with the five dots. The only solution that I have found to boot normally is after five to six resets it boots normally, but next time it cannot boot again. I performed a system restore to a restore point of a month ago, but it came with an error about a problem of my antivirus program. I unistalled my antivirus and I tried again, but this time there were no restore points.

I figured it was stuck for good so i forced it to shutdown. Now when booting it goes back to upgrading at the last og the 3 steps and is just stuck there with 0%.

View 1 RepliesSo I found this issue in my second laptop that running W10TP. I have HP as my first, and ASUS as the second one.
In my ASUS (2nd) I can't booting the laptop without force shut down through hold the power button, because it always stuck at Windows logo. After shutdown and boot again, I succeeded into the lock screen. But it taking too long in the blank screen for almost one minute.
This issue never happened in my HP laptop.
I've tried many methods to find this issue, system scan, virus scan, update installed drivers, driver scan (it failed). And for a couple days it work so well and I'm happy for that, no more stuck at booting.
But the issue come again after many security update for build 10240. The booting is stuck again and BSOD with pfn_list_ corrupted. After restart the laptop I've tried again all the methods that I've did. And then I found so many viruses and malwares from Windows Defender. It's odd for me because it is never happened before, and suddenly of course.
After the viruses were cleaned, the issue is still persist. I want to reset my laptop from settings/update& security/recovery/reset. Is this necessary to do considering W10 will come in 3 days left?
URL... and now its been stuck on a screen that says "Installing Windows" at the top with a percentage and circle in the middle and a note at the bottom that it's installing features and drivers. However, it has been doing this for two full days now. It comes back up at 64%, goes to 100%, restarts, then goes through the same thing. I have a Dell laptop and no error messages come up at any time.

I ran the window 10 installation last night on my Lenovo Y50 laptop. Today it is stuck in an endless loop of trying to Preparing Automatic Repair, diagnosing PCs and wanting to restart. I can't get past the limited choice of options to actually do anything useful. I just want to get rid of the thing and go back to Window 8. I am to computer stupid to know how do this. Searching about the issue online, it seems that this can be caused by norton or iCloud software, or two Microsoft background services that you have to disable in MSconfig to stop the screen flashing. I don't have norton or iCloud, and I disabled the two services. Still happening. Can't find anything else online that mentions how to fix this. Also apparently for most people the flashing doesn't start until they've reached the desktop already, whereas for me it starts before I can even do anything. PC completely unusable.
