I set my live tiles up as wide or large, and none were live. Not even Calendar or Mail. I resized them to medium and they all woke up. Even Store and Maps went live.my live tiles are only live when sized medium, they are dead when sized larger.

View 1 RepliesI need to see if this is just me or what...I installed Win10 on my Surface Pro 3 without an issue, but since then I have had non-working live tiles on several apps: Weather, Tweetium, and People. Photos didn't work at first but has since started, although it scrolls through the same handful of my pictures over and over. I've checked and the live tiles are all turned on, and in each of these cases the tile is set at either wide (Tweetium and People) or large (weather).
I have submitted this issue for Weather to the feedback app and I noted that the non working live tile is the number one complaint. Are others having these problems with Tweetium and People too?
Wanted to know if there is any way that you can place live tiles on the desktop. To me having to click start to view quick glance information is kinda' pointless and not a good way to be productive.
Using the Tablet mode on a PC doesn't cut it for me because of all the drawbacks (will not mention them here).
My home screen is almost static, all of the tiles is static and not live. Only people tile has a little animation and the tile from calendar show some information. All other tiles show the "brand" and work as simple icon.
If I choose someone and turn off the live option and switch back doesn't happen.
Any way at all to have live tiles be on the desktop instead of in start menu? I don't undertand why MS tucked the live tiles into start menu? If they are afraid that it would interfere with desktop icons, then they should make live tiles be dockable or make it so that a live tile and desktop icon cannot occupy the same space on the desktop. Terrible idea to tuck live tiles into start menu!! The whole idea of live tiles is so you can see it live!!! Is it just me alone on this?
View 1 RepliesI uploaded W10 yesterday morning, loved it, no problems at all. Turned on my PC this afternoon and when I click on the start button nothing happens. Also the live tiles have gone and some icons in the taskbar are missing too!

View 1 RepliesIn Windows 8.1 there was an option to delete personal info from live tiles, this was also possible on previous Windows 10 builds but I can't find it. This was useful for when inevitably something breaks on the start screen and we could 'refresh' all the tiles.My Mail App is stuck showing 1 unread message because I reimaged back but backed up with that 1 message unread.

As it would be far easier to be able to spot the ones that you want to use for different things.
Before it happened everything was just fine turned off my desktop PC and went to sleep. Woke up turned on PC and this happened.
View 1 RepliesSince last week i'm noticing, that live tiles, app list and description of Edge tabs are getting grey or so dark that they are unreadable (only tabs).
All this is happening randomly and it is changing with every tab opened, changed or even with start menu showed up.
Here is picture of what i meant...only calendar tile stay in normal accent color, the rest is darker.
Btw all the apps are starting/working normally.
MY LIVE TILES specifically the Mail, Flipboard and Photos app doesn't work. though Mail works from time to time

We have lot of apps turnings into the live tile when pinned to start in the Windows 10 mobile. Where is the option to turn live tile off for selected apps.

I am thinking of using the windows 10 installation USB to boot then repair to recover the image onto the 240Gb SSD.
Would this work? Does partition size affect the new 240Gb SSD?
The system is already licenced for Windows 10 and nothing has changed other than the SSD volume size..
The VERY last resort is to install over again with all programs, tweaks, etc..but, I'd rather not.

I've largely figured out how to get adequate colors for pieces of windows and such, but:
I'm on large monitors and the icons in the taskbar are miniscule. And YES, they are NOT set to use SMALL icons... I'm looking for a way to get LARGER icons WITHOUT reducing resolution or doing anything else to the displays...
Aero snap is marginally useful, but NOT when you're using multiple monitors. HOW do I make aero snap limit itself to ONE monitor? I DON'T want it to pull windows that are on monitor two onto monitor 1 when I snap a window. I JUST want it to work with the windows on the monitor I snap a window on.
So, how do I customize these couple basic things so Windows 10 is a bit more productive?
After disabling and uninstalling Cortana, Edge and others as well as Search I ended up with 2 dead icons in the All apps menu one for Search and one for Edge. When I drag the Search icon to the desktop it's named as:
@{Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_1.4.8.176_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewyms-resource--Microsoft.Windows.Cortana-resources-TileDisplayName} but not sure I want to start deleting various reg entries where this shows. I also tried in all the usual places where the shortcuts are supposed to be but nothing worked and the icons are still there so how they can be removed if at all. It's more of a cosmetic problem as I have no issues with Windows otherwise...
i tried to wipe my hard drive using the system wipe function in windows settings, and I let it do that while I had to go do something else. I came back to an error that it had an error during the process, and a sole button "cancel." It now tries and fails to boot up past the hp splash screen, and then black screens and resets. It does this in a loop, f8 does nothing, and it detects nothing. My warranty expired a mere 5 days ago, and I am absolutely lost.
View 9 RepliesI have Realtek HD Audio for my sound, but since a few windows 10 updates ago, my sound goes dead when playing games (League of legends, WoW aswell). I updated to the newest driver version (22 january 2016) for my audio device, but this didn't solve the problem.
To be more clear on the actual problem: My sounds works fine, but after 5 minute ingame, it starts with some "white noice" (this is the most accurate translation i could find, basically the quality becomes really bad and its starts becoming quieter), and after a minute or so, the sound goes totally off. Sometime it comes back (with bad quality) during the game, sometimes it doesn't. After a few minutes when finishing the game, the sound comes back totally fine like nothing happened.
It isn't only the sound of the game itself, all other sounds stop working (like radio on google chrome). When i look at playback devices, it acts as if it plays the sounds correctly (the green beams keep on moving).

I have uninstalled Screenshot Captor, I have run CCleaner over the Registry, I removed all traces of Screenshot Captor from the registry and I've rebooted - yet the Notification list still has those nine entries in for Screenshot Captor How can I get rid if them ?
I no longer need Screenshot Captor because Win 10's built facilities are adequate, for me at least.
MS have never gotten the system tray/notification area functioning properly since... forever
Last night while exploring windows 10 I clicked on something on the lower right corner of the screen (tablet, maybe?) and my screen switched to 2 large multi squared boxes (Tiles?). I have clicked on everything imaginable but can not get back to the original screen. My taskbar is also missing in action. None of the things I pinned there show up. The windows logo does nothing when clicked nor does the task view button.
View 14 RepliesI have just installed the upgrade from windows 7 pro to windows 10 pro. Initially I saw tiles, but now I have not seen them since? How do I get to see/use the tiles and quickly switch between win 7 mode and win 10 mode with tiles? see pic
Also, the 'Help and Support' function which was on Windows 7 no longer works, just comes up with - (see pic) ....
I've seen some different solutions, but I've been wondering what really is the absolute best way to add your own custom tiles to the start menu. Hopefully without having it open a separate program everytime you want to use one of your own. Currently Windows 10 makes all the icons smaller which I absolutely hate.
Here's what I am talking about:
I've had this problem for a while and with every build it doesn't get fixed. When I open the start menu the tiles don't appear. Screenshot should say it all.
