View 2 RepliesUnable to open Canon Printer Quick Menu since installing Windows 10. The application file is installed on the laptop but Windows cannot see it.
View 2 RepliesWhen the print spooler is turned on I get a message that says the printer queue is full. (The printer queue is empty.)
If I try the printer without the printer spool on i.e. print directly to the printer, I get a message that says "Unable to create a print job."
This printer was working with Win 10 until recently. The scan function works as it should. So the computer does see and interacts with the printer through the usb port.
Something must have changed in the latest Windows 10 release to gum up the works.
Impossible to get local printer to link to windows 10.

View 1 RepliesWhy doesn't my printer work since I upgraded to Windows 10? I checked the drivers. all is ok.
View 1 RepliesI'll first describe my LANs network environment. Three Windows PCs and one Linux PC. Each PC is sharing one folder called TEMP.
The PCs:
WIN10 - Windows 10 TP (non-enterprise edition)
WINXP - Windows XP Pro SP3
WINXP0 - Windows XP Home SP3
CENTOS - CentOS 6.5
Using NetBIOS over TCP/IP on each PCs for name and IP address resolution
No hosts file contains the names of the LANs PCs
The Computer Browser service is active on WIN10
The Computer Browser service is disabled on all the other Windows PCs
Samba services on CENTOS is on but the master browser in the WIN10 PC
Firewalls on all PCs is off except for WIN10 but the rules allow file/printer service through The same primary user account is used to logon to each PC No HomeGroup networking used. All PCs are in the same workgroup=LANSYS
Now with all that stated, I'll describe the problem. From WIN10, I can see the list of PCs in the workgroup and access the shared folder TEMP on each PC
From WINXP, I cannot see the list of PCs in the workgroup and can only access the shared folder TEMP on the other PCs when I use the IP address of those PCs in either My Network Places, Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer. I always receive the "Workgroup not accessible ...." popup window when attempting to view LANSYS from My Network Places.
From WINXP0, it's the same as WINXP
From CENTOS, in order to see shares I use the smbclient command. When I execute the command for WIN10, the command fails and reports that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is disabled on WIN10
But NetBIOS has to working on the LAN because I can ping each PC from any PC. I executed ipconfig/all on each Windows PC and it displays NetBIOS is enabled.
So it appears that NetBIOS Sessions service over port 139 inbound traffic on WIN10 is either buggy, crippled, or broken.
I upgrades to Win 10 the the above network/wireless printer worked fine. I've now done a fresh install and it doesn't!
The scanning function works but trying to print produces an error. I've been advised by Samsung support that their driver doesn't support Win 10 and that they don't know when a new version will be released. They said it would still function under the upgrade as it still had access to the old Win 7 drivers there.
Any way of making the Win 7 drivers available on a fresh Win 10 install?
I've upgraded a couple dozen computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and was informed today that on at least three of them the print notification balloons are no longer working. I have verified this is the case, especially since it is happening on my machine and I hadn't noticed. It might not be working on any of them and it definitely was in Windows 7.
I first went into the Print Mangement App and checked on the Print Server Properties Advanced tab. Both "Show informational notifications for network printers" and "Show informational notifications for local printers" are properly checked. I tried unchecking and re-checking with no success.
I then went into the Registry Editor and manually deleted and re-added the keys for HKEY_CURRENT_USERPrintersSettingsEnableBalloonNotificationsLocal and HKEY_CURRENT_USERPrintersSettingsEnableBalloonNotificationsRemote. No success.
I then went into the Group Polilcy Editor and went to the User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Start Menu and Taskbar to ebable the policy for "Disable showing balloon notifications as toasts" since I read that could cause problems. No luck.
I need to get these working because while it doesn't affect most of my users, I do have a few that use that balloon as a check to be sure all expected pages printed from an ERP system and they write that number on a check sheet.
After upgrading to Windows 10, the scanning on my HP printer doesn't work. The other printer functions work o.k.Should I simply delete the printer and reinstall it?

View 1 RepliesI've already used the printer migration tool with success on Windows 10 Pro to import my old printers drivers from Windows 7.
But on Windows 10 Home it does not seem to work. I get a error message :

I have installed Windows 10 after having 8.1. I cannot get my printer to work it is a Kodak one wii fii enabled but since installing windows 10 it will not print via wii fii. It has a couple of times printed via the usb cable but more often than not wont print. I wondered if it was anything to do with it picking up which port I am trying to print from. What I can do. Was thinking of getting rid of Windows 10 and going back to 8.1 but dont know how to do it.
View 3 RepliesThe issue is I have a network printer selected as the default in Windows 10. I have the option "Let Windows manage my default printer" turned off. At one point randomly, the default printer goes back to the Adobe PDF as the default.
Steps taken:
* I have checked the registry settings to ensure that the options "let Windows manage my default printer" is switched off. I can confirm this.
* Switched the default printer back to the network printer and performed a reboot. The network printer remains as the default. At some point of the day it goes back to Adobe PDF.
when trying to print get message to say off line even though it is connected to wifi router.
View 3 RepliesI have a Canon EOS 700D which until today I have had no problems connecting to my laptop via USB. However now I just get error 10 "This device cannot start". It connects fine using the same cable on two other laptops running windows 10. View 1 RepliesWhen I plug in the cable for the Canon LBP6000/6018 printer in my new Lenovo 100 I get a message that it isn't recognized. I've used two different cables with the same result. My printer does not show up on the Devises screen. The printer worked perfectly on my old computer with Windows 7. I even converted my old computer to 10 and got the same error message, so the issue is with 10. How do I get my printer to work on 10? It's only a year old, so I won't replace it.
View 9 RepliesWhen I try to login, I get the following error message:"The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in.User profile cannot be loaded."I am literally unable to use my HP Envy laptop, which is running Windows 10, because of this. I do not even know how to get into safe mode. Though I haven't found safe mode yet, I was able to access system diagnostics via Escape (while rebooting). I tried to do a system restore, but it said I had errors on my hard drive and made me check and fix those errors.Next I tried Recovery Manager. But this just gives me a blue screen. Nothing comes up.
View 4 RepliesI have downloaded Win10 onto my laptop. The DVD is: UltraNote Series: 8x SATA DVD-R/RW/Dual Layer (+ 24x CD-RW)
I thought that everything was fine after I had re loaded Norton which had disappeared. All other icons and programmes were intact. I then attempted to load another program via a disc but found that win 10 doesn't know that the drive exists.
I am using my PC with win 7 to type this info.
