My new win 10 tablet is asking to the pw to this account, since the Hotmail account does not exist how can I get into my computer now! While windows 10 is seeking this email address, I am totally unable to access my tablet.
How can I fix this without a compete restart which will loose some valuable information that was stored on it. As this is a new system, there are no backups made.
It gets as far as the login screen, and after I enter my password the circle of little dots just spin, and spin and spin...
I bought this tablet a week ago, it is an Acer One 10 s1002-145A. Earlier today I checked for updates, and tried to download the update to the new build. It never got past 0% downloading.
There were a lot of other strange problems that just started happening today also, when I would try to access links from the Control Panel, the screen would just become inactive - I was unable to interact with or close that window. This happened when I attempted to System Restore also. Attempting to open a CMD prompt as an Administrator would yield no results, except eventually an error message would appear telling me that the CMD window "failed to execute in a timely manner" (or something close to that).
Made the mistake of linking my wife's Hotmail account to the user account on windows 10, I had to reset the password through Microsoft so now when logged in it also opens up her Hotmail account because both are the same. Her account is also an administrator. Is there anyway to change this? Can I make another account as administrator?
View 3 RepliesI have deleted and recreated the *.ost file several times and it still asks for the password several times and then comes up with the following message. "Cannot expand the folder. The set of folders cannot be opened. The file C:UsersEdAppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlooksundancer245_hotmail1.ost is not an Outlook data file (.ost)." I have no problem accessing this account in FireFox and none of my other Hotmail and Outlook accounts are causing this problem in Outlook 2010. I am running Windows 10 on this computer and on my Wife's Tablet and I can access the Problematic Hotmail account from the Tablet and also from my new Lumia 950XL windows Phone 10.
View 2 RepliesI upgraded my Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2 to Win 10 a few weeks ago. Since then, it won't fully power down 9 times out of 10. I close all apps, and select shut down from the power menu, and it appears to go through the shut down process, but it stays powered - the haptic feedback Windows button buzzes when pressed. If I don't plug in the charger it will kill the battery.
The only way to power it back on is to hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
I have two outlook/Hotmail accounts. One I log into the PC with (which is pretty crappy by the way and is a huge hassle in Windows 10 IMO).
In the mail app, I was able to add the mailbox of the one I use, however I have a second email account through Hotmail that when I try to add the account to the mail app, it asks me to verify with a pin. I have never used a PIN with this account.
I went to settings and sign in option, and have an option to change the pin, however it is wanting to change the main account that I log into the pc. The pin appears to be 4 digits (it only allows 4 characters before it auto enters) unlike the main pin which is 8 or 9 numbers.
im running windows 10 in an active directory environment. If I log in with my own account some of the programs are not available for example edge. It seems to me that the profile is not completely loaded somehow. Looks like this:
For me it looks like if somehow the modern apps would not be loaded. (If I search after Edge it's also not available)
If I log in with another test-account it works fine. I also tried to make the user profile new but it did not work.
Did I maybe not delete some parts of the ruined user account? (I deleted everything under c: Users)
I have a Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph that works without problems aside from the fact that, when I undock it from the keyboard, it doesn't detect that it should now be in Tablet Mode. I have to manually go to the Action Center and toggle it there. Same with docking it back. I have already checked my settings and I didn't disable Tablet Mode either.
how I can resolve this? I just want to seamlessly dock and undock the tablet and it should switch to tablet or desktop mode respectively.
I don't know if it's relevant but the OS is Windows 10 Home Single Language.
I have just got a new hp laptop with Windows 10 already installed. When I first set it up I was asked for an email address and password, I entered my hotmail email address and password and it allowed me to continue. Since then when I have tried to access hotmail.com on internet explorer it won't load at all. And when I've tried to access it on the mail icon on the home screen, it opens up but says that my account needs to be updated so I click on the link to do this and every time it starts to load for a few minutes then comes up with an error?

I open iexplorer and open Hotmail and I went to create a new email to one of my contacts and noticed when I was typing in the email address that it didn't auto display from my contacts. I then clicked on the settings and selected 'People" and all I get is the beads just spinning for a while and then get "This page is temporarily unavailable.Funny thing when I open firefox and go into Hotmail I can see my contacts and when I select "People" it instantly displays all my contacts. What the heck changed in iexplorer for me yo lose all the contacts?

This Outlook install is part of Office 2010. Everything was running fine until this morning. I did a lot of searching and found a reference to a Control Panel setting. However, now, it appears that Control Panel has gone missing!!! I ran a utility on the command line, I forget the actual command, to deal with corrupted files. It found some issue, so it said. I rebooted. Nothing has changed... I've wasted the whole day so far.
I don't know if it is related but I seem to also have problems on some web sites displaying images. As if the HTML is displayed only, without the css settings. (Chrome browser) - same on Firefox browser.
Having got all of my standard stuff, including having MS Outlook handle my email accounts, sorted out; I decided to give the new Windows 10 Mail Application a try.
Unfortunately I cannot get it to do a darned thing:-
1. With my Hotmail account I get error code 0x80070032. I've tried a couple of suggested "solutions" without success.
2. With my Gmail account I get "We didn't find anything to show here" or "Still working on it". Either way nothing shows up.
Maybe I should just stick with MS Outlook.
I had almost 300 g of 500 g free and suddenly it went to under 100 g. I did a system restore from before the memory loss and it is still there. can I find these 'files' and delete them or what is the problem?

View 7 RepliesEvery time I turn on the computer, my wifi is always there. when I come back from sleep mode, it is not. no wifi options are available in the network section.
it is not signal strength. I had a slight USB issue, but as I said, I always get wifi when I turn it on, so seems any USB issue would show up when I boot either way..
Is the power surge to the USB ports the same whether you boot from off versus from sleep? is coming back from sleep different somehow than powering up from off?
Following a notification that I had a number of drivers which were 'very old' I updated them.
As a result I have lost the following hardware, which are not detected as being installed:
1. The battery --- there is no battery power
2. Sound ---- there are no audio devices
3. The webcams --- no camera or video devices are detected

View 3 RepliesI am currently trying to convert my mSATA SSD from MBR to GPT. I have downloaded EaseUS partition master and can see that I can convert the disk using the software. My question is however if this is possible to do with my mSATA drive that my PC boots from and has Windows 10 installed or does it have to be a drive that is not booted from. I know there are lots of threads on this however none specify of this is possible using the drive you are booted from.
View 1 RepliesOne of my computers has suddenly lost internet access, and as far as I can remember all I was doing last time I used it was going on the internet to websites I normally go to. All other computers and devices are fine. The computer in question says WiFi is connected, but no programs can access it including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and my VPN. I haven't noticed any other problems on that computer.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Troubleshooting internet connection - no problems detected
Scanning with Webroot - no threats detected
Turning OFF Webroot - no change
When I try to access a website with Google Chrome I get the error message DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET.

I was using Windows 7 with an external wifi adapter for internet access and the computer was perfectly fine. Upon upgrading to Windows 10, I instantly ran into issues that quickly grew worse. From the get go, I was unable to utilize anything on the taskbar, including icons that I placed there like Chrome and the newly installed Edge. The search bar was likewise inaccessible and now, after multiple restarts, I can no longer use the Start button with either mouse or keyboard. The internet icon on the taskbar will not work and even when attempting to access the internet after hitting ctr+alt+del, I find that the computer cannot even detect a connection, even though I know it should be able to. After a few minutes trying to mess around with other fuctions, the entire computer basically freezes and the entire computer locks up forcing a hard reboot.
Pictures and videos will not load (I can click on the My Computer icon on the desktop and access everything there), the computer telling me the files are corrupted. Same goes for documents, and games will not launch (Steam obviously cannot connect).
For lack of a better term, this issue is... weird. It's like I only have selective functionality over certain programs, although its selective enough that it has basically rendered my PC useless. I cannot even figure out how to uninstall Windows 10 because I can't access the Start menu.
I was upgrading from WP8.1 to W10 and all was going fine but then my internet connection went off for about 1 minute and then back on. Ever since that happened, the phone has been restarting (Nokia logo) and then the cogs are displayed for abt 15 seconds and the phone switches off. It repeats this if the USB cable is plugged in. I cannot use my phone.

URL....Beeping sound is playing through normal speakers, not from inside the tower. I have limited movement of the cursor, but unable to click on ANYTHING.I've been trying to narrow down potential causes, by disconnecting various input devices. One thing to note is that this sometimes occurs WHEN an input device is disconnected or reconnected. These devices include:
-Logitech G502 mouse
-Corsair K70 Keyboard
-Logitech M310 wireless mouse (sometimes used for control of Netflix from my couch)
-Saitek X-52 Pro Hotas (with programming software)
-CH Products Flight Pedals
-Xbox 360 controller
-and another thing-
a program called "SVmapper," which enables the use of the eight otherwise useless buttons on the base of the X-52 Pro's throttle. Normally, those buttons are used to start and stop a small timer built into the throttle, change modes, and generally very useless crap. SVmapper intercepts those button presses and instead outputs a keyboard command to the video game in use. (For example: the x-52 doesn't have enough buttons for me to map essential controls AND landing gear control to the hotas. When I use SVmapper, it gives me 8 extra usable buttons!) [URL] ....

According to my searches, I've heard of a (somewhat) similar problem in Windows 8 related to StickyKeys, FilterKeys, or some other UselessKeys option. Only way I can regain control of my PC is by holding the front power button on my tower. I've tried Task Manger to stop processes (doesn't work) and rebooting with ctrl+alt+del (also inoperative). I'm trying to at least make this PC last until I can get a Skylake CPU (+motherboard +appropriate RAM).
General decrease in PC performance. So yesterday I updated my NVIDIA drivers from GeForce Experience (driver version 355.60) and ever since that my PC's performance has dropped considerably. Things are generally slower, but it is most most noticeable in games.
before the driver update I would get solid 60+ FPS in Battlefield 4 at Ultra settings, but now the average is 30-40 FPS on medium settings. Same situation for all my other games. I have tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it, and installing an older driver to no avail.

About 20% of the time whenever I sign into my laptop since I have it locked using my Microsoft account my laptop decides to just lock up and be stuck trying to sign in. I either have to wait until it goes back to sleep or restart it which gets quite annoying. This isn't exactly a Windows 10 issue since I been having it since windows 8.1
View 2 RepliesI can't figure out if it is the skype update or another update that has killed my machine. I can't uninstall skype in safe mode. PC locks after initial boot and ctrl-alt-del doesn't work to get task manager out. Right now it's frozen loading programs to uninstall.
