This expands into: one or more network protocols are missing on this computer windows sockets registry entries required for network connectivity are missing...
The post from SimBy in Network Protocols says to disable netbios over TCP/IP. I don't know how to do that.

Updates :: Lost Files Found But Wouldn't Open
Nov 30, 2015I updated to Windows 10 earlier today. I thought I had lost some important work files and some pics of my kiddo from the last 3 months. Found them by looking in the network folder. Copied them to the desktop to remind myself to send a copy to my external hard drive when I got home. Laptop restarted and when it came back on the files were gone. I could search for them and find them but they wouldn't open. In desperation I restored back to Windows 8 in the hopes that they would be found but they are nowhere to be seen. Don't even show up in a search. System restore shows no prior restoration points.
I have about 70 hours worth of work done that needs done by the end of the calendar year, work that I will have to make up on my own time and not get paid for if I can't find these files. I also have the last 3 months worth of pictures of my daughter on there, her birthday trip to the zoo, visit with my sister, things I want to put in her scrapbook.
Networking :: Spontaneous 0x80070035 The Network Path Was Not Found
Sep 30, 2015I have two computers, both run Windows 10, One runs Pro and the other Home (odd considering both were free upgraded from 7 Pro, but that is a currently unanswered for 2 month question for Microsoft to resolve...). Onto business, my main PC (Triton hereon out) spontaneously throws the 0x80070035 (network path not found) error. The other PC (Prometheus) is always on, its always connected. To add insult to injury, there is nearly always an open VNC connection (Prometheus runs headless, no monitor, hence VNC), so I know the computer is connected at all times and it is at least visible in one way as the VNC connection never drops. This problem has been going on since I got the free 10 upgrade. Both previously used Windows 7 Pro and had no connection problems with each other.
So here is what I have tried so far.
- Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP
- Restart both PCs
- Exit homegroups and make a new one
- Uninstall VirtualBox incase it was trying to use its (VirtualBox) imaginary network on both machines (both are now running it again though after it didn't work)
- Disabling / exiting VNC Viewer/Server on both servers before connecting
The only odd thing I have noticed is my router/modem in one has six IPv6 addresses for Prometheus, whilst Triton only has two. Both have one IPv4 assigned, see this image for info. If it matters, I connect to Prometheus via VNC by name 'Prometheus' instead of its local IP. Incase Windows does it a different way? remember this is spontaneous, sometimes (i'd say about 30% of the time) it connects and I can view and copy/edit Prometheous' files no questions asked, the other times it will throw this error but after a few tries it will let me in.
Network Path Not Found When Trying To Access Computer On Home Network

I have two computers that I'm trying to get to communicate with each other so I can move files back and forth between them. My plan is to make one of them the home's backup and main storage system. the problem is that I can only seem to get one of them to actually communicate equally. Computer 1 is a factory Lenovo Intel i3 computer. Computer 2 is a home made AMD that I just built a few weeks ago.
Both are running Win 10 Pro.
Both are physically attached to the router. Heck, they're physically stacked on each other on my desk....
Using File Explorer, on the left side Panel under Network, it shows both computers: AMD and Lenovo.
Computer 1(factory) is able to the files on Computer 2 easily by going over through File Explorer. But, if I click on one of the files, I get the message that I DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION. If I try to cut/Paste files from Computer 1 to computer 2, I get the same message.
Computer 2. I am also able to see the computer listed under Network in the left panel. When I click on Computer 1 to access it, I get a Network Error Windows cannot access Lenovo (Computer1) Error code 0x80070035
I've tried the Diagnose option and it doesn't work.
If I click on a Drive under Network on the very computer, I can see the drives, I can see the directory list. If I click on a file, I get the error. Example on the left side panel on my AMD computer I select:
>AMD
>C:
>PerfLogs
It's at this point that I get the error: Windows cannot access amdcPerfLogs as an example
I've tried running through Homegroup setup and Googled for days on setting up a network with Windows 10 and can't seem to figure out what I'm not doing here to make these computers talk and communicate with each other. I eventually, want to get all my computers to talk to the AMD so I can use it for a main storage/backup for the home network.
Can't Get Rid Of Message - Unable To Load DLL / Specified Module Could Not Be Found
Mar 25, 2016I have this message at startup of my Windows 10 that I tolerate now since... a few years : Unable to load DLL 'setup_maclook.dll': The specified module could not be found (this is a translation of my french message).
What this is about : I make my Windows updates, I scanned with malwarebytes anti-malware just today, in fact my PC is running really fine, just that there is that annoying message I hope I will resolve someday.
What I did up to now : I did some research, it seems according to bitdefender that this is related to the virus boaxxe. I don't know if I already had boaxxe, but I've already had viruses about one year ago when I was on Windows 8.1, before my upgrade on Windows 10. This is all resolved now.
Other than that, I've passed through the steps of this interesting article : [URL] ....
But I'm not ready to re-install Windows, as I did many tweaks on it to make it lighter (but just recently, so this can't be related to my problem). I did the sfc/scannow thing, I have verified all my drivers using Driverbooster.
Cannot Start Windows Search Service - Error 3 Cannot Find Path

Furthermore, even though the target path is incorrect and no icon is displayed for the shortcut, the shortcut still works.Shortcuts to items placed in the Program Files folder by an installer do not have this problem. Nov 1, 2015I have run SFC /SCANNOW and a large number of files have been found to be corrupted in Windows 10, and cannot be repaired by SFC. The CBS log is too large to attach, but I have extracted a list of all corrupt files attached.
After looking at similar posts, I downloaded SFCFIX.exe by Sysnative and ran that in an elevated command prompt, but the message I got was that source file could not be found. I have also run SFC in safe mode and also run DISM, but neither solves my problem, and the corrupt files persist.

Nov 30, 2015We have written several programs in VB.2010. They all have a setup and deploy project to create the MSI file. There is a launch condition for a specific file.
This same technique is used in many other programs we have. All work in Windows 7, 8, etc. but not in Windows 10.
The file is there where it supposed to be.
Some programs work using the same exact file in Windows 10 and some do not. All work on Windows 7, 8.

Program Files (EXE) Not Found By Windows Search
Oct 17, 2015Program files (.exe) which are not installed (and so don't have a shortcut) are not being found by Windows search. Shortcuts, folders etc with the same name all show up.
Indexing is complete and .exe is defined (as default) in indexing options to Index Properties Only using the File Properties Filter. If I open up the old Windows 8 fly-out style search then .exe are found so they must be in the index.
I found this thread which is the same [URL] .... but the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerFolderTypes registry key doesn't exist in 10.
How to make this work in the normal Windows search? (I'm not interested in any third party search tool).
Networking :: Tcpip6 Not Found - System Error 2
Oct 16, 2015Is it normal that if I type net start tcpip6 on the cmd the result system error 2, not found?
Also, I do not have the file tcpip6.sys on /system32/drivers. Why is that?
Photo Viewer Error - Element Not Found
Dec 7, 2015Have had new win10 desktop pc a couple months now and all of a sudden my photos aren't viewable and live tile isn't working on start menu..
and a window pops up with "element not found " as attached.
Seems to be just my user (live account) which seems more strange.
Cant think of anything that I have done recently to make this happen either.??

Source File Cannot Be Found Error 0x800f081f
Nov 9, 2015Trying to fix this error I am getting it says the procedure called failed everytime i try to open my file explorer on windows 10 so i ran some of these cmd prompts that someone suggested an this is what it is telling me the source file cannot be found error 0x800f081f. here is the log file that cmd saved for me. I even did a computer reset that did not work the error came back again.

Downloaded Files Disappear - Not Even Found In File History
Aug 9, 2015Downloaded files disappear in w10 home.They are not anywhere, not even in file history. Recuva revovery software does not show anything.

Aug 28, 2015I installed Win 10 a few weeks ago and today is the first time that I've turned it on since then. I checked for Windows updates and it found some and appeared to start to download and install them. Then the window disappeared and I checked for updates again. "RuntimeBroker.exe Element not found". What does this mean in Microsoftese?

Mar 16, 2016I have a k430 Lenovo desktop. When I got home last night, I was greeted to a blank white screen that was unresponsive. When I restarted my computer (holding down power button) it gave me this error. I've tried swapping my SATA cable with an older computers cable, and a couple other fixes with the BIOS recommended from the Lenovo site, and I even tried running my windows 8 install disc to no avail. I can feel the hard drive working by touch. I tried booting in 'legacy' and it said no hard disk was detected.

Cannot Transfer Video Files From External Hard Drive (Item Not Found)
Oct 6, 2015I just trashed my old computer and built a new one (moved from Windows 7 to Windows 10). I had quite a few files I wanted to keep, so I stored them all on an external hard drive. I can play the video files in question from the external hard drive, but when I try to copy the files to my internal drive (so that I can store my external safely) the transfer rate quickly drops to zero and then after a few seconds a pop up tells me that the file cannot be found. I know this to not be true since I can still play the files.
