I've been having this problem with the Mail app. The app is able to receive new emails but when you click on a new email to show the contents on the right side, it's blank. This is all true for new emails but for the old emails before the issue occurred the contents are shown properly.
I tried also sending email twice and it was stuck in outbox and there was an error sending my email.
I just went to use the Mail app in Windows 10 for the first time and noticed that a lot of my emails are being displayed in a weird way, mostly with images. Most notably with youtube emails:
Ex. 1 : (personal info has been 'oranged' out). n entire third of the screen is being used by a single line of text (also some words at the bottom of the email) that should really just be directly beneath the 'YouTube' logo banner.
This problem is exacerbated when the app is made smaller with window mode. Is this just normal for the Mail app, or is there a way to make emails and images display 'correctly'?
I have a problem with pop up dialog boxes on Windows 10 not displaying the content fully. Its rather frustrating as I can not see most of the text or the buttons to click on. I have changed my resolutions to different ones and also display size but the problem still persists. It only seems to do this with pop up dialog boxes, such as software installation boxes. My display is a 48" Samsung 4K TV rung HDMI from a Nvidia GTX 980Ti GPU.
E.g. the locally stored e-mail and/or the contact lists?
I don't particularly like Mail, so I have decided to use Outlook.com to send and receive/consolidate all my e-mail accounts as I did for years. (As soon as MS gets its act together so the "old" and the "new/Preview" versions will talk to each other or converts all the "old" accounts to the "new/Preview" version. For now, I have to use one base "old" account and one base "new" account. I have been told privately that it may be a year before that disaster is resolved).
So far, I have removed the linked accounts, and then disabled Mail by using a local account for Windows 10. Does that remove all the previously stored mail?
I guess I can even remove Mail completely as described on the forum but it doesn't seem necessary. If what I have already done doesn't remove the content, does that remove it?
Not sure if this is a MS issue. Default zoom setting for Edge is 125% but Outlook email is suddenly really tiny in size despite Edge showing 125%. The right hand 30% of the screen is now just empty white space. If I change it to 100% and back to 125% then it corrects until I close and reopen Edge. No other tabs are affected.
So, instead of using my browser for my emails I set them up in Windows Mail, but although it will show all the folders it won't show anything in my inboxes. I've tried syncing but to no avail.
the email offered an update to windows live mail ,so I did it and now mail will not stay open ,,, I cant even get to the email to copy its contents here ,I will have to look on my other machine to get it ... I never line the new mail app ,just because it new maybe and not use to it, I will use outlook.com instead for Microsoft mail..
I need to reinstall Windows 10 on a duel booting computer, on separate drives and whilst I can transfer most of the personal data off the Win 10 drive to a new temp folder on the other drive and then back later to a newly installed clean version of Win 10 on the original drive, I cannot ascertain the various email data files (all of them). I have 4 separate email accounts in "live mail".
I have been using Windows Live Mail for years and have 3 email accounts synced in it. After some recent changes to my PC, the program is suddenly very slow to change between email folders. What I mean specifically is if I click on one inbox, and then click on my deleted folder, there is literally a 5 second delay before the view is switched to the new folder. This has never happened before, it normally take mere milliseconds to change between my email folders. Switching between any folders at all, even if they are empty, takes 5 seconds!!
As for the changes made to my pc, I recently was screwing around with my drive partitions and made a really stupid mistake. I accidentally created a new volume which took up my whole secondary HDD (not my OS drive, but where my emails are stored). Some quick google searching got me a free software that recovered my partitions and after a quick reboot my PC appeared to be working fine again. Except for Windows Live Mail... which when I opened had lost all my email accounts. I re-added them, and for some reason they started to download all my emails from the internet and wouldn't recognize the mail folders where all my emails are stored on my secondary hard drive.
It took over an hour to download all the emails again, which were stored in the default location on my OS drive. I normally keep them on a secondary HDD to save space on my OS SSD, so I was forced to delete all the emails on my secondary HDD where I normally keep them and then direct Windows Live Mail to move all the emails it had just downloaded to the location I just deleted my emails from.
So at the end of the day I made a really dumb mistake, fixed it, and then had to do this weird workaround solution to get my email storage working the way I am used to. All this screwing around now when I use my email it is super slow to switch between folders...
I have already tried doing a full defrag of the drive where my email is stored, as well as a repair of windows live essentials from the control panel. I have heard that addons can cause problems like this in WLM but until today I didn't even know WLM had addons. What I can do before I try reinstalling Windows Live Mail. If I do that I will have to re-download all my emails again...
I've already been to the Custom Default Programs settings, Yahoo! Mail is not listed. I want to be able to use a program not related to a browser, with an E-mail link, and it automatically send me to a browser with my E-mail so I can start composing the message.
This might be a really stupid question but i CANNOT find the setting to combine all my email accounts on the Windows 10 email app and it's really frustrating me, i searched all over google and can't find anything I just dont see the option anywhere.
I have an Outlook account, of course, but I don't use it. Instead I use my Yahoo email, but for some reason the new app won't let me add it. Instead it only wants my Outlook email. Is there and way to add a Yahoo email?
This is what I get when I select Add Account in Mail settings.
I am logged in to my Microsoft Account and am trying to add an email account to the Mail app by following Brink's tutorial Mail app - Add or Delete Account in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums. When I get to step 9 and enter an email address and password, I get a message saying "We couldn't find info for that account. .....". This happens for each account on my ISP, Cox.net.
There is one email account shown by Mail and it is the same address I use to log into my MS Account.
I am unable to print any email - either by using [Ctrl] +P or by clicking on the Print button in the dropdown menu. I get a message saying: "Nothing was sent to print. Open a document and print again" .... Windows 10
I got an email from someone I have several addresses for, with the Mail client showing just the name of the sender, not the address the mail was sent from. I want to reply to a specific address, but also to know which address the email came from in the first place. In Live Mail I could check the email details and get lots of info about the email, including what address it was sent from.
As a longstanding WLM user recently switched to Thunderbird, I'm really trying to like the new Mail app as my permanent mail client. But I can't find contacts. Where are they?
Also, I want to export contacts to a database of some sort (CSV?) like I can do with Gmail so that I can organize and then import back to Mail App. If I can't find or export contacts then I'll need to stay with one of the vintage apps.
When I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I started using the built-in Windows 10 Mail app. It's got a nice user interface. However, I'm finding that it takes FOREVER to sync. Well... around 10 minutes. I have 3 Gmail accounts and one Time Warner Cable account. All IMAP based. Any other mail client I've used, including on my mobile phone syncs up in seconds.I'll probably go back to using Thunderbird (which syncs quickly) unless there's a solution to the performance issue.
Just for fun, I am trying to set up my pop3 email account on the application called Mail in Windows 10. I have succeeded in having my MSN and Gmail accounts working in the application, but when attempting to set up my pop3 mail, it will show a triangle with an exclamation point inside it. When I click on it, it opens up an Attention Required with a User Name and Password. Each time I type in the password for the pop3 email account, it still fails to sign on and says "Your [provider] account settings are out-of-date."
I have also tried adding the account under settings>accounts>your email and accounts, and it still says attention required. when I click on manage, the password is too long for it to be the account password. I try retyping in the account password and saving it but it still changes.
On my Microsoft account I use my personal email and two work emails. On Windows Phone 8.1, I can reply to emails and it will send it using the address the email was sent to. So instead of say dan@live.com, the From will read dan@work.com.
I need to be able to do this with the Windows Mail app in Windows 10. But I can't find how or even if it's possible. Is it?
I use Win10 and the email client that came with it (Win mail). Recently I have been inundated with junk/spam emails, but cannot find how to mark them as junk, or stop them coming in win mail.
Most of the junk mail that comes has a "unsubscribe link" but that did not work and I don't want to try again in case I get something nasty on my PC, any way to mark as junk, or even better is there a way to stop it ever getting into my inbox?
