It started since a week or so. I have to manually check for emails to arrive. I went to my gmail account settings and it is set to automatically retrieve the email when it arrives. Not sure what to do.
View 10 RepliesFor 2 weeks my "Mail" app has been frozen and I use Windows Live Mail to get emails. My "Calendar" has stopped working, can't open it up to get appointments nor to add to dates. My "People" app has never worked, I am assuming this app has all my contacts in it, have to use Live Mail for my contacts. Yesterday "Edge" would come up when I clicked on it then would flash and disappear behind the task bar but today it is working, not complaining about that. When trying to do "updates" it says it can't. When running Norton Full Scan it get stuck at Microsoft Tap Tiles.

View 19 RepliesI'm seeing random email sent from the app go from the outbox to literally NOWHERE!! it's not in sent and it DOES NOT reach who I sent it to .. it somehow disappears into a black hole from the outbox
if you're reply or sending something important, you currently CANNOT guarantee it's working correctly - unless you keep checking the sent folder.
I have one question, Brink. How do I Select All emails at once, and delete all emails at once?

I am using Windows Live Mail on Windows 10 . When I receive an email to one address ,it appears in both !! How to get an email to one address only goes to that address and not both
I upgraded to windows 10 and downloaded windows live mail, it works, but when I download new emails it deletes all old and unread emails.
Yesterday I turned on sync as suggested, then I downloaded 10 new emails, I opened 5 and left 5 unopened. This morning I downloaded my emails, as before all previous emails downloaded yesterday disappeared.
I've had win10 about 2 months now and mail app wouldn't work and weather app stopped after the first day, this week Photo app stopped and usb 3 port locked up and some games graphics were slow. I made a recovery drive on a flash drive and reloaded win 10, nearly every thing came good and then I downloaded new drivers from the OEM like Nvidia and the rest of my faults came good. This involved reloading all my pictures and music and software, it took a day but was worth it!
It seems to me that the updates from MS don't take hold until you do a reload. I received updates several times but nothing changed so try a reload of win 10 and get new drivers for what's not working.My win 10 is near perfect, I get mail ok and my games graphics are good , I do TS2016 on an i5 laptop ok.
My Win 10 Mail has stopped receiving messages it sends them to the server (Bigpond) but nothing has come through in the last 10 hours and at least 30 mails are on the server.
View 1 RepliesAt some point in the last couple of weeks the Send To/Mail Recipient function has stopped working. When I select a file and do the send to, Windows starts thinking, the explorer window that I have selected this from stops taking input and then eventually, with no error messages, the explorer window closes and desktop explorer resets.
My Default mail client is Outlook 2013 (15.0.4745.1000)
I have been using Windows 10 for a while now with no issues, I currently have three HDD's installed in the PC, one that's used to boot windows, a secondary 250GB for extra storage and a 1TB drive to storestream movies from.I was aware my 1TB HDD was not 100% as it came out of a faulty NAS drive, but after a full format it worked perfectly for over a year with Windows 7, but after the 10 upgrade it would completely disappear after a certain period of time, this was resolved by changing the power options to stop Windows turning off the disk.
Now i'm faced with Windows trying to perform a repair on the hard drive at boot, which takes ages to complete and boot windows, then after a restart it does the same which is frustrating.Question is how do i turn off this disk checking feature in Windows 10?For the mean time i have unplugged the HDD and all is working as normal, but obviously i would like to be able to use it and use other software to check the disk.
Upgrade from 8.1 to 10 seems to be going OK, (on almost new laptop), until screen appears "checking updates".
After over two hours I gave up, and retried following day - same result !
I am not exactly sure what that is, and I don't have problems with it as of yet.
But what could it be, it kind of slows down the booting process and its bugging me.
Could it be from the bios, windows 10 or something else?
I just upgraded my win 10 10240 to 1511 10565 but where is a listing of activation commands.

I downloaded windows 10 from the ms site (the automatic icon never appeared on my pc), and am using the media creation tool.
All goes fine until 'Getting Updates', when it hangs on 'checking for updates'.
I have tried playing with the settings in Windows update, but suspect the problem lies in there somewhere... my windows 7 was recently proving unable to install all its updates also. I've tried various solutions for that but no luck.
Is a clean install the answer?
Ever since the last updates installed way over a month ago, Windows never finds updates.. just checks and checks and checks. No errors, no messages, no progress... Kept on for hours....
View 3 RepliesI've decided to upgrade my Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 with the free upgrade. Unfortunately, it has been stuck "Checking for Updates" for the last 30-45 minutes. Is this normal? I've updated two laptops, one Windows 7 Home and one Windows 8 and it didn't take nearly this long. I'm afraid I'm stuck in some kind of loop.

View 5 RepliesPreviously I had an update which windows kept on updating and undoing the update for some reason. After which i tried to find for a solution online and somehow deleted the entire of the Software Distribution folder located in the C:Windows folder.
Right now my windows update is unable to find any updates at all as it is forever on the "Checking for updates" section. I've tried using the command prompt to scan the SFC ("sfc /scannow") and also the re-creation of the SystemDistribution folder through stopping the service, deleting it and then starting it again... but it's still the same.
So, instead of using my browser for my emails I set them up in Windows Mail, but although it will show all the folders it won't show anything in my inboxes. I've tried syncing but to no avail.

I have backup copies of my windows mail files on a portable hdd (JRS, Text docs, XML and PAT files) These were created on my old Vista PC. I am now using a new PC with Windows 10 and would like to import them. I have no way of exporting them to create a CSV file. How do I go about this?

View 1 RepliesI have a ziggo account for email. New emails are coming in, but since I updated Windows 10 outgoing emails are not being sent. I checked the name of the server for outgoing emails (smtp.ziggo.nl) and this was right. What else can be done to send my emails?
