View 1 RepliesI got a new laptop last weekend and I've noticed an issue with it. I believe it is a software problem.
The screen is a 1080p screen and everything looks great however in some apps, the text becomes blurry. The blurry text only appears in nested sections of an app (not sure if nested is correct). What I mean is, it will show up in installers or event viewer but not firefox or explorer etc.
I've attached some images below.
Can't manage photos and videos using windows 10.
View 1 RepliesI've dual booted win10 with 8.1, I decided to delete win10 and make a clean install of the latest build, I went to Disk management and I found many partition more than it was before installing win10 in the first place.
These partitions are for restoring, how to manage them? how can I know which are for win8? and which are for win10?
I enjoy talking to friends through Xbox Live, but I recently sold my Xbox One for financial reasons. I have been using the Xbox App to communicate with them using Party Chat. It's fun to sometimes play soft music through the microphone just to have in the background that's routed through my computer, but there are a few issues with doing so.
Since there are no audio settings built into the Xbox App, I've had to MacGyver a solution in a way. There is an application called Voicemeeter Banana that allows you to route certain device audio into other devices, and is compatible with their VB Audio Cables, the freeware alternative to VAC. Through this I have my headphones set as my Default Communication Device and my primary cable as my Default Device. One of my two secondary cables are set as the Default and Default Communications Device for recording. In Voicemeeter I have my microphone routed to the secondary cable's input. My primary cable's output is routed to my headphones and my secondary cable's input as well.
Here's some screenshots of the setup for better clarity:
The problem here doesn't lie in Voicemeter, though. It lies in the Xbox App, as these settings work fine with Skype or just browsing and listening to videos/music. For some reason, ever since the newest update for Windows 10, when I use these audio settings the Xbox App party system does not detect any audio coming from my recording device or any of my friends' microphones. I believe it might have something to do with Exclusive Mode settings, but nothing I've tried so far has worked. So far, I've reinstalled the drivers on at least 7 different occasions, I've messed with the Audio Formats extensively, I've tried switching up the cables testing for bad drivers, and I've reinstalled the OS from scratch countless times (to 8.1 then upgrading, not straight to Windows 10).
Is there any way I can get this set up to work, or am I just asking for more than is currently possible?
I have lost all my Favorites in Edge. I have recovered a copy of the desired Favorites and have placed these favorites on my desktop as a file folder. The file structure has all the folders, and within each folder, the links to all the favorite websites. I have tried placing the contents of this file into the following location:
C:UsersAdminAppDataLocalPackagesMicrosoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbweACMicrosoftEdgeUserDe fault
I understand that this is the default location for Edge Favorites. With the desired "Favorites" folder placed and verified in the above location and I open Edge and click on Favorites and all I see under Favorites are two folders "Favorites Bar" and "BookmarksBar" (as expected both currently empty). I had hoped to see also an expandable "Favorites" folder with all the subfolders. How to use the previous referenced Desktop file folder or its content to restore my Favorites in Edge.
After activation, the IE Favorites + Bar didn't install from Windows 8.1. I attempted to install using The Hub but it came back with 'Couldn't import favorites' from IE. I managed a manual install using cut and paste from the legacy IE file to the Favourites file in Win 10. This was successful for both Favorites and Favorites Bar, but it only lasted until the the machine was rebooted. The Favorites/Bar were once again missing from Win 10.

Where are MY FAVORITES...years and years of adding website links to my favorites bar...now has disappeared...
I followed the steps I found, but it didn't work. From old W8 laptop onto a usb, then onto new W10 laptop. It says finished, and "you have successfully.........". But then I check and they are not there.

View 1 RepliesI wonder more and more about the purpose of Edge when it lacks so many capabilities IE and other browsers have.Surely not just to be able to make webnotes, which is pretty awesome, but......... I can't find a way to organize favorites in Edge. Is there a way?
View 9 RepliesI can't figure out how to add new favorites to my favorites bar since going to windows 10. I click on the star to add and click on "add" but nothing happens.

View 1 RepliesI have all my Favorites from IE 11 and Chrome in the Favorites bar in Microsoft Edge, but it shows the icons and titles with them, how do I get only the icons to show ?, would save a lot of space in the Favorites bar.

View 16 RepliesI really like IE feature to easy import/export Favorites to pen drive or any other destination. EDGE offers only to import Favorites from IE which is a deal breaker for me. I have seen advices to copy Favorite file from EDGE directory which is buried deep in the system and cumbersome to use. Is there plan to add this IE feature of easy import/export Favorites to EDGE?
View 1 RepliesI have three grumbles. One, why is the Favorites panel on the right side? What benefit did that create? How to move it to the Left? Can't be done?
Two: My favorites are not alpha sorted by me. On my IE browser, they were arranged and listed by frequency of use, and importance in my work. Edge default sorts them alpha anyway. Can I Stop this unwanted sort feature?
Three, I like my favorites panel to come up with the browser, and not want to click on another icon to show it.
When I first upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 10 all my Favorites imported into Microsoft Edge. At the time I didn't know that the Favorites for Microsoft Edge are stored in a different folder other than the Windows 7 folder of C:usersmikefavorites. I was told that they are stored in the folder C:UsersMikeAppDataLocalPackagesMicrosoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbweACMicrosoftEdgeUserDefaultFavorites
but this is only true for the Favorites that imported during the original Windows 10 Update. Any Favorite that I delete from the Favorites list in Microsoft Edge doesn't get deleted from the Windows 10 Favorites Folder. In addition any new Favorites I create in Microsoft Edge do not show up in the Microsoft 10 Favorites Folder either. So where the heck are they?
I just updated to window 10. I found all my old data, but what about my favorites list on explorer ? can that be recovered?

View 6 Repliesi have windows preview for both my PC and surface pro 3.
I updated my pc first and got Microsoft edge browser and created my favorites tab.
I then updated my surface pro 3, but i dont see a way to sync up the browsers so that my favorites show up on my microsoft edge on my pro 3. I rather not have to do the favorites bar again.
Is there a way to sync these up?
I've updated 3 of my PCs with the fall update and I can't seem to get Edge to sync favorites. I imported favorites on the first PC, and the other two onyl show the option to import from another browser on the favorites bar. All three are signed in under the same MS account and set to sync under settings. I'm assuming that the favorites bar should just start sync.
View 3 RepliesToday I started trying Microsoft Edge for the first time and noticed that I can't find my list of favorites which I have on Internet Explorer. In WP8/8.1 the list used to show up after I hard reset my phone, so I am wondering if Microsoft Edge has its own list of synchronized favorites, or if I have messed up with my WM10 where the browser couldn't synchronize to my account.
View 3 RepliesI am currently customizing my Win10 upgrade. I like to customize my Favorites … Folders before single URLs, and not have things necessarily in alphabetical order. So, is there a way to Export your Favorites to a file, so that when said file is Imported to another PCs browser, the Favorites retain the customized order?
