Many Windows Functions Not Working - Unable To Install
Aug 9, 2015
My Windows 10 is having major problems. So many that I would rather just remove the entire thing. I found a website that said you can revert to your previous OS in settings, but my problem is I cannot even get there. The entire task bar and start menu are not working, although I can see them. I saw in another post that Windows Logo Key + I opens up settings, but my Windows Logo Key doesn't do anything.
I also cannot click on the notification icon to open up the settings. The few things I can do: double click on desktop icons to open them, right-click on desktop, and Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Task Manager freezes when I open it (Ctrl + Shift + Esc). How can I remove Windows 10 given these constraints? Also, the time on the taskbar is also not changing from when I turned the computer on.
After several restarts the windows button started working, so I took the opportunity to remove Windows 10.

This started yesterday, I can use the windows searchbar ONCE, then later on it will not work until I restart my computer, I cant open the adjust menu where I change my background and windows theme. My sound is randomly turning off, I've tried different headsets so that's not the problem.
I feel that my windows is overall not working like it should, Is there a way I can go back to Windows 7 or some update I've missed? I just noticed I cant play youtube videos either

I upgraded to Windows 10 from 7 and I notice that some of the "Start Menu" functions do not work.
For example:
- When I use "Pin to Start" nothing gets pinned.
- When I try to use "Don't show in this list" under the "Most used" section the app still remains showing.
- When I go under "Settings > Personalization > Start" screen and turn OFF "Show most used apps" this section is still visible under the "Start Menu".
How I can fix these issues and get the "Start Menu" working properly again?

New build. From a fresh install of windows 10 i try to install the drver for my IGPU Intel HD 530. each time i do that i get a BSOD with this message:
VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE igdkmd64.sys
Or sometimes it's
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXEPTION_NOT_HANDELED igdkmd64.sys
I've tried drivers from motherboard manufacturer CD, website and intel and some autodetect driver software. I always get the same behavior:
The screen start blinking several time ( black screen) before showing the BSOD then reboot and repeat it self. Even the driver downloaded by windows update have the same impact.
I've managed to install it in safe mode but when i restart in normal mode i get the same behavior.
I've tried 2 different monitors, VGA and HDMI , tried with UEFI on/off => same result.
I've tweaked once the tdr delay to 8 second, but didn't work.

Due to corrupt windows files my pc is unable to start. i am able to go into the bios, but after that it will freeze on the windows logo during start up. i have made a usb windows 10 installer and tried to start the pc up using that as my hard drive (went into bios and changed it to use that as my hard drive) but it still freezes on the same screen. I even unplugged my hdd and booted up but the same thing happens so I don't believe the problem is with my hd.

The new Operating System has damaged the mouse drag and drop usage in many of my programs that I use.
It takes between 5 and 20 times to effectively grab an item and move it to the location correctly with many false results in the meantime.
Also, many other mouse uses are affected as well, Marking items in lists and selecting multiple items really has become very hard to do.
Mostly MSN seems to have ignored these new problems and has made no effort to point out that they even exist.

you can set both your sleep & hibernate timings in either Battery mode or AC mode; very straight forward; it is a page in settings where you can a) set up a "power plan" , and on the same page, a setting for 'how long before the unit sleeps", ie-1 sec, 5 sec, 1 minute, 5 min, 15 min, 1 hr, 5 hour, Never (in both battery and AC modes); no matter what I set it at, even "Never" the screen drops off in approx. 3-5 sec ....

The actual upgrade process went completely smooth, without a hitch. HOWEVER, after restarting the now upgraded Windows 10 environment does not allow for basic functions such as taskbar, web browsing, right-click desktop, click on Edge or Notifications and nothing happens, etc etc...

I have made repeated attempts to download and install Google Chrome onto windows 10. I have tried multiple actions according to web sites. It downloads but when I try to access, I get an error message that says the web page cannot be found. I have been told that Firefox will not allow install due to incompatibility issue. I tried contacting Microsoft but cannot get through due to HIGH level of phone traffic. I am not able to get to answer desk for unknown reason. I am unable to install the .NET Framework 3.5 on my Windows 10 box. I tried enabling it through Programs and Features, I tried enabling and installing through DISM, I tried SFC /scannow. Everything is failing. Mostly I get error code 0x800736B3 saying that "The referenced assembly is not installed on your system". Sometimes I get Error 14003. I obviously need .NET due to many apps needing it to run. This is a brand new system. What can I try?

I have a feeling this is bios/uefi related
Got a sabertooth z77 with two ssd on raid 0 (intel) another hard drive for backups (Regular sata) and another storage card (pciexpress sas highpoint 2720, with raid 5)
Windows 10 doesnt seem to like this.
Even booting the dvd itself its a drag and hr wont recognize the raid 0 not even with drivers (driver load will cause a watchdog blue screen)
Windows 7 and 8 dont mind. At all.
I feel like the csm thingy might have something to do.
Bios is latest. Sas raid is for storage only. Ill search for the manual of the board as the printed one doesnt have the options i got on the screen

I'm about to build my first desktop, and I have a laptop with Windows 10 (upgraded from 7 which it came with). I don't plan on using the laptop anymore, so is it possible to install the laptop's hard drive into the desktop then move the Windows install to an SSD? If not, should I just buy a Win10 key or would it be possible to contact Microsoft about transferring the OS over?

My computer is trying to install Update to Windows 10 Home, version 1511, 10586, but can't. It claims there is no system reserved partition, but there is. This computer was upgraded from Windows 7 to 10, and immediately after doing that I installed a Samsung SSD and migrated the system to it using the software that came with the SSD. The migration went well and I've been using Windows 10 for months.
All of a sudden, when trying to do some updates it claims it cannot update the system reserved partition. The partition is there, it's 100MB in size. So I tried booting from the install CD, which I burned to do the upgrade (so I know it's a good disc). My computer recognizes there's a disc in the DVD drive, but no matter how I set the bios boot order it will not boot from the DVD, so I can't do a repair on the SSD.
