Messages Not Syncing Across Devices And Messaging App Only Gives Option To Send Via Skype
Dec 1, 2015
I'm a little confused as to whether we can use the Messaging app in W10 desktop to send SMS via our Windows Phones. Is this actually the case? Because if it is, my messages are not syncing across devices and my Messaging app only gives me the option to send messages via Skype, which is annoying since a few people I know don't have W10 mobile yet and/or have devices from competing companies.
Did we receive any word whether it would be possible for users to sync SMS messages across not only phones but computers as well? It would be very convenient for me if I could respond to someone who messaged me from my computer rather than my phone when I'm at home or doing work.
Okay days after upgrading to windows 10 my skype broke , whenever i try to make a group call i cant i get circle and whenever i am invited to a group call i can pick up and talk but my chat is getting this erorr : Instant messaging isn't currently available. This may be resolved shortly ......
Just wondering if its possible to make multiple devices desktops look the same. For example if you change your desktop on your PC it could be made to automatically change on your other devices.
I have windows 10 preview 10565 installed on two computers. I have "Sync your content" on in Edge. Should my bookmarks get synced between the two computers? Do I need to do something else to get it work other than turning syncing on?
If it doesn't work, is there a file I can go to on one computer, copy it, and they move it to the other to get the bookmarks? Would really prefer it to sync though but at least this would be a start.
Unable to resize a batch of photos using the built-in Windows 10 resize feature with the Send To option:
1. Open a folder containing photos. 2. Select some photos. 3. Right-click selected photos and choose "Send to." 4. Click on "Mail Recipient" in the listed options in the pop-out menu. 5. Notice that the "Attach Files" dialogue box displays. 6. From the drop-down menu, I selected "Smaller: 640 x 480" 7. An estimate of the new total file size is given... press the Attach button. 8. Notice that the progress of the file re-size operation displays, "Preparing to send."
Receive error message, "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action..."
Not true, I went into the Control Panel and associated the Windows 10 Mail program as the default email program. Please see attached screen shots as verification/clarification. Is there something I am missing? I am using Windows 10 Pro.
I can't get surround sound to work on my Windows 10! I have a HDMI Cable going from my gpu (R9 270x) to a projector, and from that an optical audio cable is being sent to my BluRay player with the speakers connected to it... I get sound from the front left and right speakers but thats it, when I go into the playback devices and configure it 5.1 surround sound is not an option.
I was using skype as usual, put my computer to sleep, and woke it a few hours later. (Laptop) Anyways, I tabbed over to skype, and started fiddling with video options (I was trying out a spare webcam since my laptop's is horrible). I compared the two feeds for a while, and clicked the drop-down option for my laptop camera to compare again.
This is when my skype stopped responding, and I closed it with Task Manager. When I opened it again, I received an error telling me I was already logged on. When checking Task Manager for any skype processes to close so I could entirely restart the program, I found this: [URL] .... I have it highlighted. I can't end the task.
Having changed from windows 7 to windows 10 MS word now requires one to log into Microsoft Exchange to obtain address book MS exchange apparently is now required (at a PRICE) to send an E mails direct from MS word.
Laptop Samsung NP300V5A. Sound stops working about a month after Win 10 upgrade. No changes done at the time.Audio devices show up under Device Manager, but not under Playback/Recording Devices. Same for Realtek Sound Manager - it doesn't see the devices. I can install, delete and update drivers under Device manager but it doesn't make any difference. It is not a physical problem, tested on Linux live CD.
Solutions tried: -Installing various versions of HD Realtek Drivers (including windows update version) -Installing/Removing Realtek software. -Enabling/Disabling devices under Device Manager -Called spirits of ancestors. Seemed like it worked for a while, but ended up being a joke. -Did system restore to various dates. -Restarted in safe mode -Restarted various services such as Windows Audio, Windows Audio Endpoint Builder, Plug'n'Pray, Power, etc. -Checked system, application and driver even logs. -Tried a couple of registry fixes. Angered spirits of ancestors. Turning gray.. -Reinstalled chipset drivers -Rebooted about 30 times -Sound Device Troubleshooting finds no issues -Display Disabled Devices is enabled
I don't know if this is any indication that the Messaging app on the PC will function for texts in the future or just a bug but all of my texts from one particular contact show up as Skype messages through the PC Messaging app. However, they are SMS texts and not Skype messages. This is my only contact that I have both skype and a phone number for. And it only shows texts from when I got my first WP in April 2014 to May 2014 (which is a lot of texts for this contact). The photo below is of the texts on my phone and the same exact texts with timestamps on the Messaging app for PC. I only overlaid the red bars to protect the name.
I am running Windows 10 Build 10565 on PC and Build 10572 on Mobile (However, I did see it while using the previous mobile build as well).
I just installed Windows 10 mobile (v10586.107) and I wanted to try to send a text message from my desktop through my phone to my friends. I could have sworn that I saw an article on Windows Central that explained how to connect my desktop and mobile through Cortana, but I can't seem to find it now.
Did I imagine this? Is the texting feature not implemented yet?
I was thinking it would be really great if my desktop were to inform me when I received a new message or missed a call since I hardly check my phone.
When i click on a phone number in an email on the new outlook app for PC in windows 10. It pops up the contact with the option to message them using "ms-messaging".
Just curious as to how long its been there? There is also the option to call the number that takes you to the store to to select an app that can do it.
I got an error message. saying "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client". I check the outlook option and it is set to outlook as a default program. I also went to default program in the control panel and that is also set to outlook. When I open a saved mail on m computer with an extension .msg it will get that error message.
Is there a way to RE-install Phone, Photos, Windows Store, Messaging, Maps, Zune Music, Zune Video, and I'm not sure what else, on my windows 10 pro? My grandson decided to mess around and uninstall them
I have a lumia 929 that I installed w10 on. I receive texts containing media content and cannot open them. is there an additional app required to do this or is this an issue with mobile 10? how do I open the media contents, I am able to receive texts and respond to them, just cannot open the ones that have media content, all I get is an illustration that says download, when I tap that nothing happens.
I'm using microsoft lumia 640XL. i updated latest win 10 build. but its very slow app opening camera, dallier, massaging, social media app. i want to know if i downgrade to 8.1 the win 10 updates app are work in win 8.1? like massaging app when can reply by lock screen.
My new build is restarting randomly, and unlike with windows 7, there are no messages telling me what happened. What's the best way to view system logs that might have information about crashes?
I am unable to sync the native email app. When I open it, it shows "Not synced yet". When I press the Refresh button, I get "Still working on it..." indefinitely. It just never finishes and never shows content. My work email does sync but not my Hotmail one (and I am logged into my computer using a local account). It has been like this since day one, four days ago.
