View 6 RepliesSince installing the November Windows 10 update (11/17/15) none of my favorites are being stored in the default Edge folder. While in Edge the favorites are available but when I go to the default folder they are not listed. Is there another location they may be being saved or has my default location somehow been changed? My AppData folder shows a creation date of 11/17/15 with no modifications being made in favorites since that date.
View 1 RepliesWhen I first upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 10 all my Favorites imported into Microsoft Edge. At the time I didn't know that the Favorites for Microsoft Edge are stored in a different folder other than the Windows 7 folder of C:usersmikefavorites. I was told that they are stored in the folder C:UsersMikeAppDataLocalPackagesMicrosoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbweACMicrosoftEdgeUserDefaultFavorites
but this is only true for the Favorites that imported during the original Windows 10 Update. Any Favorite that I delete from the Favorites list in Microsoft Edge doesn't get deleted from the Windows 10 Favorites Folder. In addition any new Favorites I create in Microsoft Edge do not show up in the Microsoft 10 Favorites Folder either. So where the heck are they?
i have windows preview for both my PC and surface pro 3.
I updated my pc first and got Microsoft edge browser and created my favorites tab.
I then updated my surface pro 3, but i dont see a way to sync up the browsers so that my favorites show up on my microsoft edge on my pro 3. I rather not have to do the favorites bar again.
Is there a way to sync these up?
Today I started trying Microsoft Edge for the first time and noticed that I can't find my list of favorites which I have on Internet Explorer. In WP8/8.1 the list used to show up after I hard reset my phone, so I am wondering if Microsoft Edge has its own list of synchronized favorites, or if I have messed up with my WM10 where the browser couldn't synchronize to my account.
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to import all my currentbookmarks from I.E. Explorer into ME.
Google Chrome was the source of my initial bookmarks.
Here are the steps I performed.
1. Went to Google Chrome bookmarkmanager, exported a HTML file of my new bookmarks.
2. Launched Internet Explorer 11.
3. Manually deleted all my oldBookmarks in IE 11.
4. Imported HTML file into IE 11,
5. Launched Microsoft Edge.
6. Imported Bookmarks from IE 11 into Microsoft Edge.
When I examined my Bookmarks in ME, it appears many are missing. Basically, it looks to be an old version of Bookmarks from IE 11 that is being imported into ME.
Any new websites I bookmarked in Chrome within the past 2 year are not showing in ME favorites. I rarely used Internet Explorer as my Browser, and only did a full import 2 years ago. I understand IE 11is not being supported by Microsoft. But how do we get the latestBookmarks into Microsoft Edge after and upgrade if IE is my only bridge.
I tried to import from IE browser into ME browser, but that option has been disabled.
I've been using Windows 10 for about 2 months now and do like the feel of it.Now, I have a problem with the Edge browser not saving a website I try to favorite in a new folder under Favorites. When favoriting a website to Favorites or Favorite Toolbar, is saves the website as the star becomes yellow. But, if I make a new folder under Favorites and try to save to it, no luck. The star does not change to yellow nor does it favorite it under the new folder created.
Additionally, when I try to remove the folder created under Favorites, right clicking gives me the "remove" option but when I select it, nothing happens.
I have lost all my Favorites in Edge. I have recovered a copy of the desired Favorites and have placed these favorites on my desktop as a file folder. The file structure has all the folders, and within each folder, the links to all the favorite websites. I have tried placing the contents of this file into the following location:
C:UsersAdminAppDataLocalPackagesMicrosoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbweACMicrosoftEdgeUserDe fault
I understand that this is the default location for Edge Favorites. With the desired "Favorites" folder placed and verified in the above location and I open Edge and click on Favorites and all I see under Favorites are two folders "Favorites Bar" and "BookmarksBar" (as expected both currently empty). I had hoped to see also an expandable "Favorites" folder with all the subfolders. How to use the previous referenced Desktop file folder or its content to restore my Favorites in Edge.
I wonder more and more about the purpose of Edge when it lacks so many capabilities IE and other browsers have.Surely not just to be able to make webnotes, which is pretty awesome, but......... I can't find a way to organize favorites in Edge. Is there a way?

View 1 RepliesI cannot reorganize my Edge browser favorites bar. Is this still coming? Also how to shorten the titles or remove them is a concern
View 16 RepliesI really like IE feature to easy import/export Favorites to pen drive or any other destination. EDGE offers only to import Favorites from IE which is a deal breaker for me. I have seen advices to copy Favorite file from EDGE directory which is buried deep in the system and cumbersome to use. Is there plan to add this IE feature of easy import/export Favorites to EDGE?
View 1 RepliesI have three grumbles. One, why is the Favorites panel on the right side? What benefit did that create? How to move it to the Left? Can't be done?
Two: My favorites are not alpha sorted by me. On my IE browser, they were arranged and listed by frequency of use, and importance in my work. Edge default sorts them alpha anyway. Can I Stop this unwanted sort feature?
Three, I like my favorites panel to come up with the browser, and not want to click on another icon to show it.
I've updated 3 of my PCs with the fall update and I can't seem to get Edge to sync favorites. I imported favorites on the first PC, and the other two onyl show the option to import from another browser on the favorites bar. All three are signed in under the same MS account and set to sync under settings. I'm assuming that the favorites bar should just start sync.
View 3 RepliesI am likely missing something here, but I can not seem to figure out how I can sort my favorites in Edge alphabetically?
When a favorite is added it is added to the bottom of the list, and so on. I would like to sort them alphabetically if possible.
When I set up Win 10 a few days ago, I imported my IE settings into Edge. All my favorites are there, and the ones I had pinned to my favorites bar are there. But I can not seem to figure out, how to add a favorite to the favorites bar in Edge?
View 4 RepliesIs it possible to set the favorites on the favorites bar to just icons like you have the option in IE11?
I'm right clicking all over this program, but I don't see hardly anything that can be customized.
Since the last update, all the favicons in my favourites bar have changed to a 5-point star.
If I hide, then show the favourites bar again via settings, the correct site favicons re-appear, but then revert to stars the next time I open Edge.
I did a big cleanup of all my Favorites in IE11, then deleted all my Favorites/Bookmarks in Chrome and Firefox and re-imported them from IE11 to make sure everything is up-to-date, at least on my primary Windows machine.
I'd like to do the same in Edge but I can't find an easy way to delete all of my favorites at once. I can only see how to delete folders one by one, a tedious chore since I have a lot of folders. Is there any way to delete all Favorites at once in Edge?
Once that's done, I need to understand how the browsers sync with each other. To my surprise, IE11 on my main PC apparently synced folders from Chrome on my Android phone. I don't know if Edge and/or Firefox are doing the same but I'm trying to start fresh with that favorites folder I cleaned up in IE11 with a little support from AM-Deadlink 4.7.
How do I copy Win10 Edge Favorites to different computer also running Win10 Edge?
View 1 RepliesWhere Does Edge Store Favorites.
View 5 RepliesI have to many favorites and I do not like having to have them displayed on the side. I like edge but its current way of displaying favorites renders it useless for me. I want to use it because the newer browsers display web video better, but I don't know how to use it right now.
View 1 RepliesWith the last update for win 10 I lost most of my favorites. I created a new folder in favorites but cannot find it on my PC. Where is it stored?
View 6 RepliesI have saved my favorites in the default folder, they appear and work in ie, but when I try and import them in to edge the error states:
Couldn't import favorites
Not very informative?
Recently updated to Windows 10 and found that Chrome now has a tendency to freeze so thought I'd give Edge a crack of the whip!
I imported all my Favorites but now realize I have far too many collected over the years and half of them are obsolete! Rather than painstakingly pruning them, I want to wipe the whole lot (just from Edge) and then repopulate Favorites manually.
(Also, can you not simply drag and drop from the Address Bar into the Favorites Bar as you can on Chrome?
I'd like to try Edge, but Edge won't even see Firefox as one of my installed browsers even though it is my default browser. I'm not going to use a browser that requires me to enter hundreds of sites one at a time. Any way to import FF favorites since it won't import html?
