Mini PCI Card - Cannot Use / See In Network Connections
Sep 9, 2015
So originally I upgraded my mini PCI card and was trying to get that working... It was recognized in the device manager but not the network connections.. I could not see the adapter to use or enable/disable etc despite having the drivers up to date. Now I have my old card back in and now have the same issue with it! It is present without a problem and with the newest drivers in network connections... But I can't use it, can't see it anywhere else! I try to create a new connection in network connections and it does not give me wireless as an option.Running Windows 10 64bit on a Sony VAIO SVT151A11u laptop. The old wireless card that is reinstalled is an Atheros AR9485WB-EG.

What these Windows system connections were for? Just want to know so I can decide whether to block the destinations, or executables in my firewall. They occurred while I was logged in, but not running anything yet. There are other connections, but I've listed these ones because they seem to be new to Windows 10.

Windows 10 upgrade results in the Network Center not showing any network connections. The troubleshooting wizard does not detect the issue or rectify it. There are a lot of reports on the web supposedly related to pre-installed Cisco VPN or other VPN software.
The downside is that without this feature, crown jewels... Cortana and Edge do not work.

I need a program which will show all the incoming and outgoing connections of the system from various process. The program should be able to point out the incoming weblinks as well to any programs in order to trace them back via web browser.
Or in other ways, an app to know from which links the other programs and downloading their files in order to trace them back and download them directly with a download manager.
An Advanced TCP View which shows full address of files.

I have a pocket Wifi Device, however, it is NOT using Wifi connection, as I have it connected to my PC using an USB Cable. Every morning I turn on my PC, it creates a new network connection, for example "Network 7"
How do I remove Network 1 to 6, and where are they located?
And how do I stop it from happening, as it seems it will keep going to Network 8, then Network 9 and so on.

Ok so got a new usb WiFi adapter. I installed the driver first which I downloaded on my phone then transferred to my pc via usb cable. Have tried reinstalling multiple times, still won't work. I'm guessing the problem is there's no win 10 drivers for it. NOTE: I did have a old usb adapter working with no driver before but not even that's working even with drivers uninstalled. The new adapter shows up in device manager with a problem indicated with a code 10.But not in network devices.

I'm troubleshooting a PC that was recently upgraded a few weeks ago from windows 7 to windows 10.Up until today, there were no major issues. However, suddenly the computer stopped connecting to the internet. It's not picking up any wireless signals and even with an network cable plugged in, it doesn't connect to the internet. The network adapter picks up as working when I check everything in the device manager, and when I look up the network printers, I am able to see them. But when I try to setup a new network connection, I get a message saying "no network hardware detected". And when I try to print random documents, I am not detecting the printers.

I've bought a completely new ASUS VivoPC that comes with these specifications: [URL]....
My problem with this computer is that it will not always wake up from sleep mode, especially during longer sleeps over the night. Normally I press a button and it turns on immediately, but sometimes my keyboard and mouse refuse to respond and my computer sleep indefinitely until I press the power button behind the PC. I know that the computer is still sleeping because the strip of light in front of the computer starts blinking every time I put it to sleep, and there is no change in its behavior when it won't startup normally. After booting it up it puts me right where I was before putting it to sleep like nothing happened.
I have updated windows 10, BIOS and all my drivers except for the newest GeForce drivers because version 355 and 358 gives me a BSOD (Driver Power State Failure) that loops on startup indefinitely. The only way to fix it is to revert back to 353 through safe mode or use system restore point. I have already written an extensive post about it here for more details: [URL]....
I have also tried formatting my PC several times, but the problem still persists even on a brand new install. The PC is only two weeks old so I should still have my warranty in check. Despite the two problems I really like the PC. I have other VivoPC's that works perfectly, but they do not have both intel and NVIDIA graphic drivers. So I have been suspecting that these cards conflict somehow.

Mine Dell Dimension 9200 bought with Dell Wireless keyboard & mouse.
This has been working flawless inWin 7 Ultimate x64. The keyboard still uses the Dell's BT Mini Receiver and the Mouse is Logitec M510 with it's own Logitec unifying receiver.
Since my upgrade to Win10 just now, the wireless keyboard is non communicable with the system. The Logitech mouse is working.
Under device manager Bluetooth -Broadcom Bluetooth 3.0 USB has a yellow exclamation mark. My attempt to update the driver - gets a message as the latest is installed.

I have installed Windows10 on a Gateway FX530 desktop PC. All has gone well with one exception. The OS seems to recognize that there is a card reader attached, I can see them through Device manager. When I insert a SD card the system completely ignores the device and will not allow me to access it. I have tried to change the drivers, without success. This card reader worked just fine with Windows 7 Pro and there was no indication that they would not work with Windows 10 when I ran the upgrade test.

I'll have connections available on my computer (Windows 10 Home 64-Bit HP) but whenever I click the connection menu, they don't show up, which means I have to reset the modem, wait the 15 minutes it takes, and then the connections FINALLY show up. Once I'm connected however, if I click the menu again, the connections wont show up. The image I've connected shows what I'm talking about. I can wait for a long time and connections still don't show up. I was wondering if there's a way to troubleshoot this without resetting the modem every time I want to use my computer.

I upgraded to Windows 10 from 7 a few months ago, but unlike other users with this problem, my wifi started working perfectly fine. This was still the case this morning, but after I came out the shower, suddenly all my wifi connections were lost. It's a similar situation to that described here: [URL] ...., except obviously it didn't occur right after the upgrade. It's annoying that I missed exactly what happened, but oh well.
I have tried seemingly everything, including endless restarts and resetting the router, and I know it's definitely not a problem with the wifi since I'm typing this on another device on exactly the same network. One of the solutions I found was to go to the Power Management tab in configurations of the wireless device, and uncheck "allow the computer to turn this off to save power" - I found it was checked, so I unchecked it, but it still hasn't made any difference.
Initially, the wifi icon changed to an unplugged symbol with a yellow exclamation mark, but after uninstalling Hamachi, it's changed to the usual icon you get when wifi connections are available (wifi symbol with asterisk). However, the problem's been exactly the same. I have a Dell Studio 1555, which admittedly is quite an old machine, but it was fine until now.

I have a new HP laptop win 10 installed and I like it very much but I have an issues with One Drive .
I use my WiFi connection at home for browsing and usual stuff which is fine and One Drive uploads to the cloud with no issues and of course does not affect my data allowance as my Internet connection is unlimited.
In my workplace I do not have a land line and use a talkTalk MiFi dongle with a 5gb limit . I connected to the MiFi and carried on as normal but realised that the One Drive used my data quickly and soon I had a message that I had no data left .
My enquiry is can I get One Drive to ignore my MiFi connection and only do the uploads on my home internet connection only ?

I installed Oracle's virtualbox on a windows 10 machine. I'd like to download software to it like adobe reader. I can't. I can start up internet explorer and connect to the web and if I click on links it goes to those links. If I try to go to google.com I get a message that it can't make a secure connection. I tried downloading adobe acrobat in windows 10 and transferring it with a shared folder to the virtual machine. I was able to transfer to the virtual machine but when I tried running it, it tried to connect to the web and could not. This looks to me like a security problem because the browser can connect to some sites in the virtual machine and only complained when they were secure sites. Is there some security setting in windows 10 that could be blocking virtualbox from connecting to secure sites?

I recently purchased an all in one HD PC which has windows 10 as its operating system. When trying to set up broadband connections and email accounts I have encountered problems. Technicians in both cases said there were probably corrupted files in the system. Another problem is the when the computer goes into sleep mode or is shut down the modem also switches off. I have been told by Telco technician that the modem is ok. It is only connected to PC by Ethernet cable.

My Dell XPS 8900 worked perfectly fine for several hours, but now won't let me connect to the Internet. Another computer in the same room gets online without a problem, using the *same* internet cable.
I also get error messages on the Dell when trying to use system restore, and when trying to reset the computer. (I thought if I just started over it might fix it.)
There is an icon on the screen lower right of a little monitor, with red X over it. When I click that it tells me "no connections are available." I've unplugged and replugged everything (modem, router, computer) and nothing has worked. I have Windows 10. Anything I should do?

I have a large number of TCP connections open even immediately after a reboot. It's normally around 200 with only Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Know Brainer, Norton Security and my VoIP phone (X-Lite) along with a few other minor programs and normal Windows 10 background tasks running. I run Malwarebytes regularly and never find anything wrong and have Norton Security set at maximum levels. I'm attaching a file from TCPviewer that was taken immediately after a reboot as an example.

My desktop is connected to my router by Ethernet. However, the printer I use is in my wife's office on another floor. It is a wireless Epson Artisan 730. I have added a Dlink DWA-171 wireless usb adapter to my desktop to print wirelessly to the Epson.
However, every time I want to print, I have to disable my Ethernet connection so the WiFi connection will see the printer. Then I'm done printing and I re-enable the Ethernet (faster, more stable).

Why is it that, at random intervals, my Ethernet connections suddenly disappears (sometimes saying "An Ethernet cable is unplugged" or some such) only to magically reappear when I just disable and enable and connection? It's a PK5001A modem provided by CenturyLink which works fine 99.9% of the time.

I have recently bought a dell xps 8700 and it worked great for about 3 days then the wifi would disconnect and not recognize any connections even though every other device in our house works perfectly. I am 100% certain it is an issue with the computer itself and not the wifi network i had to return the computer for a new one twice already and the issue has happened with every single one. i have tried updating the network and chipset drivers witch resolves the issue for about 2-3 days. what would cause the exact same issue to re appear on 3 separate products is beyond me. i am also aware of the issue with old vpn software from windows 8 but the computer came with windows 10.

My assistant in the other room accidentally unplugged the router and I lost connection. I told her to plug back in. I clicked the correct connection when it appeared, but I did it too soon. From that point on, when I clicked the systray icon, nothing happened...no display of available connections. Over and over I tried clicking the systray icon and no window popped up to show available connections. If I hovered over the icon, it did say connections available..
Then I right-clicked and went into the Network & Sharing Center. I could never find where it showed available connections like in Windows 7.
Finally, I had to reboot and I had my connection back.
If this happens again, where can I find available connections so I don't have to reboot? Or even better, is there a way to get the systray icon to again be responsive?
