Today I updated my win8.1 to win10 on Lenovo Y580. Everything works perfectly fine, but I make a habit of switching to previous/next pages in chrome by swiping 3 fingers to the left/right. It has been this way since windows 7. Now swiping changes tabs in win10 (like alt+tab) and it's really irritating.
Is there a way to change the registry in Synaptics to previous options or am I doomed to work with backspace?
I have a problem trying to figure out how to change my desktop icons appearance (changing the size of the icon, the icon spacing, etc.). Back in Windows 7, this was accomplished by right-clicking the desktop, selecting "Personalization", etc
However, I do not see this option in Windows 10. All I can do is change the font size of the icon, but that's not what I'm trying to accomplish. I'm trying to make it bigger, such that the title of the icon fits on 2 rows. Where is this located?
This problem didn't happen to me before upgrading from Windows 8. If I'm deleting, copying or moving a folder called "include", explorer.exe closes itself and reopens after a few seconds. If I'm only opening the folder, the green progress bar moves very slowly and stops at about 99.9% even if the folder doesn't contain anything heavy. Originally explorer.exe crashed even if I was opening the folder but I found a thread where disabling Windows error reporting fixed the problem. For me it didn't, just changed it a little bit. View 1 RepliesIn the metro version of IE for Win8.1, you could swipe right to go back to the previous page in the browser. I cannot find any way to do that with either IE or Edge in the just released version of Windows 10.
Is there any way to simply swipe on the page to go to the previous page so that you don't have to go up to the top left corner of the screen and hit the back arrow?
I've been unable to find a way around this, but since updating to the 8/05 Win 10 update, I've lost the Action Center (Swipe from right edge) and open programs (Swipe from left edge) gestures on my Surface Pro 2. I've uninstalled the update and regained the gestures, but once it installs again, the same issue presents again. I haven't found a place to enable/disable gestures like these. This is repeatable each time I uninstall and reinstall the update.

View 1 RepliesI want to change the three finger action on my laptop touchpad. I have win 8.1 driver synaptics driver installed. The three finger gestures can't be changed, only enabled or disbaled. Now, the gestures do the forward and backward navigation on left/right three finger swipe and pageup and pagedown action on up/down swipe. I want to change the up/down or if possible left/right gestures to the new actions introduced in win 10.
researched a bit online and I think that maybe they can be changed through registry edits.
Secondly, I also want to change three finger press to Notification centre. I have a option to launch any program with this gesture so I want to know that if an executable shortcut can be created to windows notification centre (shortcut: Win+A).

View 1 RepliesI own a Dell Inspiron N5547, updated from W8.1 to W10 Pro a few days back. The Dell Touchpad came installed with the upgrade, and for the first 2 days, all the gestures were working perfectly. On the third day, the three finger scroll up (for task view) stopped working and invokes Cortana instead. I went on the Dell Touchpad program and tried to untick the three finger tap for Cortana, but to no avail. Its really annoying, I tried to restart my latpop but faced the same problem.
I tried to search for solutions, one included uninstalling the Dell Touchpad from Programs and Features, then downloading the latest version from the Dell website. I did so, and installed it again, and once again for the first day the three finger scroll was working perfectly, but when I woke up the next morning, it started invoking Cortana again.
I understand i have asked this before, but my touchpad still refuses to disable. i have tried 5 different versions of the synaptics driver, and i believe im currently running on the best version (according to my laptop). If I go to control panel and disable it from there its still no luck. its making me regret my decision to update as it worked perfectly before.
View 6 RepliesI have a HP Pavilion laptop with Synaptics Touchpad V7.5 on a PS/2 port. The driver version is 19.0.12.95.
After installing Windows 10 and updating all of the drivers, I tried playing a game and found that I can't use my keyboard and mouse at the same time, so I turned off PalmCheck and tried to continue- but it still does not work.
I have also tried to go into the Windows 10 version of the setting and set to 'No Delay'.
I've tried to update my drivers but every time it says I already have the best version of the drivers installed.
Here is an image of what my settings have been set as (from another user that hasn't received a reply). But after exiting and pressing apply, it saves the settings but I still can't use the mouse and keyboard at the same time.
I just upgraded my windows 7 original install on my Toshiba Laptop (3 years old) to the Windows 10 Home Preview Build (10130 was installed). Everything appears to be working EXCEPT my touchpad will not scroll. It is a Synaptics V7.5 on PS-2 port. I went to the Synaptics website and don't see a windows 10 driver for this...How can i get the scrolling to work on the touchpad (everything else seems to be working on the pad)..
View 9 RepliesI found a problem in my pc (Windows 10 Pro 64 bit ver 10586.104 [not insider]) that: When I start up computer, Synaptics startup too, and that what I want, but while playing some game, I have to adjust the resolution lower (HD), and after that, I turn it back to normal (full HD). Therefore, some object in that desktop and taskbar didn't diskplay correctly so I have to restart explore.exe in task manager, but after I restart explorer, synaptics didn't work any more (the icon in the taskbar is disappear,too). (Note: Include can't use 2 finger zooming, rolling, ....) how to start Synaptics back again ? (I can't find where to start Synaptics if it crashed or ended)

View 2 RepliesMy laptop touchpad scrolling stopped working this morning after I updated my gpu driver. I went to the packard bell website and looked at the touchpad drivers for my laptop. There is a synaptics one and a elan one.
I have them both installed on my laptop but it still isn't working and there is still no virtual scrolling option in synaptics. These are the options that I have in the synaptics settings:

What do I have to do to get the scroll trackpad feature to work again? P.S, when in device manager, even though there is an ELAN tab in mouse properties, Only the synaptics driver shows up under the mice section in device manager. Does this mean that the synaptics driver is replacing the ELAN and I need them both for the scroll to work.
I just got this laptop (Dell Vostro 3558 i3), a few days ago i upgraded to windows 10 using the media creation tool. After the upgrade, the touch pad works but I cannot scroll. I have tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them. When I upgraded there was nothing listed that went along the lines of synaptics in the control panel (uninstall).
I have tried installing the drivers of windows 10 and windows 7 from the dell website, what happens is quite weird, the installer says it installs without any errors but nothing happens, there is no synaptics program listed in the control panel.
Excuse me if I left any important details out but it is the first time that i have come across this issue and don't know what info I should give. I should also note that before I upgraded the touch pad worked along with the program of the drivers, now all I get is the usual mouse options and in device manager it recognizes it as a P/S2 mouse.
