View 5 RepliesCan I use switch user option on power option list or on start menu list ?
View 3 RepliesWhen I click one of the shortcuts in the start menu, I am informed that windows cannot find the specified location.
When I try to navigate to the location, windows wont let me select it. Windows is looking for a file to navigate to when I get that prompt but, I need to specify a folder to get the shortcut I want. I tried to use a shortcut as well but, when I select, it opens the file location and cant be used as a specified file from what I can tell.
I wanted to add some programs to the top of the left side of the start menu (free space on the screenshoot). I have read about the "Pin to Start List" if you rightclick while holding shift. But this seems not to be working anymore!?!?! Is there another possibility to customize this list or to re-add the function? I don't want to use "recently added apps" or something like that ...
View 9 RepliesHow do a get a program that I use quite often to get on the "Most Used Programs List". I realize that I probably have to use it more for it to appear on the list. But I want to know if I can get it there even though the program is not used as often as the others.
View 2 RepliesI accidentally remove all in the list by clicking "Don't Show in the List" all apps is now not listed to the most used app list. How can i undo it? I try to turn it off and on on the settings "Show most used app list" option but does not undo it. 100%x
Note: The Cmd, VLC Player , Control Panel & Sway are my recent app i used after i do it.
Is there a way to make all apps list instead of groups (0-9, A, B, etc.)?
When wif win7 i created my own folders in all apps menu.
I can place a new folder or custom shortcut in the correct start menu location (current user or all users) but it will not appear in the All apps list. If I go to the folder or shortcut and right-click Pin to Start it will appear as a tile in the start menu, but still will not show up in the All apps list. I think this behavior started with Version 1511 since it was working for me in the previous version.
View 9 RepliesSo i changed my language from Norwegian to English just to try Cortana, and then i switched back again. But then i noticed that the "Most used" list of apps in the start menu was gone. Any one else who have experienced this? It has been empty for 24 hours now.
View 3 RepliesIs it possible to add this kind of Control Panel shortcut (like in screenshot below), with subfolder/subitem list, to windows 10, without installing Classic Shell or similar programs?
View 6 RepliesWhats up with the missing text labels? Sometimes its my start menu sometimes its the right click menu.
View 7 RepliesWhile trying to discover why my most used list was not showing up on the start menu, I learned that when I right click on the task bar and go to properties, the Start Tab is not present where it should be.
View 4 Repliesmy start menu. Originally, at the bottom there was a search bar. Then I installed Start10, made some changes, and then decided to uninstall the program and go back to the default start menu. The uninstallation required a restart, which I did, however now the start menu bottom search bar is gone. I tried going through the start menu settings but no luck. So I tried reinstalling Start 10, but it says that the computer must restart to finish the earlier uninstallation before a new install can begin. I have tried turning the laptop completely off multiple times but get the same result.
View 1 RepliesSuddenly the "Settings" and "File Explorer" options are missing from the start menu of my Windows 10x64 Pro installation. I tried going back to a restore point when I knew they were there they still didn't come back.
View 3 RepliesI finally upgraded from Win7 to Win10. The start links (Documents to Videos) all come up as "Missing Shortcut".
After about a minute or so, it changes to the "Problem with Shortcut"
For Videos, I clicked the "Delete it" option and it completely removed it.
I have tied many combinations of turning on/off the links in settings and restarting to no avail. Also, the folder in app data it refers to does not exist under any profile.
I'd rather not fill up the Tiles area with these links when they could be there vice blank space.
Just got this error and couldn't find anything like this solved. The icons (or maybe the apps) are missing from the start menu.
View 3 RepliesI have several computers running Win. 10!
This problem only occurs on my 32bit machine, where the Left Click Mouse on Start Panel doesn't work any longer?
I remember that after I had upgraded to Windows 10, my local account wasn't available and the system logged me in with a temporary profile. Then when I logged in with my account, some of the tiles from the start menu had disappeared. I've tried opening powershell and executing the "GetAppx" command line, but that didn't work. I don't even know what the cause of it is.
What I did was simply refresh my PC, preserving my personal files and documents, although I'll have to re-install a few of my apps. But the start menu appears to be back to it's usual state. Still not sure who is at fault though, me or Microsoft...? :/
Maybe it's just me, but it is my opinion that the OS build is buggy (I have 10586.0).
Right click empty part of taskbar, go to "properties". I have 3 tabs. Taskbar, navigation, and toolbars. According to several sites I have read, I should also have a "start menu" tab with a "customization" button to change some things on the left side of the start menu, and also enable pinning things to the left side. This option is missing for me. Is this something that has to be enabled with a registry tweak?
View 9 RepliesI uploaded W10 yesterday morning, loved it, no problems at all. Turned on my PC this afternoon and when I click on the start button nothing happens. Also the live tiles have gone and some icons in the taskbar are missing too!
View 1 RepliesOn the start menu, the tiles that I made small sometimes half disappear for some reason. Also, not all of my small tiles half disappear, it's only some of them. If I restart the problem is fixed but it usually comes back later.
View 1 RepliesSo my laptop, which has been on Windows 10 for a while now, updated last night after I went to bed. So now the start menu won't open and I don't have the icons on the bottom right corner (time, wifi, etc.). I read several old posts about doing the "powershell" thing but it won't let me because it said I have to run it as an administrator on the console. So I'm stuck there because it's my laptop, wouldn't I automatically have admin rights on my own device?
View 1 RepliesApparently, I have yet another problem with Windows 10. I noticed today on my laptop that that when I right click on an application from the start menu there are options such as Pin to Start, Pin to Taskbar, Uninstall, Run as Administrator and Open File Location. However, when I right click on an application on my desktop PC, the only option I have available is Pin to Start.
