View 1 RepliesI just got Windows 10 and it's giving me a whole bunch of problems that really annoyed me to the point where I want to go back to Windows 8.1. First thing is that my mouse keeps showing the busy/loading symbol right next to it constantly. It just appears and disappears in like a split second. Every time it does this it messes up my computer in some way like if I'm playing Minecraft and I'm holding the W key, it would cancel the action of the W key so I can't even move forward. I've checked all solutions and I have like no back ground applications running besides Steam, Skype, Origin and Norton. The other problem is the fact that I can't download Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Beta. I redeemed my code and everything and I can't play it.
View 8 RepliesI have this constant loading going on somewhere in my computer. it interferes with my games or if I put anything to full screen it automatically pulls it out of full screen and minimizes it. It also interferes with my typing. If I'm trying to type in an address to go to a website the flashing loading will make it so I have to keep clicking in the address bar to finish typing out the address. auto saved usernames are also an issue. where I'll type the first three letters of my username. It will pull up then immediately disappear. I have to be really fast to click it or result to the constant clicking of the username bar to put my username in.
Also an issue with right clicking anything. the right click "open, delete, new folder, etc" will come up and before I can move to click what I want it disappears. I restarted my computer and it went away once. I thought the issue was resolved and paid no attention to it. I then turned my computer off and back on after a virus scan and the problem persists again. I tried turning the computer off and on again but again the problem continues. how I can find whats constantly loading/causing the flashing loading icon next to my mouse?
I upgraded to Windows 10 the other week. It continually has the mouse "Working in Background" (normal mouse with circle beside), which causes problems when attempting to access menus (closes them after half a second) or drop down lists. I've tried disabling everything I can think of, updated all the drivers I can spot, and killed every process I can find but no luck.
I've seen the first thing that people ask for in these cases is the list of processes which are running.
Windows Explorer 8.6%
Google Chrome 5.7% (Still flashes when chrome killed)
Google Chrome 5.0%
Task Manager 4.2%
Desktop Window Manager 2.9%
Service Host:Remote Procedure Call (2) 1.8%
[Code] .....
my cd drive icon was showing and working then stopped showing up. I did as much research as I could and purchased AVG driver updater and it worked for a few days and won't work again.
View 1 RepliesWhen I first started windows (windows XP) i always entered the BIOS through the use of the f keys at what i call the "initial boot menu" as i got older i jumped with the changes with windows and now i am at windows 10 after making the jump from 8.1 .
However I noticed my option on the "initial start up menu" to load up BIOS instead of my OS is no longer present and i must always go through the windows system to access it. while this is not always a problem , it is now that i am required as a college student to use multiple OS , i must now use a dual boot system, which is severely impractical with what seems to be the newest versions of windows forcing me to go through their system to access the BIOS menu.
Is there something wrong here software wise in the windows 10 operating system that i dont know ? or is this a common thing for more modern versions of the OS?
I have tried troubleshooting in a few ways with no results in bringing back my option to Boot the BIOS but this is what i have tried so far
Turned off "fast startup "
reset the BIOS/CMOS by "setting to defaults in the BIOS menu"....
The loading symbol keeps flashing which is effecting what I can do on my computer. For example on Microsoft edge I will be typing and then it will suddenly select the text, so when I do my next letter it deletes everything I have done. It also effects things like drop down menu's or when I left click by going of it so I don't have time to select the option I want.
This does not seem to happen all the time but it currently is and has been since I turned my pc on.
It has only happened since I have downloaded windows 10. I do not have windows 8.1 on my computer as I deleted it so I cant really go back to download it again.
This happens only in file explorer. If i press right click, no matter if on a specific file/folder or just on the blank space, it will stuck on the round circle load. And it will never show up the menu, the only way to end it is to force close the explorer. Instead, if I do the same on the desktop, for example, it works perfectly.
View 1 RepliesAlso, icon thumbnails wont show up in folders, only on desktop when refreshed.
View 1 RepliesRecently I have downloaded the bookwalker pc application on my pc. Whenever I double click on the icon on my desktop or try to run it as admin, my cursor would show that its loading but the app never launches. The specs of the bookwalker pc app clearly states that it is compatible with windows 10, and yet it would not launch.
Here's the link to bookwalker for ref: [URL] ....
Laptop starts up and I wait for some time but it's still gets stuck and the loading icon appears and then I have to press the button to switch it otherwise it take ages to start.
View 1 Repliesjust turned on my pc and i can see an icon in my system tray saying " Get Windows 10 " . What is this ? Is it like the final version or demo ?
View 1 RepliesI had an issue with Firefox where if I clicked the Taskbar icon, the program would not show on the desktop. HOWEVER, if you hover over the icon, it showed what it would look like if it were expanded. I restarted it in safe mode and got it to work again.
Just now WORD is doing the same thing. I had 3 WORD windows open and then they stopped showing at some point. However, they appear if I hover over the icon (set to "always combine, hide labels" in taskbar). I can see that they are in the same state that I left them, but they won't show on the desktop if I click them.
So right now, WORD won't open at all, even though the icon thinks it is open. This is really a problem since I need to finish some work with WORD ASAP.
Few days ago I believe I installed some updates, since then when I hover over a icon it stays highlighted and its incredibly annoying. I have tried right click and shift+right click, it doesn't work, don't know what to do.
View 1 RepliesI am unable to access the windows store but i can connect to the internet with nearly everything else...
Not a massive issue as I don't use the store much but it is quite annoying as it only happens sometimes.
I believe all my drivers are up to date... the MOBO is a asus b85m-itx..
I have just updated Windows 10 to Version 1501. I had to install Windows 10 from the Microsoft Update site, as the auto Update stalled 3 times at 91% .
Since then, when I open Mail from the Start Screen, although it opens OK , and there is a white horizontal line on the task bar, the Mail Icon is not there.
If I hold the cursor over the area where the icon should be, the small display comes up and I can click and open it from there OK, just the icon is missing.
I don't like needless screen animation, so I find the Win10 "Busy" indication very irritating. Is there some way to replace it? On Win7 I've got the old hourglass, but I'd be willing to accept the not quite so old spinning colored circle if the hourglass is no longer available.
View 2 RepliesProblem with the logon screen with windows 10. I upgraded on the morning of Saturday 8th August, without any serious problems. However, later on in the afternoon, I had to do a restart, after a virus/malware scan and removal of infections. The OS was updated at this point, after which a serious problem occurred. Once the OS reached the logon screen, it started flashing on and off between Logon screen and time/date start up picture, with the cursor showing busy. It also reported an error message to do with LogonUI .
I had no way to Logon, or to open task manager, so i had to boot into safe mode, and attempt various problem solving solutions read elsewhere for this issue on the net. None of these worked, so i had to roll back to Windows 7 for the time being. Should i upgrade again, this issue will have to be resolved.
Finally, though, i'm led to believe that LogonUI is malware, and not an important system file, but should it be removed, would this be the cause of the issue?
Sony VAIO laptop, model VGN-NW265F, 4GB RAM.
I wiped disk and did a clean install of Windows 7 Professional and waited over a month before upgrading to W10 in mid-January 2016. During that month prior to upgrade Win 7 performed like a brand new laptop.
After upgrading from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro in Jan. 2016 the hard disk is constantly busy when laptop is idle. I thought it just needed a few days to complete indexing and other Windows background tasks but it has been a month now and the disk is heating up from overuse though no errors or warnings so far.
If I touch the mousepad or keyboard the disk settles down and activity light still flickers but not as much as when left idle. I also upgraded a HP desktop to Win 10 and the disk on the HP desktop does not do this whatsoever.
I tried turning off disk indexing; Windows search service and other settings but that made no difference so I turned them back on.
I understand the behavior appears normal in that when I use the laptop the disk settles to a much slower rate of busy but after a minute or two of being idle the disk activity speeds up again and will continue flickering at a high rate all day and evening unless I touch mouse or keyboard or put it to sleep.
Laptop gets pretty warm from all the disk usage and due to this I am now putting it to sleep often when not using it which I have never had to do before.
I ran PROCMON but I do not know how to read results.
Ever since I installed Windows 10, Google Chrome usually makes my mouse cursor display the busy animation randomly. I'm 100% certain that it only happens on Google Chrome. I tried using Edge for a while and it didn't happen. I have the same configuration I had on Windows 7 which worked totally fine back then.
View 1 RepliesI use left handed mouse, and swapping left / buttons works OK. I also set the wheel button to be "double click". But the wheel button brings up the context menu instead of double click. If I change to right hand mouse, the wheel button gives double click as expected. how to make the wheel button give double click for left hand mouse?

View 2 RepliesAfter a driver (I think one related to Intel graphics, but i am not shure) was unsuccesfully installed, I had a BSOD problem, hard restart, kernel error message (unable to reproduce it afterward). Some applications from taskbar partially work (Office, Skype), some not. I am unable to open the Start menu (but the right click still works). The Edge disapeared, I post from anothe PC. Restarted a few times, tried to restore to a previous backup of drivers - nothing works.
View 1 RepliesCurrently, my OneDrive icon is sitting in the 'hidden icons' section. I have seen pictures of the icon sitting on the taskbar next to Edge, the store, and all the other taskbar icons... how do you get that icon on the taskbar? I have tried all the normal ways I can think of (click and drag onto taskbar, going into taskbar settings, etc) but I can't get it to be removed from the hidden icons area.
View 2 RepliesI just installed Windows 10. I'm having problems loading many of the websites I used to visit when I had Windows 8.1 installed. I'm getting the message "There is a problem with this website’s security certificate." with Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge just shuts down when certain websites are accessed, Wikipedia and pbase.com for example.
Also, Facebook won't display any images or allow me to upload images.
When I boot up windows 10 it goes into a loading screen with a purple (my accent color) background and loads forever. This was completely random after a normal restart, it had worked fine up till now.
I made a windows 10 installation disk to acess repair options. Tried every single option on it with no luck (including scf scan, dskchk, and other CMD prompts) every one gives some sort of error or reason for not working, what can I do? I can get the specific error messages for a few methods if needed but it's very time consuming as my usb stick keeps giving an error after a few reboots of messing with command prompts, and I have to redownload windows 10 let it verify and copy over to the drive which is an hour long process.
