Every so often, more often when I'm watching a video on the internet, the mouse and screen freeze.

Having problem with the mouse Win10 on the second computer, freezes every now and again, I have to dis-connect and re-connect the mouse USB connector.
View 4 RepliesWhen turning on Windows 10 my pointer will not show up for the password phase of startup. If I do get to the desktop, the pointer is either gone or it is frozen. I shut the computer down and after several startups, it will come back on maybe for a few minutes. I have checked the device manager for the mouse. Looked for updated versions. Ran a troubleshooting for it. Nothing says it is wrong. This has only happened with the upgrade to Windows 10. It used to be every so often, now it is daily.
View 1 RepliesI'm suffering from PC freezes. It freezes when I'm in windows but not in post. When it freezes my mouse wont move and keys won't register.. so it's just really stuck. I've tried waiting for about an hour but it didn't woke up. It happens really random. While loading a game, watching pictures or idle.. the time interval is very random aswell, couple times a day or once every couple of days. All possible with this freeze.. My current solution is holding down the power button so it shuts down, and then rebooting it. I'm not OC-ed and the pc is about 4~5 years old.
Now I'm wondering if there is a list of things that one would do? I don't really mind doing a lot of extra checking, since I normally don't check my system. A full check would be nice actually. I have tried running mdsched.exe and it showed 0 problems. I'm currently checking my hdd from within windows. (Rmb the partition and select run check) I did not upgrade anything on my pc other then my gpu a couple of years back. But it used to run fine even after the upgrade. The os i'm running, comming from vista pro to 8.0 pro to 8.1 pro to 10 pro could be cause aswell I guess, even tough I did preform a nearly clean install for the win 10.
The reason I want a list of testing programs, tips and tricks is that I can't find a solid list. There must be a certain guideline for finding 90% of the common computer problems? Check hardware first then software?
So after the upgrade to win 10 I've been have an annoying problem, if my pc goes idle for a few hours the screen will go black and I can't do anything but a hard reset. I looked in my event viewer and saw lots of errors so I just wiped the event log to start over and maybe find out whats going on.
I also ran a system scan in the command prompt to see if there were any errors but it found 0.
on power up the PC freezes before getting to password screen. When I reset the PC (second power up ) it continues to the password screen and all is O/K.
View 2 RepliesI had a computer man in to install Windows 10 and remove Windows 7 and I wish I had never done it. I can be writing away and then all of a sudden it freezes and comes up with a couple of pop ups before waking up again. Occasionally the computer freezes solid and I have to manually switch it off. I have the computer man coming again tomorrow which will cost me more money but I'm getting close to just giving up and buying an Apple.
View 19 RepliesAlthough normally random, the freeze (to which this dump file is related) happened whilst listening to music in firefox, using teamspeak 3 and playing guild wars 2, after 2 hours with no issues.I have run memtest86 in multiple memory configs, only to receive under 10 errors in test 13 which I understand is OK.The errors are systematic for my type of memory (all sticks show similar errors in test 13 regardless of memory slot).

Two week ago I upgraded to windows 10 and immediately installed a new SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD Drive. All is working fine with the exception of Netflix that freezes avery minute or so in medium and full screen, (works ok in minimized screen).
I understand Netflix needs "Silverlight" to function which is supposedly supported by Windows 10 but not by Windows Edge. I've tried running Netflix on Explorer but still have the same problem.
My Windows 10 tablet randomly freezes and brings me to a blue screen saying something along the lines of this pc ran into problems and will restart in 30 seconds or so.
View 2 RepliesMy PC keeps freezing randomly, can be while gaming, online or even when it is just sitting idle on the desktop. Iv'e reinstalled windows twice and updated all my drivers but it still keeps on happening.
My Specs are:
Intel Core i5 4430 - no overclock
1 x 4gb DDR3 RAM
Gigabyte B85M-D3H
Nvidia Geforce GTX 770
Cooler Master RS-500-PCAP-I3
When the crash happens there is no blue screen and the screen just freezes. If there is any sound playing it just goes into a buzzing sound and stays like this until I reboot, after this the PC starts like normal. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?
I recently updated to windows 10. I play WoW often and lately when I get a skype call with the game on everything freezes then screen goes black. It's recovered once but typically requires me manually shutting the laptop down. It's an HP and came with 8.1. I bought it new and have had it under a year.
Wanted to add that I can usually hear sound for a while after the screen has gone black. I even continued a skype call for about 3 minutes until the sound cut out too.
i've just upgrade to windows 10 nd am facing black screen with cursor
View 4 RepliesRecently there was an update from windows on windows 8. A problem came about when i realized that every time I spectate in a game or watch some TV series, the graphics starts to lag and becomes jerky. I thought it may be a problem with OS so i upgraded it to windows 10, but the problem still exists.
View 4 RepliesMy Laptop is Lenovo Y50. All of a sudden , on logging, the screen went blank with a mouse pointer & i couldnt enter password. No Control, alt, Del works. I didnt do any Windows 10 Update. Now the laptop is as good as dead. Only i have to reinstall the OS? There is no other option?
View 3 RepliesWhen I start up a game or even sometimes Chrome. It will start to flicker and say that its not responding really quick, about a second. Then at some points it will start flickering constantly really fast.
View 1 RepliesI currently have a Windows 10 laptop that was working without issues for a while, however after a restart the laptop appears to load windows but never get to the login screen, only show a blank screen with only a mouse icon visible.
I have tried various Windows supplied options with the following outputs:
1. Boot into safe mode (with and without network) - this again only loads to a blank screen with only mouse icon visible
2. Window reset - appears to get stuck on 8% - only to show an error saying reset could not happen, reverting changes (option to reset with files saved was chosen - as current files are required)
3. Start Up Repair - issue not resolved
4. System Restore and System Image Recovery - N/A as Windows cannot find previous image or restore point
5. Booted in Low-Resolution video - again same
I recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7. Since the upgrade I have noticed the following:
When my computer comes alive from screen saver mode, sometimes though not always all the icons are missing. The task bar is there but clicking on any item there does nothing. It's like everything just seizes up.
While using PowerPlanner7, I believe I may have accidentally turned off display or brightness to 0. I am unsure if I successfully made it back to the desktop after rebooting(my attempt to solve the problem). I have tried searching the Internet for shortcuts that re-enable screen or turn brightness up(my keyboard brightness buttons do not work since I am on Mac and the functions keys are all remapped- holding fn then function is same as just pressing function now too)
View 5 RepliesI upgraded a desktop computer from Windows 7 ultimate to Windows 10 and there seems to be an annoying black screen issue which happens before the login screen.
After the Windows loading logo, the screen stays black for about 60-80 seconds (and all I can see is the mouse cursor). After 60-80 seconds, the login screen pops up and everything works fine and I can login.
I already tried the following:
- Updated NVIDIA drivers
- Completely removed NVIDIA drivers to see if it was a drivers problem
- Booted into safe mode, still happens
- Checked event viewer, nothing weird in the logs
- Made the PCIE slot the default slot for the primary monitor in the BIOS
- Ran the sfc /scannow command, no violations found
- Ran all Windows updates
- Took a look at the services and startup processes, nothing weird here
- Turned fast boot off/on, no change
- Full Malwarebytes scan, no infections found
I ran a xbootmgr trace log, here's the summary XML file: processSummary numProces - Pastebin.com
I'd like to keep the fresh installation option as a last resort.
Afther installing the intel chipset driver the pc crashed showed a blue screen with large tex saying that the pc run into a problem and is collecting data. Then it turned off and started booting went past the windows booting logo and than showed a black screen with a mouse pointer that constantly changes between loading and busy... you can move the mouse pointer on the black screen and nothing else... I can't boot the laptop and I don't know what to do
View 1 RepliesI recently tried windows 10... didnt like it. Did the recall back to windows 7 option. Let it do its thing. View 1 Repliesi just formatted my pc. I got the following screen; URL... My mouse and keyboard are not working eventhough there is a light burning in my mouse
View 1 RepliesI know there is others who have this issue of the flashing blue working circle next to the mouse pointer on the screen. I have read through he forums and tried what I could find but so far no luck getting rid of it.
I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 - on my Asus sonicmaster laptop and now the flashing blue circle constantly shows up in and on and off state. Like it is trying to load or check something. How to get rid of this?
With Windows 8.1 either mouse button could be used at the login screen to select a user account for login. In Windows 10 it seems that only the left mouse button can be used at the login screen. With kids, some of whom are left-handed and use the mouse left-handed, this is confusing, as they click on their user name but nothing happens. Once they login the mouse buttons work as they expect, but for the left-handed ones, the mouse doesn't work as they expect at the login screen. The previous Windows 8.1 behaviour was preferable.
