Multiple Random BSODs On Every Boot

Aug 17, 2015

I've got this rig that I assembled a month ago that keeps random BSODing on me on boot every time I turn it on after a long time off (I turn the power strip off every night and on again on the other day and most of the times, that's when it happens). It won't even get to the log on page before it happens, and after the error it may happen again or boot normally, as if nothing happened and after that there will be no errors at all. I first installed Win 8.1 and got the errors, and hoped that updating to Win 10 would make them go away, but unfortunately it haven't. Since I'm not receiving the same error again and again, if it's software of hardware - most of it is brand new (CPU, MB, memory sticks, case).

The errors I'm randomly receiving (yes, there are lots of them):

Kernel Mode Driver
System Service Exception
Page Fault in Non Paged Area NTFS-sys
Kmode Exception Not Handled
Drive IRQL Not Less or Equal (again today, when I booted up)
System Thread Exception Not Handled
Bad Pool Header
DPC Watchdog Violation

I really don't know what to do - what software is it, what hardware piece to change, or whatever. Yesterday I updated my drivers once again and can't say which of them could have been resolved.

My rig:
MB: ASRock 970 Pro 3 R2.0
CPU: AMD FX6300 Black Edition
RAM: 1x Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600 Mhz PC12800 - CMV8GX3M1A1600C1
GPU: EVGA NVidia Geforce GTX 550 Ti
PSU: Akasa ES Plus 450W AK-P450GBK
3 HDD, one of them empty
1 DVD Disc Reader
1 PCI USB 3.0 hub

BSOD :: Multiple Random System Lockups Requiring Hard Reset

Sep 5, 2015

I recently built the PC I am currently experiencing this issue on. I have built several gaming PC's in the past, but never have I experienced any consistent issues such as this.

The PC Speccs are as follows:

CPU- AMD FX-9590 Vishera 8-Core 4.7GHz Cooled with a: CORSAIR Hydro Series H75 Liquid CPU Cooler 120mm
MOBO- ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+
GPU- 2x EVGA GeForce GTX 970s in SLi (4GB GDDR5)
Power Supply- COOLMAX CUG-950B 950W ATX12V v2.3 EPS12V v2.91 SLi Certified
RAM- 16GB HyperX DDR3 SDRAM
HD(s)-1x Western Digital 1TB 32MB Cache, 1x Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache
OS- Windows 10

I built the PC in mid February of this year, 2015. This particular issue started happening consistently (daily basis) in June. While gaming, my PC will all of a sudden, at random, lock up completely. I try Alt+f4, Ctrl+Alt+Del, and Alt+Tab, but nothing responds. The PC just stays like this until I'm forced to do a hard-reset at the tower.

I've tried just about everything I can think of to resolve this problem. I thought since it only happens when I game that perhaps it's a cooling issue and my system is overheating. However, I've ran a slew of programs to monitor heat and none show anything abnormal.

Many articles suggested malware or spyware might be causing the lock-ups. So I've chosen to clean my system daily but the issue still persists.

At one point I was able to eliminate the problem completely for nearly 3 weeks by changing my power settings from 'Power-Saver' to 'High-Performance'. Unfortunately, the issue came back. Asus Suite II regularly reports power fluctuations which leads me to believe it might possibly be a failing Power-Supply but I'm just not sure.

Windows Event Viewer lists a myriad of different application and system errors each time it happens. Recently however, it is always showing errors from Microsoft.Windows.Store, DistributedCOM, and Service Control Manager, all coinciding with the exact time the system locks up and becomes unresponsive.

It's worth noting that this system started out running Windows 7 Home Premium and just recently upgraded to Windows 10. The problem existed regardless of OS.

Multiple Login On Boot / Start Up?

Aug 7, 2015

I have a home server, and I have multiple users to able to have multiple private folders. So, let's say I have my own user and my partners user and a server user.

I have some applications that I want to run on startup, and so does the server user. My partner has access to a folder, and the server has access to some folders and so do I. But I need to run some software that can only interact with my folders. This software also doesn't run as a service, and I've tried a bunch of workarounds but they don't work with this piece of software due to other issues.

So, what I'd like to do is, upon boot, have multiple users load their designated apps upon startup. Is that possible? Can I have Windows 10 log in to multiple users upon startup to have their respective applications load and run?

Series Of Different BSODs

Aug 21, 2015

I have been running windows 10 for a week or so with no trouble until yesterday. I use DriverToolkit to keep all my drivers up-to-date and installed properly. I ran a scan yesterday morning and it fixed 13 drivers with no error at the time. Shortly thereafter I received 4 BSODs each about two hours apart (and another one this morning) and when I click shut down I get to the shutting down screen and the circle of dots just spins forever -- never shuts down -- until I pull the plug.

The BSODs were the following (in this order):
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION (this was this morning)

CPU: Intel 4790K (no OC)
MOBO: ASUS Z97-AR
RAM: 8gb DDR3 (2x4gb) - I think it's Patroit
Graphics: EVGA 8400GS
HDD: 2x 1TB in RAID0 (Intel RST)

Frequent BSODs While Gaming

Sep 2, 2015

Since a little over a week or so I have been experiencing frequent BSOD when playing games (these include Witcher 3, WoW, CSGO....). The main ones that show up are:

-Memory managment
-PFN_List_Corrupt
-System_Service_exception

Sometimes it only crashes to my desktop but overall they are very frequent and quite annoying. It occurs both when I have several programs running at once but also when only a single program is up. The computer is new, have only had it for around 2 months.

My drivers are all up to date, I have run virus and malware scans which have not come up with anything. The errors to me seem to point to a RAM issue (although I quite honestly know nothing about these things) so I ran the windows memory diagnostic which did not come up with any errors.

My Rig is:
Windows 10 x64
AMD FX(tm)- 8350 eight core processor
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970
Crucial 8 GB Sport Ballistix 240 Pin DIMM DDR3 PC3-12800 Memory Module

Dump File : 090215-24546-01.dmp
Crash Time : 02-Sep-15 7:30:47 PM
Bug Check String : IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Bug Check Code : 0x0000000a
Parameter 1 : 00000000`00000048

Getting BSODs Every Few Seconds Or Minutes

Aug 19, 2015

Brought new CPU+motherboard. Decided to use windows 10. Getting BSODs all the time, every few seconds or minutes. Sometimes even while installation i getting CLOCK_WATCHDOG_FAILED. If i got lucky and windows successfully installed. It bsoding every few seconds with: CLOCK_WATCHDOG_FAILED, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, HAL_INITALIZATION_FAILED. Can't install any drivers. I tired to use win10,win8,win7-Clean install. Everywhere - same issues, same BSODs.

Hardware(Nothing overclocked):
CPU: AMD FX 9590 - CPU and Motherboard was tested in guarantee service via IDA64, SiSoft Sandra. No issues was found.
MB: ASRock Fatal1ty 970 Performance
GPU: GeForce GTX780 - Have 2 more similar cards. Tried with every of them. Same problem.
RAM: 8+8gb 1600mhz Dual-Channel mode. Tested via memtest 1day. No issues.
HDD: Have 6HDDs, all was tested. No bad sectors. SMART report also fine. Bsods happens on all of them.
PSU: Thermaltake 1200WTT, all voltages looks fine. Anyway i tried with hiPro 1000wtt - same issues.

BIOS have last version v1.20. Tried to reset CMOS. Running windows diagnostic tools gives nothing. When i trying to use windows cmd.exe and run SFC /SCANNOW it gives me BSOD in a few seconds. DISM gives me the same - bsod. Running SFC /scannow via windows DVD says everything fine.

I have a few more old amd FX cpu's. I can try to use them if can find the problem.

BSOD :: Long Boot Time Seemingly Random HD Disappearance

Dec 9, 2015

Since updating (free, via download) from Win 7 to Win 10 I have had a few problems. I have 3 internal HD: (1) System drive (SSD, 500GB), (2), Media Drive (Seagate 3TB), (3) Documents Drive (500 GB). I also have a USB backup drive that the computer can see.

Seemingly at random, but more usually the Media Drive, doesn't appear when I boot the computer. If I boot the computer and go to BIOS all of the drives appear. Currently the computer in "this PC" recognizes 1 and 3.

Additionally it takes around 5-10 minutes to boot, sometimes hangs and has to be hard reset.

I have had a few BSOD as well, at seemingly odd times. The computer will run with the drives it sees fairly well and eventually BSOD. I should note that sometimes the BSOD is not the one I'm used to from previous Windows installs - it's really just blue with no info.

I have physically reordered the SATA cables (changed the drives to different cables) and this works for a time but eventually the problem persists.

Finally, I thought about doing a clean system install, but was wondering how you do that if you upgraded via free download (i.e. I don't have a disk - there must be an easy solution for that I am sure).

PC Random Reboot

Aug 31, 2015

Upgraded to windows 10 from windows 8.1 on July 31st, for the first 20 days there were no problems, now my PC will randomly reboot. The event log only shows that the system unexpectedly shut down, no errors. I read that changing when the computer sleeps from never to a set time has solved the problem for some. I tried this and the random reboot didn't happen for a few days, then a update happened on the 28th of August and now the problem is back.

I've run memtest86+ and didn't show any problems (I stopped it at 15 passes). Also checked my HDD and SSD but they were fine.

Random Freezing While Using A PC

I have a new PC that I built and i'll include the parts at the end. I'm running Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview. Eval copy. Build 10565. This machine randomly freezes on me(No BSOD) and I haven't been able to figure out the cause. It does not matter what i'm doing whether it be, browsing the web, downloading driver packages, checking email.. etc. I feel that i'm experienced enough to figure these things out with 3 years of troubleshooting experience, A+ certified and i'm a SQL dev.

Right now I only have 1 23" Dell Monitor hooked up to DVI because I wasn't sure if it was the other 2 causing the graphics card to freeze up.

Multiple Software Not Working

Aug 15, 2015

I have a new Alienware PC that came with Windows 8.1. Everything was working great. I went on vacation and came back last Saturday the 8th. Turned it on and let it run. I believe several patches were installed (MS updates). Strangely, I noticed my Acronis Trueimage 2015 was stuck at "calculating" for the next job.

Now onto Windows 10. I noticed that the update was available and thought I could fix Acronis after the W10 upgrade. Upgrade complete... no issues, no errors, looked good.Since upgrading I noticed Windows Live mail would just hang on the intro screen. Uninstalled. Upon re-install of Windows Essentials it just hangs on the install screen

Acronis: Uninstalled, reinstalled. It is still hanging on the "calculating time".Windows update: I thought, "maybe there is a patch out there". When I run Windows update it shows (3) available. When I tell it to install/download it just hangs at 0% downloading.I have to think all of these issues tie back to something common. I am not software savy enough to know where to start. The only step I have taken so far is to make sure Java is on the latest version. After that-- still all the same symptoms.

Multiple User Login

Jan 11, 2016

I have multiple users on my laptop running Windows 10 Pro and when I boot it up the first screen shows me a list of those users in the lower left corner, in addition, when I am logged in I can select the start button and at the top click on my name and see a list of users allowing me to log out and log someone else in.

On my desktop running Windows s10 Pro (same versions) these are not showing either at startup or after logging in. Both devices have the same three users and both devices user settings seem to be the same.

How to get the desktop to list the users on the first screen and how to get them listed once someone is logged in? I want the laptop and the desktop to display the same information.

Multiple Key Presses At Once Not Registering

Feb 10, 2016

So, just out of the blue, out of nowhere, this problem started to occur. This only happens in minecraft too, I try and press space bar to jump, X to sprint, and w to move forward, and when I try to do this, only 1-2 of my key presses will register, for example sometimes I will start moving forward and be jumping, but my key press on X will not register and I wont sprint. I varies randomly, I sometimes will be moving forward and sprinting, but despite holding the spacebar, I wont be jumping. What would also happen is I would hit a key, say space, and it would not register the first key press, but if I pressed it again almost immediately, it would work.

I am using a Razer Blackwidow Chroma, and I already tried uninstalled razer synapse and reinstalling it. Did not work. I tried on another keyboard, and ran into the same issue, so this ruled out it being the keyboard's fault. I've uninstalled Minecraft completely, and reinstalled it, no luck, I uninstalled and reinstalled java, no luck. The weird thing is that this only happens in Minecraft. For example if I go into a text document, I can spam all the buttons I want, including space, and they all register. I'm thinking about reinstalling windows. I don't <<edited>> understand why out of the blue, my key presses are not registering/being insanely unresponsive.

I was also experiencing input lag at times, I would hit a button, and there would be about a half a second delay before it registered in game. Again, this only happens in minecraft. I just played CS:Go for about 45 minutes and did not experience any problems.

All USB Devices Get Disconnected At Random?

Mar 5, 2016

my Mouse, Keyboard and my audio interface get disabled a few times a day. at seemingly random intervals.
mouse and keyboard are mostly no problem because they reconnect instantly, with one exception today which forced me to restart as win10 refused to detect them again.

but most annoying is when it disconnects my audio interface because it never manages to reconnect without me manually pulling the usb plug out and in. some programs and game crashs when i do that, or just wouldnt play any sound without restarting the program in question.

i installed win10 a few weeks ago, its a clean install not an update. this problem hasnt occured ever before last week or something. so i suspect some auto-updates could have messed with it. i have not tinkered with usb drivers or anything like that,

Random Hibernation After Upgrading From W8.1

Feb 18, 2016

I get the random dirty hibernation of my laptop if I don't activate an input (mouse or keyboard) in the span of 1minute. I had Windows 8.1 prior to upgrading to Windows 10 and all my power settings were fine and I never had the dirty hibernate then upgrading to Windows 10 for some reason I get it.

One way I sort of prevent the Hibernate is to:

Completely shut down/restart my PCWhen it bootsRun CMD in "Administration Mode"Type powercfg /h offHit EnterThen hope for the bestThis is only when its plugged into a power source, when I take the laptop off power and only use battery and I walk away for 1minute it does the dirty hibernation, its like a retarded dog that you feed it once it stays, the moment you walk away from it it craps on you.

And before you answer "Have you checked your System Power & Sleep settings, yes I have and the Advanced Settings which are component specific.

I'm afraid over time if this continues to happen my PC will crap itself.

Random Shutdown / Restart

Sep 8, 2015

Okay so I've upgraded and use windows 10 for about 2 weeks now. All is fine until I've experienced this random shutdown where the computer turns off completely in a splitsecond then reboots itself. No BSODs, no warnings at all. Recently, it's been shutting itself down and reboots itself but won't even make it to the login screen before it shuts itself down again and this will continue in a loop. I had to turn off the plug and turn it back on. It will prompt a system restore which the computer will work fine for a while after the system restore. I assume this problem is because of windows 10 because I have not experienced this problem when I was using windows 8.1.

My Specs:

Intel Core i5-4590 3.3Ghz
Kingston HyperX 8GB 2x
ZOTAC Geforece GTX970
Samsung 840EVO SSD 256GB (Boot drive)
