View 2 RepliesAfter installing windows 10 i noticed the resolution was a bit low, so i tried to change it, but it was locked and 1024x768. I then opened my device manager to see that both of my GPU's was giving error code 43 and was disabled. I searched the net for solutions, found something that said i should do a complete uninstallation of my GPU driver, i did that, and it still didn't work. I removed my secondary GPU and tried again, and still nothing.. I am running out of options...
View 1 RepliesI just noticed that in device manager Microsoft Basic Driver Adapter is enabled not my NVIDIA Geforce 6200 TC. Is there anyway to get it back or do I have to wait for an update? Or should I revert back to Windows 7 and go to Windows 10 when its ready.
View 1 RepliesEver since Windows Update KB3093266, my laptops Nvidia GTX 970m card has been disabled and shows a code 43 error, which says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
Uninstalling the update doesn't work, and I've installed and removed the driver multiple times. The Windows update gets downloaded again whenever I restart my computer, if I removed it. I've tried the update hider, but that didn't work.
After I backup I get an error message: The system cannot find the file specified (0x80070002).
View 13 RepliesCan't install any apps.
Shows downloading, then installing and then fails at the end. Saying "Well, this is embarrassing (see details)."
Details show "We can't find the app. error code 0x80070002"
It literally happens with any app I try to download. None will install.
General decrease in PC performance. So yesterday I updated my NVIDIA drivers from GeForce Experience (driver version 355.60) and ever since that my PC's performance has dropped considerably. Things are generally slower, but it is most most noticeable in games.
before the driver update I would get solid 60+ FPS in Battlefield 4 at Ultra settings, but now the average is 30-40 FPS on medium settings. Same situation for all my other games. I have tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it, and installing an older driver to no avail.
PC SPECS:
Strix GTX 970
AMD FX-8350
8GB RAM
600 WATT PSU
Nothing has been overclocked.
I am attempting to hide the driver update for my NVIDIA Grapgics card as the one from Microsoft causes me problems.
I am using this program from this link: [URL]
It doesn't matter how many times I run it the Driver update will not hide and therefore I am unable to update my computer without installing this troublesome update.
3 times ive tried to upgrade my windows 7 pro to windows 10 pro and 3 times it has failed at 57% ( installing drivers and software middle portion). results in bluescreen then reboots says trying to recover install and blue screen again then it goes back to windows 7 and boots right up.If I try to clean install to windows 10 it says key not valid ( using my win 7 pro key)
Ive tried to install from the little icon on the bottom of my screen, from a usb 3.0 made with windows 10 usb maker tool, and a usb 2.0 from the same tool ALL FAIL!ive got an 8350 1tb ssd, 16gb ram 7970 gpu fully loaded system top end from 2012 and it wont go!
After a critical update on the 20th, my computer will no longer boot. I have tried using this method to reset, i have also tried using the repair tools to return to windows 7, which fails as well. System restore also fails. My computer didnt come with recovery disks. I called tech support and they transferred me to sales so i could buy a clean copy of windows 10. get back to windows 7. I was a fool to upgrade.
View 2 RepliesI have been trying to upgrade 7pro for a day or so with no luck. First of all I tried the 'get windows 10 app' this tells me a update (KB2952664) is not installed. It was showing as failed in my update long but has since installed ok. However the app still says its missing. So I tried the media creation tool. This starts up fine but about 40 min in this screen appears
I press ok and after about 10 seconds the installer just closes, and that's it we are back to normal. I have tried this 3 times and I get the same result.
So I've been trying to update to WIN 10 a lot of times since it came out. Unfortunately the update fails around 80-90% and a BSOD shows up. The BSOD says something like Kernel Inpage Error. I've tried to update from Windows Update, the media creator tool and from the "Get Windows 10" program.
View 2 Replies17 to be exact so far today. I have cleared the software dist. folder numerous times...ran wuauclt.exe/updatenow and everytime it fails.
View 2 RepliesI have been trying for a full week now, to no avail. Whenever I apply the update, it goes to the "Restarting" screen...and gets stuck there indefinitely. Even after a few hours, it's still on that screen. So ultimately I have to force shutdown my PC (after which I can use it as per normal). I also do not believe I have any malware on my PC (have scanned multiple times with Kaspersky just to be sure). I had updated to Windows 8 > 8.1 > 10 on this same PC before and never faced a single issue. I also never mess around much with default system settings.
View 4 RepliesI reserved my copy of windows 10. I have tried to update it plenty of time but every time i do it fails during the second boot, it stops at 93% and goes to a black screen for a while, than it says "restoring back to your previous version of windows" I dont know what to do. I tried mostly everything. I deleted all the files in the software distribution and went into command prompt and put in wuauclt.exe /updatenow that didnt work. I downloaded the windows tool directly from windows that didnt work.
View 7 RepliesI have recently been trying to update an old hp laptop running windows 7. The 10130 update is showing ready to download, it downloads and tried to install but repeatedly fails at around 70-80% each time. It gives an error code of 800703f1 each time.
I have tried disabling all security features and firewalls etc. The laptop will not let me restore or reset to factory settings. I am not able to download the bios file as i have no flash drive to put it onto.
Cannot upgrade to windows 10 from windows 7, Fails at 25% with error 0XC1900101 - 0X20004. How can I get around this error and what is causing error.
View 3 RepliesI guess the title says what my problem is. So, I finaly got to install KB3081444 without any issues, and now, this update is doing infinite restarts on Windows Update. I tried:
1. Installing from offline downloaded installer - the same error code.
2. Did DISM, both commands failed.
3. SFC says no issues.
Windows Update files will be shortly.
I attempted to update my desktop with Windows 10 x64 build 10240 to 10586 using the ISO. The update gets as far as the second section and stalls at 32% - I left it for hours with no change. Fortunately powering off the system resulted in 10240 being restored. After the system booted to the desktop the error 0x1900101-0x30018 was given as the reason for the update failure. I'm not sure how to proceed. I've been able to install all other updates since the release of 10240 and the system has no issues with hardware or drivers as far as I can tell. I also have a laptop running identical security software and it updated to 10586 without incident.
View 2 RepliesAt one time, I had Windows 2013 on my desktop computer. At some point I upgraded to Office 2016 and uninstalled Office 2013. However, every day for weeks now, Windows Update has tried (unsuccessfully) to install the following:
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB2956151) 64-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Lync 2013 (KB2956174) 64-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB2899522) 64-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB2881001) 64-Bit Edition
Security Update for Microsoft Lync 2013 (KB2881013) 64-Bit Edition
Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB2850036) 64-Bit Edition
I don't know if other updates are being blocked because these can't be installed. Plus, there appears no way to tell Windows Update NOT to try to install these again, as previous versions of Windows had.
I received notification that my Windows 10 reservation is now ready. After downloading and preparing to install through Windows Update, I receive a failure notice with error code 80070005.
I am currently on Windows 8.1 Pro x64. I have administrative privileges.
For several months, I've had an ongoing issue when I run 'sfc /scannow', corrupt files are found, some of which it cannot be repaired. From the CBS.log file, I found these related to "utc.app.json". I was assured that when Microsoft sent out update for DiagTracking (KB3022345), it causes a false positive for file corruption.
Also worth noting is that I currently have my boot SSD partitioned and configured to dual boot Windows 8.1 Pro and Linux. This all works fine, and I've been told this shouldn't be a problem for upgrading to Windows 10.
I would like to do an in-place upgrade to Windows 10, not a clean install, so that I keep all of my software and settings as they are.
I have tried and tried to upgrade from WIN 8.1 to 10 with no success.
The error that comes up is "0x80070004 - 0x4000D The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation."
I have removed all 3rd party antivirus, and a bunch of other fixes. A
Download of the installer fails 3 times with error 80240020 on Windows Update
System on Pc is Windows 7 Starter with update SP1 .Enough Ram 2G
I had upgraded from W8.1 and Windows 10 was activated. I was under the impression that I didn't need a product key and that my PC would be recognized after doing a clean install. Now I have W10 installed fresh, but get the error code: Error code: 0xC004C003
View 9 RepliesAlthough I have been notified that my upgrade is ready to install, every time I try this it fails with an error message code of '80070002'. I've followed MS instructions on how to fix but guess what - it still fails.
