Netgear USB Wireless Router - Windows Installer Error 1603 Notification
Sep 21, 2015
I have a new Netgear USB wireless router I want to install. When I attempt to run the Netgear Windows10-version installation software for the Driver, the installation crashes with the "Windows Install Error 1603" notification. I cannot figure out what this means, except something to do with the Installer being unable to load the driver. The router IS rrecognized in Device Manager, but with a yellow warning that "Windows could not load the driver".
EVERYTHING else on my desktop is working just great, not a problem anywhere.
Netgear Live Chat support is stumped; they told me to get another unit. Well, I have done that already! The strange thing is that BOTH these routers are INSTANTLY recognized by my laptop running Windows 10 just like my Desktop is. The problem AIN'T the router! Something in Win 10 on my Desktop isn't right, and I need to find out what to do to fix it.
I have been connecting my PC to my router via a Ethernet cable and have had no issues but I want to move the PC to another room and run it off a wireless adapter. I tried a TP-Link USB adapter but it didn't work so I switched it for a Netgear one. That doesn't work either which makes me think there is something not right with my PC. I have installed and uninstalled multiple times, tired different USB ports but the Wireless Adapter doesn't seem to get an IP address and there are no Wireless settings in the control panel. But there are no Wireless setting and no connectivity to the Adapter.
So I was just installing some drivers for my wireless router and I accidentally clicked the wrong one. Now, my PC would just blue screen every time I plugged my router into the USB port and I don't know how to delete the driver I installed as I can't have the device plugged in.I can either use my PC without internet, or not at all.
I keep getting an error when I try to download Icloud for windows that says : Error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support or package vendor--
I tried all the suggestions I could find but so far nothing seems to be wrong with the installer. I there anything I can try to fix this error ?
Having had google earth on windows 10 for some months,it stopped working . I tried to uninstall but that did not work,so I downloaded google again but still no result.Error 1603 keeps coming up.
In the last couple of weeks, when I reboot the system there is a popup message "Windows Installer, Preparing to Install". The only option is to "Cancel". If I wait about 3 seconds it disappears, but on the next reboot it returns.
When trying to install a few apps on my PC, every one of them told me that there was "Another installation in progress."
After trying to install Windows Installer again from an elevated command prompt from dllcache, installers still tell me that there is "Another installation in progress."
Whenever I try to install a 64 bit Windows 10 copy from a flash drive, I get stuck on the 4 blue squares, with no white dots spinning. Then after about 10 seconds the PC restarts. I have tried the official way with the media creation tool, I have tried just downloading the ISO and using a third party bootable USB maker, I have tried ISO's from pirate sites (yes, I know, not the best solution) but none of those worked. Every time I tried a different method I always fully formatted the USB drive. Oddly enough the 32 bit version worked once or twice but even that doesn't work anymore. My PC specs are quite good so I really don't know what's the issue. Btw im running a 120 GB AData SSD and a 1 TB Seagate hard drive.
I have been trying to create a USB that has Windows 7 to Windows 10 for convenience if I ever need to install any of them again. From what I have googled myself there is ways of doing it up from XP to Windows 8.1. How to go about this??
This started a few days ago and is reconfiguring most installed programs every startup. Is this necessary since it consumes resources and delays full usage. If not necessary, how to I put a stop to this? I have a newer Dell desktop running Windows 10.
I am having some problems when trying to install Windows live ID sign in assistant. When I download the Games for windows live it says that the sign in assistant gets downloaded and installed but when I open Games for windows it gives me an error and says that I have to install the sign in assistant.
I then downloaded it from the Microsoft site but the installer starts and then just quits as soon as it opens.
Once I changed to Windows 10 I lost my wireless connection. My computer won't let me turn it on and it gives me the error: 651 response. Nothing seems to work.
Since the latest Win 10 update (12/12/15) the notification area shows bluetooth as highlighted. How do I turn that off? My laptop does not have bluetooth facility! There is nothing in the settings area to accomplish this.
I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 but unfortunately my Netgear adapter is not compatible with Windows 10. It has Windows 10 support available via online driver updates but I am not sure on how to install them since I do not have internet on my computer and the easiest route, albeit the more expensive option, would be to simply buy a network adapter that supports Windows 10 and can be installed from the driver disk that comes with it. I was curious as to what Windows 10 network adapter is best and for a reasonable price.
after upgrading from Win7 Ultimate with Office 2007 to Won10 pro, every time I star Excel or Word or PowerPoint the Windows Installer screen appears and then asks for Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Development Edition.ENU disk.
Ever since I loaded Windows 10 my internet is running slow and I continuously receive either a "recover webpage" message or "stop script" message. I am on IE 11. I tried the new Microsoft Edge but it seemed to run slower than IE. Does any kind of update need to be done to my wireless router. It is a Netgear N750 model #WNDR4300.
Windows states that my Lexmark wireless printer is offline yet I can print from other computers in the house not running Windows 10 ... Model X4650 ....
my "Get Windows X" notification has disappeared, yet I haven't received an email with my free Windows 10 copy, even though I applied for it and my hardware meets the requirements(running Windows 7 Professional at the moment). Is this an issue or is MS simply issuing the free copies at their own pace and not to all users at once? The taskbar options panel says that GWX(get windows 10) app is set to be visible at all time but is inactive.
I reserved my Windows 10 on Aug 16, 2015. Its been 2 days now but I didn't got my Windows 10 download notification yet.How long it took for you after reserving until you got a download notification?
[URL] .... I originally installed windows on 1440p resolution. I then upgraded that monitor to a 4k monitor and the notifications/tray menus for some programs seem to still open as if its a 1440p monitor. I have two side monitors that are 1440p and the notifications load properly on those but its very annoying that they load in the middle of my screen on my 4k monitor. I really don't want to reinstall windows or multiple programs.
