A few months back I set up my windows to turn off at 1am each morning incase i left it on all night. Problem is i now need to have the pc on during this time (plex server). How to remove the auto turn off?
View 1 RepliesI believe my gmail starts automatically when I turn on my pc.....I don't want it to.
How do I set it up not to start automatically.
Win 10 (or Edge) is automatically logging me in to my Outlook/Hotmail account when I boot the PC. I do NOT want to be auto-logged in… how can I change this behavior.
View 3 RepliesHow can I update my time automatically each morning before the stock market opens. My PC loses a couple minutes a day and I need to be synced with the market. I see it updates weekly, but by Tues I'm out of step.
View 3 RepliesMy system upgrade to windows 10 from 7. But my system encounter a auto login last active user problem.
View 2 RepliesI had win10 set for auto login, but after updates(I think) now requires for a login password? I reset auto login but reverts back.
View 1 RepliesI use "netplwiz" to set auto login feature. But i found that if i use local account, it works well, but if i use Microsoft account to log in windows 10, it will still ask me for passwords when waking up from sleeping mode or power on.
View 8 RepliesHow do I turn off the mouse auto click when it hovers over a link in a web page. I downloaded the windows 10 and it has started doing this. I can't find a thing anywhere about this issue. I have an Asus laptop and a Toshiba laptop and they are both doing this since getting the windows 10. I spend more time going back to my original page than I get to read the original page! Try shopping and reading a description. Taking a test online was challenging to say the least.
View 9 RepliesAlright so for some reason ever since I've "upgraded" to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 I've been having numerous issues with my computer taking a very long time to boot and I've noticed it is logging me in sometimes without asking me for my password at boot. I really want to stop the black screens as waiting 5-10 minutes every time I turn my computer on is annoying. Also I don't see why it would log me in without prompting for my password as why else would I have a logon password?
View 4 RepliesThis is a thing that was also on 8.1 (that I hated a lot) and i couldnt remove. I have 2 accounts on my pc (home and my own account) and everytime i turn the pc on, the last account that was used logs in automatically (mine asks password actually, but the home's one doesn't, so it just logs in).
This is a thing i hate, since makes me waste time login out and login with the account i want to use. Is out there any option for disable that? In 8.1 that wasn't possible.
I have a PC out in my building and it runs off wifi, sometimes my modem shuts down and reboots but it will take like 5-10 minutes unless I go all the way back to the house and power cycle it. The problem is my windows 10 is set to auto connect to it but never does unless I click the wifi drop down list then it will reconnect, any application that tries to reconnect to a specific wifi more aggressively than windows 10 it gets annoying because if I need to use the pc I cant just look across the room to see if my modem is back.
View 4 RepliesHow to configure my Win10 to automatically connect to multiple wifi networks?
I have wifi at home so when I get to the office I have to configure the "manage wifi settings" on my laptop, click "forget" my home wifi, and manually enter the office wifi password. I repeat the same process when I get home from the office or use the wifi in my brother's house. I had this on my Windows 7 but can't figure out how to in Win10.
Im pretty tech savy, but this one is boggling my mind.
Wifi dongle I'm using is this a DLink DWA-140
Router is using WPA2-PSK
Background info: I connect to the internet through my ISP's supplied router, i've set it up with my own SSID and my own password, it works perfectly fine with my android phone, my GF's iPhone, my tablet, my laptop, her laptop, her iPad.. but not with my PC running windows 10.The problem: When i boot, it doesn't always automatically reconnect to my wifi, despite having it checked as "connect automatically". My wifi dongle can see every other wifi network within 20 miles, EXCEPT my own wifi. Go figure?!
In order to get it to connect i have to hit "Connect to Hidden network", type in SSID, type in the password, which windows will prompt me is incorrect, hit cancel, wait a second, and BAM it connects to my wifi.
Things I've tried:
Open search, type "services.msc" open services.Scroll down to "wlan auto config" right click, stop the service.Navigate to "C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWlansvc delete everything in this folder leaving only a folder called "profiles" delete everything in the "profiles" folder except for a folder called "interfaces" delete everything in the "interfaces" folder)Restart "wlan auto config" connect to your wireless network, enter your passkey, (ensure the connect automaticly box is checked)Restart your computer job done, your computer will now connect to your wireless network automaticly on boot.>failed.
Hiding my SSID, and un-hiding it in router config, that worked for a couple of weeks, but now the problem is back. Have tried this solution again..failed.
Uninstalled the wifi dongle in device manager..failed.
Running the router as configured by my ISP.failed.
I keep trying to turn streaming on and it keeps turning off. My receiver is flagged "device access is blocked". I check the box marked "allowed" and the device changes to "allowed access using default settings". Then I click "OK". When I go back into the streaming options the "allowed" box is blanked and my receiver is back to the "device access is blocked" setting. When I did this on Windows 7, piece of cake, it worked. On Windows 10 nothing but a giant hassle. What's worse, I just did this this morning and it worked!!! I played a whole bunch of music on my receiver. Later today I re-booted and now the streaming is gone and I cannot turn it on!!!
View 2 RepliesAfter upgrading from Win 8.1 to Win 10 media streaming is off and when the "Turn on media streaming" button is selected there is no effect, no error message, no action. Since this feature was on before the upgrade I'm assuming some dependent services where either turned off or not installed. I've verified WMP is fully functional with shared services on. I've successfully joined a Homegroup, allowing me to play media from other computers, so I'm not looking at my firewall for now. My other ACER laptop which was also upgraded to Win 10 from 8.1 has no problem with this service. Any troubleshooting guide/white paper that shows all the dependencies.
View 1 RepliesI have a desktop computer with built in WiFi and Bluetooth. I have installed the latest drivers from the MFG website (ASUS ROG Maximus VII Formula). The problem is that Airplane mode will not disable. When you click on it, it shows that you clicked on it, but immediately resets to "On" no matter what.
You will also notice that WiFi and Bluetooth are missing from the control panel.
I have made sure both devices are enabled at the BIOS level, however, due to Airplane mode being forced on, they do not even show up in the device manager (even under "show hidden").
I do not thing this is a BIOS/Driver issue; this appears to be a bug.
I'm using a Dell E7240, did a fresh install of Windows 10. I can pick up all sorts of WIFI connections and connect to them successfully.
However when I wanted to use my internal 3G modem it tells me that the "radio is off" and I can't enable this in settings? Its greyed out, f I enable flight mode is greys out the WIFI and Bluetooth switches. When I disable flight mode it allows me to turn WIFI and Bluetooth off/on but "radio" remains greyed out.
Checked BIOS settings, checked driver for the Mobile Broadband Card, disabled and enable the adapter.
Still does not want to allow me to enable the radio. I can manage the SIM PIN so I can change it or turn on or off.
It even shows me the network provider if I disable the SIM PIN, but the radio remains off!
I am unable to turn on the blue tooth in the Settings in Windows 10. It is refusing to turn on.

I'm trying to share printer and folders but everytime people trying to connect it, they need to enter user and password to access it. I know the way to fix it is by turning off the password sharing in the network sharing but the option to turn off / on password sharing in network sharing simply doesn't exist. How to turn it off?
since I have updated my dell laptop an inspiron 15 3000series to windows ten I cannot turn off airplane mode and thus cannot turn my wifi on. I have tried everything I found on the net from device manager to command prompt downloading new drivers and yet also to simple stuff like pressing the PrtScr key. I am desperate, I am an international student n the only way I can call my parents for free is via the net(i.e wifi) but it is not working.
View 2 RepliesAfter updating from windows 7 to 10 I faced a problem, my laptop's wifi does not auto connect when i turn it on, instead i have to reset my wifi adapter to connect to my wifi, this was not an issue on windows 7. My drivers are all up to date i even tried to reinstall them but still no result. It feels annoying to reset my adapter all the time when i turn on my laptop
View 2 RepliesHow to create a Dial-up, broadband connection shortcut placed on the desktop. B4 the shortcut I had to:
-1- click on the R-side of the task bar icon
-2- Click on the broadband strip on top
-3- Click on the connection
-4- click on Connect
Creating a shortcut from there (Settings -> Network & Internet -> DIal-up) onto the desktop actually creates an extra step since it defaults to VPN instead--and even if it didn't it would still be 4 steps. Is this any way to make this a 1 or 2-step process?
I cannot find the Control Panel option to turn on Media Streaming. I have gone into the advanced settings but the option is just not there....This is all the screen shows....no Streaming option.I have the latest Win10 ver 1511, build 10586.14 which came out a couple of weeks ago.
View 6 RepliesAt my college we login to our accounts at the school using our email address and passwords. The domain suffix on the email points to which server we are logging into. So typing "*@domainhere.com" will login to the server paired with "domainhere.com". Windows 10 prompts you at login to provide this email and password. When you login, there are 2 drives mounted, one local and one which is on the server so you can login on any computer and have your files accessible, somewhat like a VPN or FTP storage server.
I run a small team of look developers and have a series of render an storage servers. I am interested in setting something like this up but my knowledge of systems management is limited to what I need as a look developer. This is a system often implemented into pipeline systems and version control systems in look development.
Each time I try to log in to a particular networked computer ( #3) from Computer #4 , a windows security essentials pop up and asks for credentials even though I checked on allowing access without passwords in computer #3 . In any case when I typed in the user name and password for computer ( #3) , I keep getting error indicating wrong user or password. However the reverse from computer #3 to #4 is OK . All my networked computers do not require password and I am not using workgroup or homegroup just simply network shares.
