I've been having the above issue at different times and it is getting a bit irritating to restart the modem(router).How can I permanently fix it so that my internet can be online 24/7 without me having resetting the box?And how come it says that I have no IPv4 connection but IPv6 does have a connection?
View 9 RepliesMy internet was working fine for quite a while after upgrading to win10, but one day both the wifi and ethernet stopped working. They both show a limited connection, or sometimes even fail to identify the network. The error message in the troubleshooter for both ethernet and wifi is 'doesn't have a valid ip configuration'. I have tried rebooting and resetting the router, re-installing network drivers, and restarting everything involved.
The wifi card is called "TP-LINK Wireless PCI Express Adapter" and the ethernet adapter is "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller" and is connected by a Cat5e ethernet cable.
So... I just updated from win 7 to win 10, as I got it for free. All went smoothly, but there was no ethernet connection. I'm running a custom built pc, connected to my router via ethernet cable.
At first windows detected the cable, but said: ''Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration." I was on about around the settings, and deleted the ethernet network from windows' settings. I thought it would come back by just re-plugging the cable. This didn't happen. What happened was, that the whole 'Ethernet' tab disappeared from the 'Network & internet' menu!
I also don't have 'Wi-fi' or 'Airplane mode' tabs in the menu... Well I have a pc that doesn't have support for wifi so that might be why...
how to get win 10 to detect the ethernet cable, and maybe that way bring back the 'ethernet' tab?
Oh, and I tested the ethernet cable on my laptop (running win 7), and it worked fine.
Where to start so to begin with my issues started when we got a new router. We had issues with the old one so we installed a new router and got it working fine WiFi worked alright but Ethernet would not connect it my computer when I ran the troubleshooter said one or more network Protocols were missing from my computer I'm running windows 10 version 1511. I went on google on my laptop to start finding a fix and I must have tried every option in the book just about I am losing my mind over how to fix this. Finally I tried reinstalling the Network drive Uninstalling my current one going on google finding my most updated one ect. and now the issue is no longer about the protocols but its saying my Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration

This morning approx. 4 hours ago I awoke to notice the computer updated and restarted during my sleep. Now the network icon has an exclamation mark and displays "Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration."
WiFi functions fine. Other devices connect to WiFi fine. PS3 is wired to a different port on the router and functions fine, so attempted to change ports the laptop connects to, with no success. Bypassed the router completely and went just Ethernet straight, still will not connect via wired connection.
I have powered off the laptop, router/modem with no success in rectifying the issue.

Very frustrated!! I had internet connectivity prior to windows 10 upgrade. The above message is what I am receiving. Network Center states: Unidentified network. I have done the following: Taken modem/surfboard, router and pc down gracefully then brought back onlineUsed windows troubleshooterread thru (and walked thru) dozens of forums with solutions to other "similar" issues**I have tried to connect directly from pc to modem. I get the same results. I have zero connectivity from my pc so I plan on using a thumbdrive if I need to reload drivers. I'm about to revert back to 8.1 and call it quits..
View 1 RepliesI updated to Windows 10 yesterday and after a few quirks I got it to running as normal, or so I thought. I use an Ethernet cable to connect to the Internet but all I get when I diagnose is "Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration". It used to work fine before updating by the way. This is what I've tried
Restarted the computer
Turned off the computer, waited a few hours, then turned it on again
Unchecked IPv6
Re-installed the LAN driver
Tried a different ethernet cable
Tried to follow the tutorial on this website for Windows 8 for this issue but when I type ipconfig /release, it tells me that "an error occurred: an address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint"
Another thing I've noticed, when I enable the Ethernet connection, my computer skyrockets to exceedingly high temperatures (over 99C according to the monitor I have). When I disable it or disconnect it it goes back down to normal. Not sure why this is happening.
EDIT: Looks like the temperature only rises when I check IPv6
After I installed Windows 10 on my computer I cannot connect to internet through the ethernet port. I've tried everything. I get the message that "Ethernet Doesn't Have A Valid IP-configuration". I tried to reinstall the network driver, ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew as admin but it cannot find the "Default Gateway" and when I type ipconfig /renew it cannot connect to the DHCP server.

From command prompt I run "ipconfig/all" and here is the console's output:
When I run "ipconfig/renew" it fell through : I should add, I have no problems on Windows Vista however.
We use a lot of VPN PPTP Connections. On most we turn off "Use default gateway on remote network". See the image below that shows where this setting is turned off.
We cannot open the properties for Internet Protocol Version 4 on VPN connections under Windows 10. This is located at Network Connections and Properties of a VPN Connection. Networking Tab, then select Internet Protocol Version 4 and click Properties. But under Win 10 the properties dialog does not open.
This has been tested on several Windows 10 systems and we have enabled Administrator and tested under that login as well.
I can not use my connection of telephonic access to internet with Windows 10, the options of configuration in protocol do not deploy TCP/IPv4 where I must put themselves them my supplier's DNS of internet, this is the one and only negative situation that I have found with Windows 10...
View 4 RepliesI'm facing an weird problem in Windows 10. I've upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. If I restart my PC then it shows my network connectivity is limited for both wired and wireless. After troubleshooting it says 'Ethernet does not have a valid IP configuration'.But if I shut down my PC and then start it again then there is not any issue in network.I was using a legit copy of Windows 8.1.
View 1 RepliesYesterday I updated my Windows 7 desktop PC to win10, and my internet worked perfectly, both wired and wireless. But today, it just stopped and until now it is still like that, famous yellow triangle. Wifi works. Tried almost everything, changing from DHCP to static, disabling firewall, updating/reinstalling network drivers. I am not using any VPN as far as I know. My network adapter is nvidia nforce.
After switching to static address, I noticed that my adapter changed from unidentified to network, but still in the status window of my adapter i see that ipv4 and ipv6 have no internet access. As I said, other devices work perfectly via wifi.
I have Windows 10 laptop hooked up to an ethernet connection which has been working well for the past 6 months. On 2/18/16 it stopped working. I traced the problem to the Qualcomm Atheros network Controller/ Killer E2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller: Internet status > IPv4 Connectivity: No network connection IPv6 Connectivity: No network connection Clicked: diagnose --> System checked & reset, with IPv4 Connectivity and internet access restored.
This resolved the problem until 3/4, following a Windows 10 update. The above solution no longer works. Clicking 'Disable this net work device' and then enabling it again restores IPv4 Connectivity and internet access for a limited time but loading a new site or page is slower than it was prior to the emergence of this problem on 2/18, and then the connection is again lost after maybe 10 to 20 minutes.
Since I downloaded windows 10 I keep getting no internet connection before I log on. I called my internet provider and she had me checking a lot of things before she had me to type Device Manager in my search bar and look under networking to see if anything was off. Both my Ralink RT 3290 802.11 bgn Wifi Adapter and my Realtek PCle GBE Famili Controller had a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle beside them. She had me to right click on them to disable them, then go back and right click again to enable them. My internet connection came back but it keeps losing connection about once a week. I didn't have this problem before the download. This is a HP Desktop and I am connected wireless.

There might be a problem with the driver for the Ethernet adapter
And
There might be a problem with the driver for the wi-fi adaptor
I am using Windows 10...
My PC would be connected to WiFi, but I wouldn't be able to go on any site. I restarted my PC and the damn thing locked up on the HP logo screen! So I had to hold the power button to turn of my laptop.

The PC is connected to the router via ethernet cable.All seems fine in terms of the OS, but I have no internet access. I know the router's OK as my other devices are fine.When I run the troubleshooter it flags up "There may be a problem with the driver for the Local Area Adapter".Digging further, it seems the issue is "Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter"
Looking at Services, I found the Wired AutoConfig and WLAN AutoConfig services weren't running were set to Manual. I changed these to Automatic and rebooted, but still no joy.The network adapter is an Intel 82652V-2 10/100 and Device Manager says it's working normally and the driver is up to date.

Connection to Internet through Wi-Fi is not happening after that though it is happening via LAN Cable.
Whenever I try to connect through Wi-Fi it gets stuck showing Limited Connectivity and No Internet Access.
I went through some threads and found that it can be solved by disabling "Block Internet Connection Sharing" setting in Bit Defender but I am not using Bit Defender.
I am using Windows Defender instead and am not able to find such setting in that.

So, my wireless router went out on me yesterday during a thunderstorm, which I replaced today. My desktop will not connect to the wireless network at all. I have it connected right now, through my cellphone's hot spot. Also, I can connect my phone to the wireless network as well as a different desktop and get internet access, which suggests something wrong with this desktop, I would imagine.

I've been running Windows 10 on my PC for a few months now. I upgraded from Windows 7 and absolutely love it! However, I am having an issue. When I use my PC on a normal basis, Everything is good. Internet connection is perfectly stable, no problems. But ALWAYS if I restart my pc, and SOMETIMES when I put it to sleep, when my computer turns back on, my internet connection can't be detected. I have to unplug it for about 5-10 seconds and do a full reboot in order for my internet connection to be detected by my pc. None of my other devices have this issue. I have an xbox one, Smart tv, my phone, laptops, etc. connected and none of them have the same issue.
View 9 RepliesAfter spending many anxious days trying to elude a hacker, I Reset my desktop PC yesterday to get a clean Windows 10 install. The legacy network connection I know is routed through the Hacker who is using Teredo tunneling software. I am trying to set up a new and secure VPN network connection to the Internet. But the PC keeps whirring without any visible connection progress. The Network Connection dialog box tells me that Windows 10 is trying to create a WAN Miniport (IKEv2). The legacy connection is on Ethernet with a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller, which I imported to the new Windows install.I am worried that I don't have the correct adapter settings and that a new connection can not be created while the legacy one still exists.
View 8 RepliesWhy do I constatnly lose my internet connection since upgrading to Windows 10? Did not have this problem with Windows 7 and Century Link. Once it is gone, cannot get it to reconnect. Keep getting a reset error message each time when running the diagnostics. If I can't resolve this soon, will be going back to Windows 7!!

In windows 7 this was not a problem,is there a work around so if two windows10 computers have no user passwords you can connect?. This is on a private home network. Trouble shouting result.."Ethernet does not have a valid IP configuration" . Contacted my provider Talktalk, was sent latest router, can connect with mobile wireless to router, can connect with laptop (Windows 7) hard wired, cannot connect with my desktop (hard wired) on which windows 10 is down loaded.
Have checked cable to desktop by using cable with laptop.
What do I need to do to get connected to the internet with my desktop?
