I upgraded to windows 10 from 8.1, ever since then, my Huawei 173 stopped working. The led light flashes, yet the network signal is not showing, the display hangs and several other issue.
View 1 Repliesi have a killer e2400 network adaptor over a wired connection on my msi motherboard. Unfortunately, out of the blue it has stopped working. I constantly get the error message "Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration." I have tried a number of things such as stopping and restarting the services in computer management. Nothing appears to work. I know my router works as I'm using it now on another computer.
View 2 RepliesI know this problem has been discussed with many variants but not quite the same as I'm experiencing, so I'm starting a new thread.
I did a clean install of Windows 10 pro 64 bit, and everything was running perfectly, that is until two days ago when the computers on the network simply disappeared. I had done nothing with changes or new software or anything of that sort.
I checked network discovery and it was on, but the only computer showing was the home computer. I have tried turning discovery off then rebooting and then back on again and rebooting. In all cases the network drives are accessible. I have manually entered the computer name in the address bar of File Explorer eg "//COMPUTER2" and then I can go and enter the other computers manually. Everything will stay there until I close down File Explorer and then they disappear again only shown the home computer.
I am using a Lenovo think Centre M57 pc, I installed the new Windows 10 operating system and like it very much, however my Huawei E352 Modem is not working on this operating system but it works perfectly in Windows 7. In Windows 10 it is being picked up as a Memory Stick but not a modem and therefore I can not connect either to the internet. I presume it must be a driver of some sort? If so, where can i download this driver that is needed?

View 1 RepliesI have two desktops and a NAS drive on my network. Both PC's are Win10. One Pro, the other Home. Everything was working beautifully then out of nowhere the Home machine just stopped accessing the public folder on the Pro machine saying it didn't have permission. I thought the Public folder didn't need permissions if it's shared with Everybody. But it will access and read the other non-public shares on the Pro machine. Weird The Pro machine, however, doesn't even see the Home machine on the network any more, although I can ping it. Again, weird. I had a mapped drive to the Home machine which is now broken. Both PC's can see and access the NAS drive. No settings were changed, nothing was touched, it just worked one minute and stopped the next. The Pro machine was just updated to Build 10586.3 on 11/13/15. But I don't think that caused it because everything worked until the 17th. All the network settings were correct and they have not been changed. I can't find anything about it on the internet except the typical "Make sure Network Discovery is on and file sharing is enabled." Yes, Network Discovery is on and file and printer sharing is enabled on both machines. Still no go.

Rebooting my WD MyCloud solves the problem until next time I reboot my Win10 c.
We have recently updated our four work computers to windows 10. Mine shows none of the network computers or printers under network. Under printers it shows one of our four printers but says driver unavailable and the spooler is not working.
I can get onto two of the other computers using a link under my quick access bar which was set up on our previous windows, so it can go to these computers, but they are not showing up on the network.
I have googled some of these questions and tried control panel/ administrative tools/ services/ to turn on UPnP Device host to automatic but it wont start and comes up with Error 1068: The dependancy service or group failed to start. Similar for SSDP discovery and Print spooler.
Under change advanced sharing options I pick 'turn on network discovery' but it wont stay on/keeps going back off.
I may be able to find a way to get onto the printers I need but would ideally like everything to show up properly under network.
I recently upgraded the 3 machines on my home network to windows 10 home.
Currently when I open up "this PC" and click on network, only one of the 3 computers shows up, and this machine is not the local machine on 2 of them. However If I type in the UNC address for the other machines I can access them.
If I set up a home group all the computers show up in the home group roll out under "this PC" but still not in the network.
Something else that is strange. If I look at "network and sharing center" two of the the computer see one private network name and the other one sees a different name.
Why suddenly out of the blue my network quit showing one of my computers? I have a tablet and laptop both with windows 10. my tablet still shows both computers, but my laptop no longer shows the tablet. I didn't change anything. What can cause this and how do I fix it?
View 4 RepliesI have DELL Inspiron 14R N4010. Automatic upgraded to Windows 10 Home. Previously I have Windows 7 Home Premium. After upgrade I didn't see the wired network adapter. However my wifi is working fine and can access Internet. I tried to re-install the LAN driver (Atheros AR8152 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller Driver); it ask for upgrade/repair/de-install means driver is already present in the system. In spite of that upgraded the dirver (got the upgraded driver setup from Dell). Unfortunately, the device is still not visible in device manager.
View 4 RepliesI have a Lenovo Thinkcentre preloaded with Windows 10 Pro. Sometimes when I go to File Explorer and click on Network it shows something called "Ralink Linux Client" connected to my home network. When I select its properties the only information I get is it's MAC address. But the funny thing is when I check my router's list of connected devices the Ralink Linux Client doesn't show up on my router's list even though it shows up on Network on my computer. I am using a Buffalo WHR-300HP router. I also have a Thinkpad notebook computer running Windows 7 Pro on my home network and this phantom device never shows up on Network on the Thinkpad. This Ralink Linux Client comes and goes on my Thinkcentre showing up sometimes but not all the time.
I tried researching this on the Web and apparently others have had this problem too both with Windows 7 and Windows 8. But I am reading conflicting information about what might be going on. One forum poster suggested that this means that the router connected to the network is picking up another router within range. Someone else suggested that this is actually something to do with the local router's internal components.
edit - My Thinkcentre is connected to my router via Ethernet. My Thinkpad is connected wirelessly.
I am unable to access the windows store but i can connect to the internet with nearly everything else...
Not a massive issue as I don't use the store much but it is quite annoying as it only happens sometimes.
I believe all my drivers are up to date... the MOBO is a asus b85m-itx..
I'm not sure if it's related to the last update or not, but suddenly my homegroup started saying my other PC was offline. So I went and left it and recreated it, and sometimes it'll connect for maybe 5 minutes then disappear again. Also, it's saying almost everytime I try to join that Windows No Longer Detects a Homegroup on this network. Very strange since it's showing it. I can get to the other computer via the Network icon so it's not a disaster, but this is a frustrating issue.
View 1 Repliesafter installing a replacement GPU, RDP now only connects to the home server when i have "use all my monitors" enabled.If i have it unticked the session will try to open on my second monitor - which is connected to the onboard GPU, unlike the first, which is connected to the discrete one - as usual, but blurt out a connection error after starting to render the remote desktop.If i tick "use all my monitors" in RDP settings, a connection is made, but displayed on my main screen.
View 2 RepliesI've never seen this problem with the previous O.S., Windows 7, but Windows 10 is throwing me this error message approximately 70% of the time when I run the network troubleshooter...either from the Control Panel, or by right clicking on the task bar's connection icon.
Though Win10 is the first O.S. to give me this error, the Microsoft support forums indicate that it's been fairly annoying to Windows 7 users back to 2010. Also, Microsoft support employees just give vague general tips for trying to nail down the cause.
I'm only experiencing this in EDGE. Edge sometimes freezes on a webpage when I'm attempting to post a message to a forum, similar to what I'm doing now. I run the Network Troubleshooter and get the "Native Host Has Stopped..." error. I open a new Edge tab, come to this forum and try to do a search for the answer, but this forum's search function ignores my input. So, I opened IE-11, navigate to Win10 forum, and all works well.

View 1 RepliesI have been using this version of windows 10 from last 1 month. I installed all the drivers and everything was working just fine. From last few days my wifi driver isn't responding. I tried reinstalling the driver but the problem still exists.
I can connect through the Ethernet cable and the Bluetooth driver is also working. Only the wifi driver has stopped.
My laptop is Dell inspiron 5520
Yesterday I relocated our Wireless Modem to a cooler room. We live in the Philippines so these devices can get quite warm...After relocating and hooking up all the wires, cables etc. My wife's computer a Dell, would not connect to the Wireless modem. I checked and replaced all wires with new ones, and rechecked the connections, everything was okay...I use a MAC which is still working fine, and connected right away, so I know the Signal is getting out. I did the "ping" command and it is not going thru. Tried everything I know, cannot get her wireless to work. I have a Red X on her adapter, in the Network Connections dialog box, "Not Connected"...Her system uses a Broadcom 802.11n adapter, which I replaced just recently...When I registered I added all the Dell system info, CPU info etc..

Idk. if it have something to do with i cant make/join a homegroup.
I was told to remove a file in "C:WindowsServiceProfilesLocalServiceAppDataRoamingPeerNetworking" but the file was not there.
I just installed (yesterday) the latest W10 update that installed Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.3) and my home network consisting of five W10 PC's has been "destroyed." I do not use Homegroup. Instead, I have always set up all the drives/folders as shared on all the computers. That worked just fine until now! For some reason only one of the PC's is detected by the other PC's on the network. However, all the drives that I had previously Mapped are OK. Is there some new magic setting that I have to change to get network discovery working again ...or... is MSFT forcing me to use Homegroup?
A little more information to add to my confusion. I was wrong above - two of the PC's are shown in the Network on all the PC's. One of the five PC's, which I use as a home server, runs 24-7. For some reason it has all the other PC's showing under Network and can access all the stuff on all the PC's!! I know it used to take Windows a few minutes to find all the PC's on the Network but... all the other PC's have been running for many hours and nothing changes.
I recently set up a Homegroup on a Win10 laptop so I can see another PC on the network. That PC is running Win8.1, and I would like to use it for file backup. The devices are visible on both ends of the network and have connectivity, but when I choose to use the File Backup function from the laptop, nothing transfers and eventually I have to restart because of no response from the system. Also, my browser will stop working. I have added the PC as a network location and specified the location for backup, but is has locked up twice now. Could this be a routing issue? I previously ran the auto backup feature to a memory card, but need more space.
View 2 RepliesI have changed my router. Is a 'FritzBox fon WLAN 7170'. First i connected, it was all good, i tried to connect to browser and it was good. Then i tried to connect Steam. "Could not connect to the steam network, either check your connection and click 'Retry' or start Steam in offline mode."I looked up for the probem, tried to:
- start the shortcut with -tcp
- turn the firewall off
- remove Steam from processes
- uninstall Steam and install it again.
- delete all files from Steam (without steamapps folder)
I tried other games online, they don't work either..I saw that video - Fritz!Box Firewall Port forwarding - YouTube (is 3:22 minutes long, if you want to watch it)I saw on the internet i can connect to the router settings with WIFI connection and i can't connect (CMD - ipconfig - Default Gateway in the browser).

My windows 2003 server stopped working in normal mode, but working in "safe mode with networking" and giving reply from all peers, and reaching all remote locations. in Normal mode not even ping to peer and giving error "destination host unreachable". tried with new NIC. IP conflict coming when assigning used IP address, if giving a new IP address not even request going to peer showing the same error as "destination host un reachble".
View 1 RepliesI am trying to set up our server which we have on my sisters new laptop. when I go to 'map network drive' and click 'browse' the server called 'BGE-B-NAS' doesn't appear on the list. I have tried multiple times and nothing seems to be working. I also tried to type it in manually but it just said that 'windows cannot access BGE-B-NASCompanydata'. Is it to do with the fact that this is a laptop and it is using the wifi instead of being wired?

since some days my wifi has stopped working.If I click on Wifi icon it shows only ONE (max two) NETWORK:And I live in a building with 20+ networks, as you can see from WiFi Analyzer (I'm the red one on the right).If I deactive/reactive Wifi with fn+f12, it goes to Airplane mode and to Wifi mode again and it eventually shows all the networks/My Wifi is on the top. If it's saved, Windows connects to it and then it drops the connection; if it's not saved and I try to connect, it says "You're not able to connect to this network".The fun fact is that after some seconds every network disappear and only one is showed (probably the neighbour one..I dunno).
I've already tried to HARD-RESET the notebook keeping the power button for 10/15sec with the laptop turned off.I've already tried to follow these instructions [URL] ... updating drivers (Intel 18.12.0.3, 18.12.1.2, 18.30.0.9 [Windows 10 default], 18.32.0 [Lastest drivers]) with no success. Everytime I install a new drivers, I uninstalled the previous one + Wireless software + reboot.

I tried different settings too/I changed channel, I set 802.11g on my router, APSD off on the router.I set "Magic packet off, ad hoc QoS off, U-APSD off, fat channel off,incremental throughput off, HT mode off" on the card setting without success. Nothing chaned.The Hardware test doesn't detect any failure. If I go close to the router, it shows my network with full power connection and it connects to it. Then I go back to my bedroom (probably 3/4 meters far), it KEEPS the connection for 30/40min and It drops the connection and I can't reconnect to it anymore. It always worked perfectly in my room in these months (I bought it in March 2015), so the distance is not a problem, I'm 6/7m far from the router.In this case It shows my Network (Connected) and the neighbour network...and the other 20+ networks???
The only way I have is USB tethering with my Nexus 5.I tried the Wifi connection on Elementary Freya (Ubuntu linux based OS) and it shows 20+ networks available on the list. It has not connection problem with my Wifi, but sometimes it stops working, the webpages stop loading and I must reboot Wifi to reconnect to it (usually after 30/40min using it).What's the problem? Is my Wifi card broken?
