I don't really know how to say this but my wifi wont turn on, when I diagnose the driver it says I need to turn the wifi button thing on but this laptop doesn't have one so how do I enable wifi without the button
I upgraded my friends HP laptop to Windows 10. The issue now is I can't enable Wifi. The card is recognized correctly in Device manager and no issues is found with it. It looks like it is fine. However in the Network Settings WLAN is set to "Off" and when I try to turn it on it always jumps right back to off. eg. I can't enable it.
HP clearly state any laptop bought prior to specific date in 2013 will not get any driver updates from their side for windows 10. And updating through device manager only tells me it's the newest driver available.
The Wifi card i Broadcom 4313GN card. I searched for win 10 drivers but did not find anything. They only offer linux drivers on their homepage...
So any solution to the issue or link to a win 1' driver for this wifi card?
I have a brand new HP laptop with 8gig of ram, and noticed that with cortana location enabled my wifi speeds slow way down especially since the last windows update. Noticed this since the latest windows 10 update which was suppose to update cortana?
My son disconnected the wifi on his laptop. I know it is in Parameters - Reseau et internet (network - internet) - Wifi but the button to activate won't move. Don't know what to do.
I have an Insignia 8" tablet that I use to listen to an internet radio station. WiFi connection to my 2Wire 3801HGV router. I have it powered by the AC charger. I have the display to turn off after 5 minutes, never to go into sleep mode when powered by AC. After the 5 minutes the display is turned off, the music continues as expected and will continue for hours. But if I try to do anything I loose my WiFi.Right after the screen is shut off I can enable it again with a stroke. Then the music stops. I no longer have internet access.
Network settings says I still am connected but somewhere the connection is broken. I disconnect from my router and then try to reconnect and it will not. I get, Checking Network Requirements, Can't connect to this Network. The only way I have been able to get connected is to do a restart. I have not found any settings that have been useful. All it should be doing is shutting off the screen. Not go into any other sleep or power down state.
I have my Windows 10 for around 3 days now, the thing is, in the second day after my computer froze when i was playing counter strike, everything in the task bar but my shortcuts stopped working, they dont open anymore, but when i click it, the cursor blue loading circle shows up but nothing happens.
I disabled Defender, and installed Trend Micro. I now want to let the Trend expire and reinstall Defender, but can't figure out how to do it. I've tried Control Pane, but get message that says "Defender Disabled" but no "Enable" button.
I have my laptop at work and have had no trouble connecting the company WiFi (they have Guest WiFi and a WiFi where you need to enter your company provided Username and Password). I have been connecting using my Username and password. Today I had to change my company login password. Now when I try to connect my laptop I get a "can't connect" message because the password saved in my laptop is no longer valid. But I can't find a place in Win10 to enter my new password.
I remember the first time I logged onto the company WiFi a Windows popup came up asking for my Username and Password (which was saved so I didn't need to enter it again - until now). This time not getting the popup - it just says "can't connect".
Running Windows 10 on a Dell Latitutde I was trying to setup a Netgear Wifi Extender because the Fios Router does not reach all the way to the other side of the house. I did the setup (so I thought) the way the manual told me and my computer was trying to connect to the extender, but it just stayed in "Connecting..." For a long long time. Eventually I gave up and thought I'd hit the reset button on the extender and try again.
Now my wifi adapter finds NO networks. All my other devices see all the networks.
The only other time this has ever happened I had accidentally hit the network adapter switch on the side of the PC, so I'm 100% sure that's not the problem and that it is 'on' in the settings. I've tried restarting the pc several times as well as toggling the adapter on/off, airplane mode on/off, and the switch on the PC on/off.. And it still sees no networks..
I have just replaced my WiFi card from (BCM943228HMB) to BCM94352HMB. Before replacing my WiFi card i done the following:
Made computer boot in safe mode with networking.
After that i replaced the card, then booted into windows 10 (safe mode with networking) and checked device manager. Everything was OK (See attached picture). I then tried to turn on WiFi, but it does not turn on.
Win 7 allowed this, but I can't figure out how in Win 10. I want Win 10 to "trust" my Galaxy S5 and automatically receive and save files sent by the phone. I send multiple files, usually photos, and having to go through all the manual steps for each picture is not working for me. I have Googled this and searched forums to no avail.
Which Network Protocols should I enable or disable for my PC?
My PC usage and router set up: - file downloading while also browsing web or streaming video - I don't do any lan/network sharing - Torrent file sharing - QOS is disabled on my router - The PC is connected with Ethernet cable

We drag the Local area connection and place it in the riht upper corner of the displayWe connect via Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. We then right click on the icon when we want to connect to the Internet - we ENABLE.When we want to disconect - We rightclick on the Icon and DISABLE
It has worked in all our windows up to Win 7 included. But now in Win 10 that we have upgaded to (free) it does not work.If we want to disable we only see the alternative ENABLE.WE ALSO INTEND TO INSTALL WIN 19 ON OUR SECOND COMPUTER. I THINK I SKALL THIS TIME MAKE A CLEAN INSTALL.IS IT OK TO START WITH THAT AS SOON AS I GET THE WHITE FLAG AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DISPLAY.I HAVE PICKED UP AN ISO FILE AND LOADED IT DIRECT TO AN USB-MEMORY.
I have internet service from AT&T which worked great until I updated to windows 10. My pc now connects to the wifi just find, I can download updates, but I can not browse a web page. When I go into open a web page I get an error that the page can not be displayed. If I vpn to my work it works just fine then. I have reset the browser settings, created a new account on my pc and nothing has worked.
I have no wifi after upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7. Looking at Device Manager, I believe my Network Adapter is Intel(R) 82578DC Gigabit Network Connection. Looking online, I do not find a driver for Windows 10.
i have tried connecting to my school's apartment however it always goes to no connections are available and then airplane mode and shows connections are available. the Wi-Fi connects just fine in all other areas of the school byt not in my apartment. The apartment is located inside the school and there are a couple of access points. I can connect to my friends Wii-U just fine but not my laptop? And when I troubleshoot, it says "Problem with router or access point.
I've installed windows 10, but I've got a strange problem. My WiFi connection randomly gets limited for one second. It isn't so bad, when I'm browsing, but if I wanna download something... that's terrible :S 'cause when the wifi stops, the download stops too... What can I do? I think it's not my laptops problem, because before win10 - on windows 8.1 - it worked fine. If it matters something, it gets limited in about every 5 or 10 minutes.
I was wondering if it's possible to utilize both WiFi and ethernet in tandem. I'm pretty sure some of you are going to tell me that I can only access the internet through one of these, up to my bandwidth limit, but that's not what I mean.
I'd like to access the internet through my WiFi connection, yet have a wired connection through my router to access the files on the other computers in my house.
I have a brand new MSI QE62 apache pro, and I just installed an update to windows 10 (the computer came with win 10, so i cant revert back to 7 or 8) and after the update, I no longer have a visible wifi adapter in my network settings, and i obviously cant connect to wifi as a result.
My PC would be connected to WiFi, but I wouldn't be able to go on any site. I restarted my PC and the damn thing locked up on the HP logo screen! So I had to hold the power button to turn of my laptop.
Sometimes when I'm gaming online my connection gets lost and my wifi gives me no internet signal but there is internet on my other devices, I solve it by clicking on airplane mode twice (on and off again ) then the Internet comes back . Is there a permanent solution to this ?
I purchase my laptop last March and was running 8.1. I upgraded to 10 and am now having issues with wifi being connected and then losing wifi connection for only outlook and micorsoft edge. I can still access the internet through chrome or internet explorer. I have call Microsoft twice and they have not corrected the problem. I took the laptop back to Micro Center and they could not find any issues. The first session with Microsoft the technician removed some temp files and ran a malware program, which seemed to fix the problem, but the fix only lasted an hour or so. Wifi will come back by waiting for a while or by shutting down or by signing out and signing back.
This just started happening only a few days ago, I'm not sure what might have caused it, but my laptop will suddenly disconnect from my wifi network. sometimes it won't disconnect, but just stop receiving/sending packets. I can tell this because suddenly my pages are stuck loading and skype is trying to reconnect, but nothing happens until I manually disconnect.
I have tried Troubleshooting. But I usually get "Your proxy setting could not be recognized" or something, even though I don't have any proxy settings.Uninstalling and then reinstalling the latest driver for my wifi card. Disabling power saving for the wifi card as talked about here. Everything mentioned on the Microsoft page here
Ethernet works fine. I can connect my phone to wifi and tether it to my laptop, so this shouldn't be a problem with the router.
