Networking :: Yellow Triangle Over Network Even If Internet Works
Jan 15, 2016
I'm on Windows 10 x64 and my network device is a Intel GbE LAN chip (10/100/1000 Mbit).
My issue is : I have a yellow triangle over the network icon in the notification area and it says me "Network : No Internet" even if i can access to internet and my network works perfectly.
That's not very serious issue but that's disturbing to know if i'm connected or not (real disconnections can happen). After trying to reboot my rooter and uninstalling/reinstalling Intel's newest drivers i don't know what to do.

Last night I bit the bullet again & upgraded to windows 10 & then did a clean install. I have noticed that the network icon in the system tray shows a yellow triangle & says no access but I can surf fine with chrome & use qbitorrent etc.
The only way I can get rid of the yellow triangle is to disable the network adapter & then re enable it.
Not using any third party firewall as private fireall doesn't support windows 10.

Basically, last week I bought this laptop And I started off working fine until a few days ago when my internet went off. The wifi logo has a little yellow triangle warning sign next to it and it says Limited. I started off by resetting my wifi but that didn't work then I tried connecting to my iPhone hotspot and that didn't work either and was also saying Limited!! It's obviously not the wifi but the laptop that is the problem. How can I fix this?

I have several computers, one laptop recently has a new problem. The internet network connection in the corner has a tiny yellow triangle and says the connection is limited and says it is NOT connected to the internet - even though it IS connected to the internet. It does this for both the wireless icon and the ethernet icon, so it can't be a driver issue.
I have rolled back the drivers, gone to the HP support site to get their drivers, updated to the latest drivers, and nothing gets rid of those triangles.
It's also not a router issue, because I have another computer on the same router with no problem on either the wifi or ethernet. I've done sfc /scannow in both safe mode and normal mode. I've looked for any errors and there are none. It is very annoying.

Reader's Digest version: Both of us are on the same network through an Asus RT-AC56R router. Both are running Windows 10, fully patched, checked w/ Belarc. My network is visible to her system and public files accessible. Hers, and the usb printer on her PC are NOT visible at all to my side of the network. It's as though her system isn't on the network.
Every setting in network sharing matches. I've checked several times to be certain both PCs have the exact same Advanced Network Sharing settings.
I am also running Linux Mint 64-bit as a dual boot. Needless to say, networking using Linux is PERFECT.

Prior to W10 I had a network NOT using Homegroup. Network worked who needs it? Now, I see some of my devices on the network, but when I try to share files I get a window requesting user name and password. Never used passwords before. I think Homegroup is sneaking in there, but all the devices say they don't have a Homegroup but some of them say the see a Homegroup on other devices. I've disabled Homegroup on all devices tried changing advanced network settings to no avail.

But I'm currently browsing the internet and typing to you.
In fact - I can do virtually everything (League; Steam; Skype; etc) except use any OS feature that requires logging in -
e.g. Mail, User Accounts, Shop, etc. Then it says something along the lines of "Cannot use this service without an internet connection - please connect and try again." When I run Network Diagnostics as the prompt recommends - it says I am connected and cannot find a problem.
It doesn't always happen - but it seems to be determined on start-up. If I restart it now it might be working next launch - but 75% of the time it will encounter the same issue. It's been happening for months now but I've sort of gotten used to using my phone to check my emails - but I've now encountered an issue with one of my hard drives being unable to be searched (tried indexing, etc) and the only step I've found that I haven't tried says it could be a corrupted user account - but I cannot update my user account without "connecting to the internet". -_-
The system is up to date. No driver updates available.

If I go to the network and sharing center on one of the computers on our home network it reports that it is not connected to a network, but this system can see other computers on the network and access the internet. The other computers cannot see this system, however. This system has an older X38 motherboard with an E8400 processor, but the initial in-place upgrade from Windows 7 had no problems at all.
I didn't notice the problem until I realized that about two weeks of backups across the network had failed. I have tried the repair tools in Windows 10 and have uninstalled and reinstalled the network adapter without success. I was hoping that the problem would be fixed by installing the recent big windows update, but windows update reports that it cannot connect even though I have internet access.

I have two computers running Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview Build 9926. One computer is a desktop and it is working perfectly. The other is a new HP 15-F039WM laptop and it came with Windows 8.1 With Bing installed and it also works perfectly in Windows 8.1 mode. I resized the hard drive on the HP laptop to free up 150Gb of space and then installed Windows 10 TP Build 9926 from DVD. It still works perfectly when I use dual boot to go into Windows 8.1. When I use dual boot to go into Windows 10, the network icon in the system tray says "Unidentified network - No Internet access". I did swap cables, etc, but I knew that wouldn't work because the laptop does have Internet access when booting to Windows 8.1.
I read through some threads here after searching for DHCP and connectivity issues and even tried some of the suggestions such as using regedit to look at the network profile. There isn't a network profile. It is displaying a 169... IP Address, so I know that it isn't getting an IP. I tried to manually add the correct settings that work for Windows 8.1 (192.168.0.15 with 192.168.0.1 as the Gateway), but that fails.

I was having some network problems and in the course of fixing them I uninstalled the network driver for my TP-Link AC600 Archer T2UH USB network card. This card has been working without a problem for months on 2.4 and 5Ghz channels and at high speeds > 150Mbps. When I attempted to reinstall the drivers, I can get connected to the WiFi but I get the Windows 10 message "Secured, no internet I have tried numerous drivers and I have now tried to connect using two separate NIC cards. (I had an old 802.11n usb adapter) as well as a 5Ghz wireless bridge that I used to use that connects to the PC via ethernet. All of these have connected to the network, but I get the same "Secured, no internet" message.
The only thing I can think of at this point is that I've somehow screwed up the adapter. I've looked at that ipv4 settings are they are all set to "Obtain an ip address automatically" and do not have a DNS name specified. I have attempted all the windows repair options as well and they return telling me their may be something wrong with the driver or the adapter. I'm at wits end.

My aunt did the free Windows 10 update from Windows 7. After the update she had no internet connection so she decided to roll back to Windows 7. After the roll back, she still has no connection. Her connection icon says "unidentified network" and will not connect to the internet. It is plugged directly into the modem.

I have suddenly noticed a problem with internet connection. I cannot download any apps from Microsoft store (with unknown error message). Strange is that each other software (cloud clients, browser, ....) works perfectly.
I have already searched for solution on google and found command wsreset.exe but this did not work..
I have also tried network troubleshooter. It has found these errors:There is one or more missing network protocols. Windows sockets registry entries are missing
I have tried to repair these errors with some netsh commands, which actually did something but did not solve anything.
Another solution is to reinstall network drivers but this did not work either.

For some reason the Airplane mode setting can not be turned off in Network and Internet Settings, Network setting from taskbar, or Action center from taskbar. I am using my desktop and will never have it on an airplane. However, the computer does have a wifi adapter which I could use and it is able to be enabled.
Also, have other wifi devices on my home network, another PC and a tablet, a wireless printer and all are working fine. It must be a 'bug' on the desktop but someone should know that it is there. On the other PC, which is an all in one, the Airplane mode is not even in the settings anywhere.

I've been getting the following error : "The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation" Things I've already done trying to solve the problem:
1) Clean install of Windows 10.
2) Made sure my WiFi network card doesn't go to Sleep, by disabling that option in the Power Management.
3) Have set hosted network mode to allow
4) Made sure that my network with internet access is set to sharing
Additional info: It was working fine untill some random windows update, after which the PC started getting BSOD when trying to host a network. Reinstalling drivers started giving me this error instead of BSOD. Then I rolled back to windows 8.1 and checked again. It was working flawlessly. I assumed it to be a driver problem, so I upgraded to Windows 10 again and this error is back.

I have been using a wireless connection but have decided its better for online gaming if i go wired/ethernet.
I am having a problem "unidentified network/ No internet access"
Now in the past with an xp pc i connected the ethernet cable and that was it i assumt there is some sort of set up i need to do for win10?
Also it may be worth letting you know i am not directly connected to the router via an ethernet cable, i am using the plug in things that sends the signal down the house electrical wires. Maybe this is an issue although it wasnt on my xp pc.

My internet worked fine and I didn't do any changes to it up until it stopped working. I've managed to fix the internet access to allow me to access the internet on my laptop through wi-fi but network access still says no internet access. Websites work however ethernet does not work! I can't connect online on my playstation because ethernet doesn't work. I've tried disabling and enabling the ethernet. I checked the cables, I re-installed the drivers and i turned off and on the router more than I could count.
The internet works on my laptop however a connection test on my playstation 3 says obtain ip address succeeded and internet connection failed. So I can't play online. I am absolutely certain the playstation 3 is not fault as I checked vigurously the settings and I've put in the right connections, however it still does not work? Should I buy new cables for the router?

So for about 2-3 months I've been running hardwired Ethernet internet instead of wifi. I keep my Dell plugged into my tv. The other day I tried to move it and use wifi in another room but I have no option. When I first started with Windows 10 on release day I was using wifi with no problems and when going the Ethernet route it was always plug n play when you going to wifi vs wired.
1. Even after unplugging the Ethernet cord the symbol doesn't change to a wireless symbol the Ethernet symbol just has a little red box.
2. Tried turning airplane mode on and off as well as full pc reboot
3. Right clicking internet from the bottom right of the screen image and clicking open network and sharing doesn't give any wireless options
4. I've tried troubleshooting also with Ethernet unplugged and no success.
So just to repeat Ethernet works perfectly. Wifi used to work. My roommate who also is running the same version of Dell wifi works perfectly. Same account and everything.
The only thing I can think of is the pc updated one day as I have automatic updates and it wiped the driver maybe.

I have been trying to create a hotspot from my HP laptop, which runs Windows 10, for a while (my laptop is connected to the internet by an ethernet cord). However, I keep running into roadblocks. I followed the instructions found here:
Turn Your Windows 10 Computer Into a Wi-Fi Hotspot
I've also followed the instruction on the apps found from the Windows App Store that give you instructions on how to use your laptop to broadcast wifi.
I have been able to successfully create and "start" a network that could broadcast wifi, but the new network, under the category of "Access Type", always says "No Network Connection". There is no connectivity problem with the ethernet itself. My laptop surfs the web just fine. But for some reason, the new networks that I create in order to broadcast wifi will always display "No Network Connection". I've tried troubleshooting it for a while but to no avail.

My router is supplying IPv6 to all the LAN clients in my house. In particular, IPv6 is working on my Windows 10 desktop computer, but not this laptop. This laptop is a Windows 10 Pro OS, and I don't see IPv6 connectivity when I look at the connection in the Network and Sharing Center. When I look at the network adapter (wired) properties, it shows that IPv6 is enabled in the networking software.
The laptop used to have IPv6 connectivity with Windows 10 before I installed the giant threshold 2 update last night, now IPv6 not working on the laptop.
what I can do to diagnose the problem with the laptop? I've run the Windows troubleshooters, and they don't find any problems (of course). Even my Apple and Android mobile clients have IPv6 connectivity.

So yesterday my internet stopped working which is ethernet to d-link hardline ac adapter to router. Xbox is connected same way and it works perfect. Tried all the usual reset/restart stuff. Keep getting unidentified network no internet. My router reads my PC so i know its connected. Updated the ethernet controller drivers to win 10. No luck. My wireless adapter doesnt work either but i hooked it up and while it connects to my router and has a good signal it will work for a few mins and than drop out.
