I keep trying to turn streaming on and it keeps turning off. My receiver is flagged "device access is blocked". I check the box marked "allowed" and the device changes to "allowed access using default settings". Then I click "OK". When I go back into the streaming options the "allowed" box is blanked and my receiver is back to the "device access is blocked" setting. When I did this on Windows 7, piece of cake, it worked. On Windows 10 nothing but a giant hassle. What's worse, I just did this this morning and it worked!!! I played a whole bunch of music on my receiver. Later today I re-booted and now the streaming is gone and I cannot turn it on!!!
After upgrading from Win 8.1 to Win 10 media streaming is off and when the "Turn on media streaming" button is selected there is no effect, no error message, no action. Since this feature was on before the upgrade I'm assuming some dependent services where either turned off or not installed. I've verified WMP is fully functional with shared services on. I've successfully joined a Homegroup, allowing me to play media from other computers, so I'm not looking at my firewall for now. My other ACER laptop which was also upgraded to Win 10 from 8.1 has no problem with this service. Any troubleshooting guide/white paper that shows all the dependencies.
I cannot find the Control Panel option to turn on Media Streaming. I have gone into the advanced settings but the option is just not there....This is all the screen shows....no Streaming option.I have the latest Win10 ver 1511, build 10586.14 which came out a couple of weeks ago.
I am dated on things HTPC/Home-Entertainment and need a puzzle piece: What is the right way to pull content off the web [say PBS documentaries from their site] and make available to all the HDTV's connected by ethernet and COAX to household fabric? Presumably the same network & server setup would stream stored movies, home vid, etc to any of the HDTV's.
I have a desktop computer with built in WiFi and Bluetooth. I have installed the latest drivers from the MFG website (ASUS ROG Maximus VII Formula). The problem is that Airplane mode will not disable. When you click on it, it shows that you clicked on it, but immediately resets to "On" no matter what.
You will also notice that WiFi and Bluetooth are missing from the control panel.
I have made sure both devices are enabled at the BIOS level, however, due to Airplane mode being forced on, they do not even show up in the device manager (even under "show hidden").
I do not thing this is a BIOS/Driver issue; this appears to be a bug.
I'm using a Dell E7240, did a fresh install of Windows 10. I can pick up all sorts of WIFI connections and connect to them successfully.
However when I wanted to use my internal 3G modem it tells me that the "radio is off" and I can't enable this in settings? Its greyed out, f I enable flight mode is greys out the WIFI and Bluetooth switches. When I disable flight mode it allows me to turn WIFI and Bluetooth off/on but "radio" remains greyed out.
Checked BIOS settings, checked driver for the Mobile Broadband Card, disabled and enable the adapter. Still does not want to allow me to enable the radio. I can manage the SIM PIN so I can change it or turn on or off.
It even shows me the network provider if I disable the SIM PIN, but the radio remains off!
I'm using windows 10 prof 32 bit and joining a domain.
I'm trying to share printer and folders but everytime people trying to connect it, they need to enter user and password to access it. I know the way to fix it is by turning off the password sharing in the network sharing but the option to turn off / on password sharing in network sharing simply doesn't exist. How to turn it off?
since I have updated my dell laptop an inspiron 15 3000series to windows ten I cannot turn off airplane mode and thus cannot turn my wifi on. I have tried everything I found on the net from device manager to command prompt downloading new drivers and yet also to simple stuff like pressing the PrtScr key. I am desperate, I am an international student n the only way I can call my parents for free is via the net(i.e wifi) but it is not working.
After updating from windows 7 to 10 I faced a problem, my laptop's wifi does not auto connect when i turn it on, instead i have to reset my wifi adapter to connect to my wifi, this was not an issue on windows 7. My drivers are all up to date i even tried to reinstall them but still no result. It feels annoying to reset my adapter all the time when i turn on my laptop
How to create a Dial-up, broadband connection shortcut placed on the desktop. B4 the shortcut I had to:
-1- click on the R-side of the task bar icon -2- Click on the broadband strip on top -3- Click on the connection -4- click on Connect
Creating a shortcut from there (Settings -> Network & Internet -> DIal-up) onto the desktop actually creates an extra step since it defaults to VPN instead--and even if it didn't it would still be 4 steps. Is this any way to make this a 1 or 2-step process?
Does the new Maps app being built for the phone and PC features voice turn-by-turn navigation? I know the current Maps app does not. You need to use Here Drive or another third party app for voice navigation.
I am having problems with me Mouse and key board, on boot up they will turn on for about 20 seconds then turn off. Then a error comes up,inaccessible_ boot_drive. But if I restart my pc the mouse and keyboard will do the same thing but instead of the error I get, choose keyboard layout, and a list of options but I cant choose them because the mouse isn't working. This all started happening after I upgraded my power supple but I when I put my old power supple in I had the same problem. I have windows 10and I have tried using different keyboards and different usb ports.
I recently upgraded to windows 10, and I wanted to stream my xbox one to my windows 10 PC, I plugged in my controller, installed the drivers and everything, but when I go find the option to connect my xbox, it looks like this, there is no option on the side to connect it, URL...
I have been trying to record streaming video from a site using several addons for firefox when I try to caputre the stream or download the url it only captures downloads a few mins of the stream and then another url will show up from the site that is only a mb or 2mb and it will repeat this ad nausium for the lenth of the video so there are hundreds if not thousands of urls that are like only 30 seconds to a few mins of the film... I am wondering if there is anyway to record the stream in these cases?what I mean by getting hundreds of url's while streaming video
I'm getting an Xbox One for Christmas. If I have the Xbox hooked up to a TV, can I still connect it to my laptop, which is across the house? If so, can my brother play the Xbox on TV while I play it on my laptop? Two games at once?!
PS: This will all happen after Windows 10 comes out.

I recently have been trying to stream on twitch, and it works for like 30 minutes-1 hour then my computer crashes. really want to start streaming seriously and on a schedule but can't due to this unfortunate issue that frequently occurs. I have provided my system specs on my profile under the tab "System Spec" if you need to see my setup.
I will provide a screenshot of my recent crashes, and will provide them here, but I recommend looking at the screenshot as it provides a lot more information regarding the crashes. The Bug Check String that says the reason of the crashes are:
Where I can find the streaming function for the video or music app for the new windows 10 apps? With windows 8.1 there was the possibility in the charms bar....
I upgraded from w7 to w10 a few weeks ago. Since doing so it crashes what seems like 100% of the time when I stream video from certain sites.
Youtube is fine no problems. But bbc iplayer for instance, within 30 seconds the PC just freezes... no ctrl+alt+del option... the pc is just dead and stuck. I have to manually shut it down and restart it every time.
Other sites I'm trying to stream from have the same problem.
I'm hoping there is a quick fix, update, driver or solution I can find rather than doing a clean install because I'm planning to build a PC soon so don't want to have to go through the clean install and downloading/installing all my programs and losing program data with this PC and then the next one too. I'm going to give this PC to family so will be happy to do the clean install at that stage.
I have had an issue of my computer Blue screening multiple times over the past few weeks. The frequency has increased and I cannot replicate the issue on demand, it comes and goes by itself. The first time I noticed this was when my computer BSODed when I was streaming a video to my Chromecast. Once the computer restarted, it did not have any further issues. However, these past few days when I was browsing the net, my computer was BSOD on its own without really doing anything resource intensive. Is there any way this can be fixed? PC-Tue_11_03_2015_234624_33.zip
So I've been experiencing this for a while now on both Windows 7 and Windows 10, any time I stream or process a video my computer blue screens and I have to power it on and off, for all other applications its perfectly fine I have a 4790k proccessor 16gb of of RAM and a GTX 770 Gfx card, the fact it only happens when rendering/streaming/gaming makes me think it's a driver issue, however I use the Nvidia Geforce Experience and always install the latest updates but apparently something is very wrong with the PC, the specifications mean it should be able to do these things easily,
One last thing I'd add is about 8 months after I bought the PC I restored it to factory settings and pretty sure didn't do the greatest job of it, the BSODs have occurred ever since that happened again making me think its driver related, is there anyway to check my drivers and see what could be wrong/incompatible.
I would have posted a log but when i go to event viewer it says the crash dumps been deleted due to lack of space.
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xffffe000402c9028, 0x00000000bf800000, 0x0000000000000124). A dump was saved in: C:WINDOWSMEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 14c3a8a0-930a-4b8e-bd5c-6e245fe74fda.
via HDMI and my HD TV works just fine except things like Netflix in either IE, Edge or the Netflix app. Audio streams but the windows is black whilst everything else works fine. Windows 8 does not give me this problem. As soon as I move the window or Netflix app to the main screen the video is shown in the window or app.
In case I forgot to forgot fill in my system specs: Laptop MSI GT70. I thought I read somewhere that having an integrated GPU such as this laptop has part of the problem. My other laptop: ASUS doesn't have an integrated GPU and works with Netflix streaming on my HD TV.
I get a memory management error when i streaming from web or use skype screen share. i tried running sfc /scannow command, the results say that there are some corrupt files that the system could not fix. I have a cbs file but I don't understand it.
