Today I got an update, and I noticed afterwards that the Windows 10 context menu when you right click the desktop went back to the old version and not the Windows 10 version. Also, the context menu for right clicking in the taskbar turned black in the background. Not sure what changed and how to make things the way I remember.
I have a problem where all my Office 2013 documents (word and Excel) disappeared after migrating to Windows 10. Microsoft support just say that they have gone without a trace. Not much support there. Fortunately I have a 99% backup but I now do not trust Windows 10 not to lose more. I think there is a bug in the migration but cannot get the message to MicrosoftÂ
Have just upgraded to windows 10 and when I try to export a csv file using excel, the file is missing columns and not formatting properly. Have tested same csv file on different laptop (not upgraded to 10) and it's working fine. What I need to do to correct this problem.

Here are three images showing how it appears. As you can see, there is a completely variable response as to what appears. I am using the standard Windows 10 theme in a completely fresh install (not an upgrade) on a new hard disk.
I just upgraded my laptop from windows 7 to windows 10 and everything went very smoothly on the outside but I'm finding some hiccups as I go along. When I right click the start menus I do get the context menu with all the shortcuts to various apps. But when I click on, say for instance, Control Panel, instead of going to "Control Panel" I get a dialog box opening saying "Express Zip Free Version" This free version of Express Zip is licensed for non-commercial use only; Please confirm that:" then there are two options to click on and I'll only include the first one for sake of brevity, "Certify that this program is for non-commercial use only". Why in the name of all that is good does this dialog open and not a program from the context menu?
How to make context menu on the right to be like the context menu on the left?the distance between top and bottom text on the left context menu is a little bit far apart.
After updating to Windows 10, I find that the Preview button in the context menu is no longer visible as it once was in 8(.1). Is there a way to re-enable this? I mainly open my image files using something like Paint.Net and I also need to view previews of images when I program as well.
In Windows 10 build 10586 ContextMenu (right-click on start menu items) is changed and is divided to 2 parts as seen below (Menu >). Is a way to get back the build 10240 behavior and show a single menu?
The desktop context menu, Explorer context menu, and Internet Explorer/Microsoft Edger are the main ones but I want to be able to modify the rest to. I'm assuming you can't add/take away everything you want but I could really benefit from fine tuning it.
I'm running Windows 10 x64.. with very little installed outside of Office 2013 and Visual Studio 2015.
Every once in awhile I run into a situation where my right clicks no longer result in a context menu being visible.. at least mostly.. particularly when you right click the desktop and parts of the start menu/taskbar..
I finished upgrading my laptop to Window 10 Pro and I got Microsoft Money Sunset and Frontpage 2003 working. So I am happy.
An old problem came back, after a shutdown, the system "resumes" instead of starting without the option of allowing me to get into the bios. I had a fix for that for Windows 8.1 but when I tried that for Windows 10, let just say I was glad I had created a restore point.
So if your are listening Brink will you be updating your registry fix for Windows 10?
I see an article to remove the 'Include in Library' context menu item but it is for Windows 7: [URL] Can the same registry keys be used in Windows 10? If not, how can I achieve the same in Windows 10?

Run as administrator - Add to MSI File Context Menu - Windows 7 Forums
Is this still applicable for windows 10? I have not yet attempted to do this.
In my Downloads folder there are right click options to Install / Repair / Uninstall the LibreOffice installation file. I upgraded from windows 7 64 bit to windows 10 on my Lenovo G560 laptop.
I have looked at the Local Services setting for Windows Installer. The Manual option was off and I have started the service. There is no option (or I am unable) to switch to Automatic.
I have previously tried run the following commands from the cmd prompt as administrator.

I then followed the instructions to unregister and re-register Windows installer :
On the "Start" menu, Type Run in the search bar and hit enter. In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.On the "Start" menu, Type, Run in the search bar and hit enter. In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /regserver", and then press ENTER.
The other command I tried from the cmd prompt as administrator for the file filename.msi
"The installation package could not be opened. Verify that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."
I have downloaded the .msi file twice, and have downloaded from this site on many occasions without problems.
I spent yesterday fiddling with my context menu (Right-Click Menu). I downloaded and installed nearly a dozen different apps/programs. I settled on a couple and went to work adding commands. Here's the problem: Once the items show up in the Context/Right Click menu, there's no way to arrange them. Alphabetically, for example. They appear alphabetical in the software interface and in the registry, but not in the menu itself.
I can not access the "open with" menu..it's dimmed or not enabled in all the files.. Even though i can open the files with any application if i tried the menu at the top in the ribbon.
I have tried removing it from the registry and add it back again but that didn't fix it...
I am trying to find a way to remove context menu options from Windows, options that I am never ever going to use. For example, I can right-click on the desktop, navigate to Graphics options > Resolution, and I am greeted with this:
