View 4 RepliesI'm the yahoo user, need to setup my yahoo account (dc...@yahoo.com) with Outlook 2016, so how to do this?
View 2 Replies- I am using some email accounts from the same Internet service provider
- the accounts are configured apparently with the same settings
- one accounts gets through and works correctly, reading and sending emails
- the other accounts don't read, nor send
+ wrong accounts keep asking to "correct account", because "outlook mail settings of account aren't updated"
+ this happens both in Win10 Desktop and mobile.
+ the "correction" asks the password, then does nothing
+ the issue repeats at every sync, with no sync
Okay, when I set up my computer (W10 Pro preinstall / Surface Pro 4) Windows put in my private address which is also my Microsoft user account - "myname@lastname.org" - as an Outlook account. It happens to be hosed in a Google Apps for Organizations account, so it runs best when the settings are for gmail. I added my personal gmail account, this apps account, and my business account to Mail.
Now I need to delete that fake outlook account, but the option to delete the account doesn't exist. It's just an annoyance in Mail as I can hide it by turning the sync off, but it's causing problems in Calendar because it always inserts itself as the default account and, unless I manually change the account every time, my calendar events get hidden and lost to the void that this account is.
Not sure if I've set something up wrong, but when I delete mail from outlook on my WM10 phone, it removes it from my gmail account as well. but when I delete mail from mail app on my PC it only removes the copy on my PC.
Also when I delete gmail mail through web, the mail is deleted from my phone, but not my PC app.
When I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10, one of the first things I did was to set up all of my email accounts in the Outlook Mail app. For a while, the app worked perfectly. But as of recently, the app keeps crashing after 2 clicks. I was wondering, is there a way to maybe reset the app itself? I tried to uninstall it but there is no option to do this in the settings menu or even in the store!
View 2 RepliesI have an Outlook email account, when I view by emails from a laptop with windows 10 installed I cannot view any sent, deleted, saved emails older than about 2/3 weeks old. However if I logon to my email account via a laptop that does not have windows 10 installed I can see all my saved emails etc so I know they have not been deleted entirely.

Every time Windows 10 updates I have problems. I have two Outlook accounts. I can not sign into one of them.
So i reset my PC and upgraded to Windows 10. I didn't have a password or any microsoft account link to the PC (besides login on websites.) I restarted my PC today and was prompt to type in a password. The username was my brothers email address. i couldn't log in any other way and there is only one account on the PC. He some how added his account to the PC after using the PC to control his Xbox ONE to watch netflix (he lost his controller) now i cant remove the account.
View 1 RepliesOutlook Express worked fine a couple of days ago. This morning it won't open, I do not have office 365, and all the questions I've seen about Outlook not opening relate to Office. Why is Outlook not opening.
View 7 Repliesas the Mail app with Win10 does not work very well (slow to sync/loses sync) I am wanting to switch to Gmail for all my accounts - I can import my old Outlook mail fine but always get an error when trying to add the Outlook account for new mail. Any trick to getting that to work?
View 2 RepliesI upgraded my wife's Surface 3 to W10 on Friday and the good thing is that now I can add her iCloud account to the People App.
I logged into her Outlook.com account on the web and deleted all of her contacts to avoid duplicates, but all contacts in the W10 People App still show as having a "linked" Outlook entry.
Although I can manually go into each one and unlink the accounts, then delete the Outlook.com entry, how can get it to do a re-scan so it knows they have been deleted?
I can't remove the Outlook account from the People App as that's the one she signs in with and there is now option to delete it anyway.
Then I used that to connect the onedrive. Then when I rebooted, I realised I had forgotten to write down the password. This means I cannot log into windows with my user id. I've tried calling, and the automated password reset website, but because I hadn't actually sent any emails or created any folders, I cannot recover my login. I'm losing 5 years of personal pictures, wedding pictures, music, podcasts, books... it is terrible and I haven't been able to sleep since I did it.
View 6 RepliesI have deleted and recreated the *.ost file several times and it still asks for the password several times and then comes up with the following message. "Cannot expand the folder. The set of folders cannot be opened. The file C:UsersEdAppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlooksundancer245_hotmail1.ost is not an Outlook data file (.ost)." I have no problem accessing this account in FireFox and none of my other Hotmail and Outlook accounts are causing this problem in Outlook 2010. I am running Windows 10 on this computer and on my Wife's Tablet and I can access the Problematic Hotmail account from the Tablet and also from my new Lumia 950XL windows Phone 10.
View 2 RepliesTrying to set up my outlook in the Win 10 mail app...have all settings enter3ed correctly...including Outlook password for my cox email account...but every time I try to sync...sync window 10 just spins..Bigger issue is if I check the password for my outlook (Cox) account...the number of characters has doubled in Win 10 Mail settings ??My Outlook account for this mail box has 9 characters...works fine in Outlook 2003...
But when I check the password in the mail app...more than 12 characters-*'s show up in Win 10 app for password.Have deleted and added outlook mail pop a number of times...but after 'save'...I always get a much longer 'password'(*****etc) in settings than was entered in setup ?
I did the windows 10 upgrade yesterday and since then my Outlook 2010 cannot send mail. It receives mail as it should without any issues. I have multiple emails accounts with different vendors and it is doing the same on all of them so I have ruled out it being a hosting issue.I have also disabled all my internet security and firewall but that did not work at all?
View 9 RepliesTo Sync your email to Outlook after doing some email maintenance, hit the refresh button. I have attached a view of the button for reference. Note if you also are looking to manage your folders from Windows Mail, I have found that I need to do that from within Outlook. Unless someone has found another way....
View 1 RepliesI reinstalled my Office 2007 programs back on my computer after updating to Windows 10. The only problem I am having is that Outlook won't open the default browser (IE11) when a link is clicked. Instead, it pops up a box that asks me what I want to use to open and , even if I select IE as the app and check the box that says always use this app, it doesn't "remember". I've set IE as the default browser, both in Outlook and as the default browser in Control Panel. Anything else I can do to make it open link with IE instead of Edge?
View 5 RepliesI have noticed today that the Mail app in Windows 10 does not sync my Office 365 or Outlook.com accounts, nor does it provide any notifications. I have the accounts set to download messages as they come in. I can only manually sync them. Additionally, the Mail app is not listed as one of the options to run as a background app.
View 3 RepliesI'm on the build 10122 insider preview of windows 10. My outlook is not syncing to the mail and people apps. When I press refresh they keep refreshing for sometime and then just return nothing. My google account had no issues syncing to the same app. The outlook account says there is some error with the account and asks if I want to fix it, and when I press fix button, it just does nothing. I cant get to delete the account so I can reenter my credentials, how to delete account or changing credentials? The account opens fine on the web.
View 4 RepliesWhen I want to send a mail to a known person It doesn't show me the email contact when I type name or even his email address. The search contact only works If I have sent someone a mail only from the Windows 10 mail app otherwise it doesn't show the contact which I might have save or synced when I have used it on web and also on windows 8.1 mail app. Why my contacts can't be displayed when I type on Windows 10 mail app.
View 6 RepliesMy Windows 10 E-Mail app keeps telling me that "Your Outlook account settings are out of date".When i click on "Fix" then it fixes it temporarily but the issue soon returns.
View 9 RepliesI added both my outlook e-mail account and my gmail account on the windows 10 mail app...The problem i noticed is that when you a delete an e-mail on the app (from either the outlook account or the gmail account) it doesn't also delete it from the actual outlook or gmail account. I know that because if i log directly into the web versions of those accounts, that the messages i deleted are still there.
Do they get deleted after a certain period of time? I thought this was supposed to get synched to the account so that they work together...
Also, i don't always seem to get the notifications from the "action center" on windows 10, even though i have it set in the settings of each account to notify me and play the sound...
who has just installed Office 2016 on her computer, which was recently upgraded from Win7 to Win10.
She's been using Outlook.com and has accumulated a fair amount of email, contacts and calendar appointments. I've managed to get her email to show up by adding it to Outlook 2016 as a POP3 account. I was able to import her contacts into Outlook 2016 from a file called OutlookContacts.csv. Now I'm trying to get her calendar with all its many calendars and appointments into Outlook 2016.
I'm not sure why but the appointments all show up just fine in Mail and Calendar for Windows 10, even though we did nothing to put them there (as far as we know). But she'd like them to appear when she clicks on the Calendar in Outlook 2016 and I can't find any information on how to do that. I've also looked for some kind of Export function in the Mail and Calendar for Windows 10 app but I came up empty.
How do I get her calendar into Outlook 2016?
I can't be the only one who finds Microsoft *awful* at documenting this kind of basic functionality. Millions of people must have tried to do the same thing before me but if there's any information out there on how to do this, it has eluded me so far....
My parents Windows 7 laptop fried recently, I got them a new HP 350 G2 which came with Win8.1 and i upgraded to 10. My father used to use outlook express with an email through his ISP, and the only way I see to import that email into a new account involves being on the computer using outlook express and using the migration tool. Obviously I can't do that since that computer is toast (the motherboard fried).
View 6 RepliesI am having some trouble with Mail and Calendar app on Windows 10. I've just updated my OS.
Earlier today my wife synced her gmail account without any problems, the question is: we cant remove it, double clicking over the account don't show the option to remove.
Also, when I try to add my microsoft account i get an error message: 0x8000ffff
