Upgraded my Sony Vaio SVE15115ENW to Windows 10 Home. Now, I am unable find the Bluetooth option in settings menu. Have downloaded and installed the Atheros drivers as well as Intel drivers for Bluetooth from Sony website. But nothing worked. There's nothing in the device manager. Earlier, The get windows 10 app did not show any compatibility issues.
View 3 RepliesSony VAIO AIO model SVL241290X, Core i7, 2Tb HDD 64 bit, started doing a startup/shutdown constantly (not exactly a loop) never getting to POST or Welcome screen for Windows 10. It started doing it when I hooked up an old HDD to move files from it to the VAIO which had been in a machine that did the same thing. Thought it was a bad motherboard on the old PC, but now I think it's a virus. Whenever I power the VAIO down by pressing/holding the power button, and starting it up again, it just resumes with HDD activity but never shows anything on the monitor.
Even the VAIO Assist button doesn't work. Also can't get to BIOS or Safe Mode. Sounds like a virus - maybe a rootkit MBR virus? Right now I can't do anything with this machine. Normal troubleshooting does not work. I don't have any restore discs or bootable recovery discs, although I am creating a copy of Windows 10 on USB drive with Microsoft's Media Creation Tool. But, without being able to designate the USB port to look at first in BIOS, that won't work either. Most important things are backed up, but I have a few things I would not like to lose.
I got a laptop (Sony Vaio VPCEG17FB). I used to use Windows 7, which was already installed on it when I bought it. It was extremely easy to enable Stereo Mix on Windows 7.
But now I've just installed Windows 10. The same procedure which worked to enable Stereo Mix on Windows 7 doesn't work on Windows 10.
How can I enable Stereo Mix on Windows 10?
I'm on a Sony Vaio Pro 13 running Windows 10 64bit. Ever since upgrading to Windows 10 I've been experiencing strange horizontal distortion on the right half of the screen while viewing videos through any internet browser. The issue seems to be confined to YouTube ads (actual videos themselves are fine), news websites, and other websites whose video encoding is presumably similar. I've attached a fairly shoddy image I took with my phone to demonstrate the issue.
I have upgraded and tried reinstalling any driver that I thought was feasibly connected to video playback to no avail.

I've created a usb with media creation tool but when I boot from usb have a bootloop.
I updated to Windows 10 a week or so ago, and since then I've noticed that I no longer seem to have a right-hand click menu function: on Chrome/Explorer, it opens the link I'm clicking on in another tab or window, but on everything else either nothing at all happens or the scrolling arrows appear. why this is, and how to get it back?
(to be clear: I'm talking about the menu that has copy/paste/select all etc on standard programs, or thesaurus/font etc on Microsoft Word.)
My laptop is a Sony Vaio E series running windows 10, for whatever reason it has stopped loading the Microsoft Solitaire Collection, it gets to the page and the loading will stay there forever. I have experienced many minor problems since upgrading to windows 10, it gives one the feeling windows 10 is still in beta form.

Settings > Devices has no Bluetooth option listed.
I have searched the web and some postings said my particular model does not have Bluetooth included.
Yet, in my Services, there are 2 listings of Bluetooth.
Further question............. is there any Bluetooth program I can download to my laptop? I had run into one called NFC but it did nothing.
bluetooth option not showing... device manager says 'device working properly'...actually i want to share my wifi via bluetooth... currently doing it via usb using PdaNet ... but my cord is not long enough to the location i desire.

I've turned off the Bluetooth services etc but still it won't go off. Bit unsure why it won't go as i have no wireless adapter installed in my PC.
View 7 RepliesJust a while ago i was using my bluetooth just fine on my laptop with headsets. I lost connection (headset battery ran out) so i turned bluetooth off then quit the settings app. Going back, bam! no bluetooth settings. Trying to search "bluetooth" takes me to airplane mode and there are no bluetooth settings there. I don't know how to turn it back on again. Are there any third-party bluetooth software because this is the second time I'm having this problem (first was on windows 8.1) and often I had to restart the computer.

View 2 RepliesOk so I have a wireless Bluetooth device. It has worked fine connected to a windows 7 and 8 computer. Now I am trying it on 10. For the software I wrote for it to work properly I need to be able to specify which COM port it uses when connecting.
In windows 7 and 8 I would then go to "Bluetooth settings", click "New Connection", and then follow the setup wizard. Here I would be able to set the device to be in Dev mode and specify the COM port to always use. In the new windows 10 "Bluetooth settings" program I can not find a way to do this.
Also I have two different "Bluetooth settings" programs show up in the start menu. One I can open up and it will show my device, but I am unable to do what I mentioned above. The other program with this name has the same icon as what is on my Windows 7 and 8 machines, but gives me the error "unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)"
I have Windows 10. When I select the Settings option there is not an option to turn on Hey Cortana. The first option is "Cortana can give you suggestions..." and the second is "Device search history". Where to find the option to turn on "Hey Cortana" as it should be under Settings according tot he sites I have read.
View 2 RepliesI have a Compaq CQ61-410 Notebook. After upgrading to Windows 10 I no longer have WiFi capabilities. In Windows - Settings - Network & Internet I do not have a WiFi option listed. However, if I go to Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network Connections I see my wireless service listed. I have confirmed that I have the correct drivers loaded - Qualcomm Atheros. When I diagnose this connection I get the following message:
There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapterWindows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter.
How do I put my pictures from Sony camera to Windows 10? It was so easy with Windows 8 as the camera sign came up on my File Explorer and I just copied them to My Pictures! So my pictures are now stuck on my camera!!!!!
View 8 RepliesI updated to windows 10 on my Sony Vaio fit 13a SVF13N25CG (running Windows 8.1 when bought) yesterday. And I updated by following the instructions from sony.
After updated, I wanted to clear all data on my notebook, so I executed windows 10 factory reset (didn't use the factory reset provided by Vaio). So all the pre-installed programs, including Vaio care, are lost. I just want to reset the notebook to the situation when I bought it. However, when I executed Vaio recovery solutions and try to "started recovery wizard" -> "skip rescue", a error 393 appeared (An error occurred while executing an application).
What can I do to solve this problem? I just want to reset my notebook to its factory setting (same as when I bought it).
I made a recovery usb using vaio care before I carried out factory reset. But it didn't work under the rescue mode of Vaio (same as the error 393 mentioned above, to "started recovery wizard" -> "skip rescue", a error 393 appeared).
I have a VAIO F Series VPCF217HG that I just upgraded to Windows 10 a few days ago. So far everything worked fine except one problem.
I have a perfect internet collection, as in I am still able to go on to websites and download/upload stuffs, but every time I try to use any of the Microsoft features, it keeps saying that I don;t have an internet connection. I cannot use Cortana or Windows update and a lot of other features. I tried to use the ""Use SSL 2.0""Use SSL 3.0""Use TSL 1.0""Use TSL 1.1""Use TSL 1.2"" fix but it did't work.
I thought it was because of my outdated Mcafee, so I uninstalled it but the problem still persists afterwards.
I can tap the screen and operate scroll bars but cannot change pages or scroll by simply flicking. This seemed to begin after an update called eGalax USB touchscreen. I can't find it and the normal HID USB touchscreen device is not in my device manager, it is however in hidden devices and greyed out.
View 1 RepliesI just upgraded my htpc computer from win7 to win10 this morning. I have an Asus P7H55 motherboard with onboard Intel HD graphics H55 series. things were not perfect to start with.
Situation before the upgrade:
- if I was watching a moving in full screen on Netflix and went away forgetting to come back to the main web page, 9/10 when I would come back to the PC, the TV would somehow have forgotten it was connected and flash as it had lost its signal. I had to hard-reboot the computer, then the problem was fixed until next time. I never was able to figure out why it did that - overheating? incompatibility when going to idle / screensaver if in full screen? was it specific to the TV? I just went with it.
Situation after the upgrade:
Now, the TV just won't display the computer, period. I know something changed during the install of win10 - as the TV screen suddenly went dark then an error message "incompatible" started showing at the bottom of the screen.
What I tried so far:
- I went on Asus' website to try to download windows 10 drivers. Somehow they seem to have forgotten putting them on their website. The 8.1 ones dont work either.
- I tried downloading stuff from Intel (they provide the chipset and graph card) but so far haven't had much success
What I'd like to avoid:
- in some research, I found that some people had to connect using VGA instead of HDMI to fix this problem with their Sony Bravia TV. I'm not thrilled with this idea as the resolution and quality would degrade compared to HDMI.
- if at all possible I'd also like to avoid having to purchase a brand new graph card for this computer.

Unable to load media file to Sony Vegas Platinum 13.0 since I upgraded to windows 10 from 7, error message Unsupported Open GL version. HitFilm requires 2.0 or above. Current hardware GL 1.1 GLSL 0.0. This happened after the upgrade to windows 10.
How do I get the GL 2.0 or above?
Can I use switch user option on power option list or on start menu list ?

View 4 RepliesPower & Sleep settings won't save my screen brightness settings. On my plugged in HP laptop default the screen brightness is set to maximum despite making changes in the Power & Sleep menu screen. I've even tried creating my own Power Plan but the next time it restarts it changes to the HP recommended power plan which sets the screen brightness to maximum.
