I freely admit that, in the greater scheme of crashes, re-installs and general weirdness that has been my Win10 experience to date, this is a very tiny thing. But it's annoying me. I'm using CSR bluetooth stack 2.1.63. First time I installed it, it worked perfectly. Now I'm on a more successful rebuild, I cannot get the correct Bluetooth icon in the task bubble! It's always grayed out (and even this was a challenge; I had no icon until I re-did the driver installation twice.)
It struck me that it might not be too hard to either change Windows' path to the icon or replace the grey one with blue. If only I knew where to look. What do you think?
just turned on my pc and i can see an icon in my system tray saying " Get Windows 10 " . What is this ? Is it like the final version or demo ?

View 1 RepliesAfter I did a free upgrade from 7 to 10 on visiting Control PanelAll Control Panel ItemsSystem I used to see Under Windows activation at the bottom not only that Windows is activated but also an Icon confirming that the Windows was genuine.
Now for some mysterious reason the genuineness Icon has disappeared. I wonder why this has happened.
Windows icon, search bar, Edge icon which are at bottom left in task bar, when clicked pops up a message saying CRITICAL ERROR, then causes my computer to restart. How do I fix this?
View 1 RepliesHere is my problem: I keep my folders in different settings, some with large icons, some with details view.
Today they are all reset to details view, and items are listed by name. Every folder is reset to the same settings. When I try to change they always defaults to details view. Even when I go to another folder and press back, the settings are already reset.
Also, icons on desktop are keep returning to default state (big icons), I keep them smaller, when I hold ctrl and scroll mouse wheel they become smaller, but next time I reset windows they return to default (big icons) view. I already cleaned shellbag in regedit, reset windows but it is still the same.
I saw this other theme with similar problem, but I am not using Eset, I use Kaspersky.
Also I don't have this key in my registry :
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsShellBags1Desktop
Recently my PC just started to have some weird problem. Everytime after I restarted my PC or just restarted explorer.exe, my desktop icon reset from small size to medium and sorting order also reset. Besides I also noticed that in every folder view settings also reset.
The reason why I suspected it caused by one of the updates because I just formatted my PC. Everything was normal in the beginning but after I updated the windows. The exact problem came back.
The left-click on my Start icon has stopped working and several reboots have not resolved the situation. My Windows key doesn't work either. I cannot launch Edge either. I'm running Windows 10 Home on a new Dell laptop.
What the heck is going on and how do I fix it? I've got apps that don't appear on my desktop which I am completely unable to use now.
For what it's worth, I can right-click the Start button since my latest reboot but I can't left-click it. (On the previous reboot, I couldn't right- or left-click it.)
I need this machine working ASAP because I use it for my job and my shift just started!
I can no longer use Search/Cortana as the Windows icon or Windows key are unresponsive and there is no way to open Search the web and Windows. Also, can no longer open Action Center.
Everything was working fine after upgrade from Windows 7 for awhile, then the above happened. (except for Action Center). After a clean install, things went well for awhile, and then started having the same problems again.
Any way to hide it for good? Not disabling it, because that could cause some trouble, just that doesn't show in the tray? A .reg file would be awesome.
I want this for 2 reasons: First, I don't use it, I use USB Disk Ejector; and second because it's wasting space. And don't worry, everything in there has a purpose, as myself installed everyone of them.
About a week ago the calculator started opening and then closing instantly so I tried re-registering the windows apps following a guide which used the powershell and running a command. This unfortunately seems to have made the situation worse and I now get @Microsoft.windowsapps.calculator appearing when I search for the calculator in start and the store displays a white icon and does not open. I have attached screenshots of what happens below:

Laptop starts up and I wait for some time but it's still gets stuck and the loading icon appears and then I have to press the button to switch it otherwise it take ages to start.
View 1 RepliesAfter a driver (I think one related to Intel graphics, but i am not shure) was unsuccesfully installed, I had a BSOD problem, hard restart, kernel error message (unable to reproduce it afterward). Some applications from taskbar partially work (Office, Skype), some not. I am unable to open the Start menu (but the right click still works). The Edge disapeared, I post from anothe PC. Restarted a few times, tried to restore to a previous backup of drivers - nothing works.
View 1 RepliesCurrently, my OneDrive icon is sitting in the 'hidden icons' section. I have seen pictures of the icon sitting on the taskbar next to Edge, the store, and all the other taskbar icons... how do you get that icon on the taskbar? I have tried all the normal ways I can think of (click and drag onto taskbar, going into taskbar settings, etc) but I can't get it to be removed from the hidden icons area.
View 2 RepliesI left-click on the windows icon, but nothing happens. Right-click, though, gives a pop-up list. How to restore the left-click behaviour?
View 13 RepliesI installed Windows 10 four days ago. At that time I lost audio. Once I rebooted it came back. Last night when I shut down, Windows indicated it was doing an update.Today (even after rebooting) I have no audio. Not even a sound icon in the system tray. When I go through Properties to turn those icons on or off the Sound option is grayed back.
I have a Lenovo G570 laptop. I use the built in speakers. When I go to the Control Panel those speakers are still shown as the default speakers. When I check Device Manager and search for Driver Updates I get a a message that the drivers are up to date.
When I pin the Crome exe to start menu all is well, but if I change the size to small it will lose the icon and tile is faded?
View 6 RepliesThe power icon, which isn't being displayed on the taskbar, is not selectable in the SETTINGS area, as described here...
System Icons - Turn On or Off in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
About a week ago an icon for Recycle Bin appeared on my taskbar near the right side. (see the attached image.) Not a pin but a larger icon, just like the one residing on my desktop. In fact, it is identical, having the same right click menu. The only resolution suggested was to set up a new user account. But, as I like my setup and don't want to spend the time to recreate it in a new account, I've resolved to live with the icon.
View 3 RepliesI am still adjusting from IE to Edge and Windows 10. How do I add a Print icon (or something similar) to the taskbar?
View 3 RepliesI keep turning off Input Indicator but at restart/boot its back (turns its self back on) is this a glitch in Windows 10.
View 1 RepliesI have a weird problem, I downloaded the Windows 10 ISO using the Media Creation Tool and now for some reason, the Get Windows 10 icon in the taskbar disappeared so I'm not able to get any alerts when it's ready to install.
View 3 RepliesMy One Drive icons have disappeared. Is there a way to get them back?
View 8 Replieshow to get rid of that annoying UAC shield icon Windows 10 likes to randomly put on shortcuts? I know I could shut UAC off but the second I do stuff like personalize starts throwing a built-in admin error, and such. There has to be a way somehow.
View 2 RepliesOne of my pinned items on the taskbar (MusicBee) refuses to act properly. It always shows two instances of the icon when the program is open.
I tried unpinning the items, opening the program from it's folder and then right-click > Pin to taskbar but that creates a duplicate icon as well.
I also checked C:UsersMYNAMEAppDataRoamingMicrosoftInternet ExplorerQuick LaunchUser PinnedTaskBar for duplicate shortcuts but there is only one.
