I have a odd bug which is causing some of Windows 10's Features to not work. I am using an Ethernet cord, I can still connect but in the bottom it's showing Limited connection and when I click on it, It's showing No Internet and nothing is popping up.

My Internet through ethernet and wifi were both working fine yesterday and now nothing..
I've tried troubleshooting, Driver installs, ip config, firewall settings, and spent hours reading forums but just can't sort it.
Hp pavilion laptop.
I upgraded to Windows 10 on my home PC and now every time I connect to this PC from another PC I can use it for a bit and then all of a sudden it disconnects and when I try to log back in it then doesn't connect anymore.
Then when I actually go to this PC again I see that my LAN Ethernet connection is set to "Limited" and I have to restart my PC to get everything back to normal.
Is my Broadcom Ethernet card not compatible with Windows 10?
So I installed Windows 10 3 days ago via the USB provided by Microsoft through purchase on their online store. Since the install I have found that my WiFi connection, on startup, will work for maybe 2 minutes before dropping down to "Limited" and occasionally disconnecting entirely.
My PC is custom built and has worked perfectly fine for the almost 2 years I've had it. I've tried everything from resetting the router, having my ISP replace the router, uninstalling my Wireless Adapter from the Device Manager tool, installing the latest driver updates (Windows 8 for Rosewill RNX-N250PCe) and even running the ipconfig release/renew (which didn't release for some reason.)
So, my wireless router went out on me yesterday during a thunderstorm, which I replaced today. My desktop will not connect to the wireless network at all. I have it connected right now, through my cellphone's hot spot. Also, I can connect my phone to the wireless network as well as a different desktop and get internet access, which suggests something wrong with this desktop, I would imagine.
Network Adapters:
ASUS PCE-N10 11n Wireless LAN PCI-E Card
Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet
I'm sure some additional information may be needed but I'm not sure what you would need, so I'll gladly provide what I can if needed.
Today, when i opened my PC i found out that i have "No internet connection". The last time i used it was last night, and it worked like a charm. The problem is from the software itself I guess because other devices seem to be working fine connected to the internet. This also happened to me while using windows 8.1 but I got it fixed everytime with a simple "netsh" command. Now things aren't this simple, i tried multiple fixes and none of them worked. I tried to update the driver from the device manager but i can't find the microsoft and the producer driver, instead i find some outdated drives from like 2013.

I am on a college campus and having a computer with no internet is like a truck driver without a truck. I am able to connect to the Internet at random times for a few moments before it shows up with limited acces symbol on my wifi icon in the bottom right hand corner. My internet works fine when it is plugged in through an Ethernet cable but that is very inconvenient.

View 1 RepliesI have recently upgraded to Windows 10. I am having a problem with all of the web browsers installed on my system (except the one built in to Steam). My conncetion is perfectly fine, but I cannot connect to Facebook or Google on Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer or Firefox, and can't connect to Reddit on Firefox only. I tried pinging each of these websites on my command prompt and recieved responses each time. These seem to be the only websites affected by the problem. The web browser built in to Steam seems uneffected by this problem.
View 1 RepliesWoke up this morning to find that on my desktop the Store keeps saying "Check Your Connection" and prompting me to reload the page. Meanwhile, Cortana can't pull up interests. It's not an actual connectivity issue, since web+email+everything else works just fine (I'm posting from the same computer now). Tried the obvious things, plus a sfc /scannow with no luck. BTW, I'm not using Insider builds, but I tried to move to it just to see if a new build would fix my PC and it says "Something went wrong, we don't know what." Perhaps that issue is connected as well. It's odd, because nothing has changed recently.

I have always automatic updates and I only have a very limited bandwidth. And is there any tool usb tether my phone to my laptop?

Connection to Internet through Wi-Fi is not happening after that though it is happening via LAN Cable.
Whenever I try to connect through Wi-Fi it gets stuck showing Limited Connectivity and No Internet Access.
I went through some threads and found that it can be solved by disabling "Block Internet Connection Sharing" setting in Bit Defender but I am not using Bit Defender.
I am using Windows Defender instead and am not able to find such setting in that.
I am experiencing Problem with the wifi connectivity after I updated my Dell Inspiron 15 3521. I updated the Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHz) to the latest and tried every steps I could find in the blogs, youtube and communities talk but still couldn't fix the problem.

Yesterday I thought I had a connection issue with the Internet, and set the computer aside until it was resolved. Later I checked my phone, and saw that the WiFi is actually working just fine. View 1 RepliesMy internet was working fine for quite a while after upgrading to win10, but one day both the wifi and ethernet stopped working. They both show a limited connection, or sometimes even fail to identify the network. The error message in the troubleshooter for both ethernet and wifi is 'doesn't have a valid ip configuration'. I have tried rebooting and resetting the router, re-installing network drivers, and restarting everything involved.
The wifi card is called "TP-LINK Wireless PCI Express Adapter" and the ethernet adapter is "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller" and is connected by a Cat5e ethernet cable.
So i recently updated to windows 10, and i noticed i wasn't connected to my Ethernet anymore, so i had to connect my PC to the wifi. Under my "network Adapters" it only shows "Qualcomm Atheros 802.11 1/b/g/n" I tried connecting another ethernet cable, but nothing happened.

CABLING
First the network config:
Two notebooks, C and D are plugged into a switch and the switch plugged into the router. Now, the cabling is verified to work because computer C, running Win7 connects just fine and if the internet cables are swapped, computer C still connects just fine.
Computer D however does not connect. I did some other things to redundantly check too, just FYI.
So cabling looks OK.
ROUTER
both computers have fixed (reserved) IP addresses in the router.
The router sees computer C
but not computer D
Just FYI, if I turn on Wi-Fi, the router sees D on WiFi, but not the ethernet.
PING
Computer C can ping D
Computer D can ping C
Computer C can ping the router
Computer D cannot ping the router
Some investigation suggested the following, all of which I tried with no better results:
- Update the network adapter drivers (already current)
- Winsock posible culprit, so NETSH WINSOCK RESET and reboot - no change
IE used to find and fix these things pretty well, but here we have EDGE. Perhaps I'll try to install IE. Connectivity diagnostics are where IE shined over Chrome and Mozilla.
UPDATE: IE 9, 10, etc. are not compatible with Windows 10. So, the connectivity diagnostics just not as good in Win10. I can tell I am getting tired, as it's getting hard not to swear.

I was using free upgrade from windows 7. After installing Windows 10 on my laptop, I cannot connect with wifi but can with ethernet. What should I do?
View 1 RepliesThere is 2 computers and 2 virgin superhubs in the house i live in (not both mine) both ethernet connected. Occasionally i have to unplug my superhub and connect my desktop computer to the Wifi on the other hub which is in the next room.
My computer obviously "remembers" the password for the WiFi and i used to be able to just unplug my hub and it would automatically connect to the WiFi without me having to do anything.
Since switching to Windows 10, when i unplug my hub, it says that it is connected to the WiFi however it says "limited" and no websites work, effectively not connected even though it says it is.
To solve it i have to leave my hub unplugged and restart my computer and it connects instantly and works. Whilst that isn't a huge problem, i sometimes could do without having to save what i'm doing just to restart the computer as i have never had to do this before.
I downloaded windows 10 the first day I was able to access the internet. Now it's saying its limited. I troubleshooted and it says it does not have valid IP configuration and in the wireless connection it says unidentified network. It says public network shouldn't it be on private? Need straightening this out. Like I said it worked fine one day and now its says no interternt and limited. Sigh.
View 15 RepliesA couple days ago I noticed that instead of having the ethernet in my taskbar that it is connected to wifi. I dont understand that because I have been using hardwire forever. To top it off my xbox connects via ethernet, but my pc wont. have tried the same cable that connects my xbox. I am pretty sure this is causing serious game lag, and i dont know what to do at this point. i cant access my router settings either. i type 192.168.1.1 and it doesnt load. that is the same ip address that i have always used before.
So this solution did work in a sense. Once reinstalled my drivers, my computer did detect that there was a ethernet plugged in, but it said the there was no connection. I disabled wifi on the computer, so it can only connect to ethernet. even tho it says that there is not internet connection through ethernet, everything is working great. It permanently has the Caution symbol over my internet.
