View 3 RepliesI there a way to add a .wav file to the choice of alarm sounds. I can hardly hear the ones available because they are too short. I have some songs as well as ringers that I can hear across the room.
Another question is since the W-10 update I have been bugged by scrolling. On occassion, an icon pops up with 4 arrows left, right, up & dn. When I move the mouse then I scroll all over the place. I can shut it off by a click of the left mouse key How to disable eetc.
So, I am Running Windows 10 Home, and I was browsing the store as usual, but I was trying to figure out how to turn down the music volume when I was testing the sound bit rate of it, is there a way to do that? Or is it just stuck at default sound? Also, is it possible to add my own Windows Store Music to my iPad? As I would love to have it whilst I'm walking through town.
View 4 RepliesI'm using a HP Probook 4440s which I upgraded from 8.1 to 10 Pro.
I'm facing quite a peculiar problem with sound. My sound output through the speakers is quite normal when I use things like VLC (for Windows), Youtube etc.
But, whenever I open apps like say, VLC (From the Store) or say games like MC5, it's completely mute! Like no sound.
When I play movies on my tablet it's all OK. But, when I do the same thing on my lap top I only get sound.
View 2 RepliesI'm looking for a program to make speakers not consume power when no audio is playing. Is it possible?
View 5 RepliesSo i wanted to watch youtube video in microsoft edge. When I start watching video sound starts gliching/freezing, that happens when i use hypper youtube client from microsoft store.
View 1 RepliesThe Conexant HD Audio Sound Driver was replace by High Definition Audio Device after i update to Windows 10 Home Version 1511 from 1011
Now if i want to plug my earphones to the left side of the computer where the audio jack socket is located the sound does not transfer to my earphones except i will change the default sound device from speakers to headphones.
How can i set it to automatically when i plugin my headphones/earphones/external speaker automatically transfer the sound to this device without changing the settings?
I just bought this sound card and installed drivers for Windows 10. (and a crapton of bloatware with UI of Win XP media player...)
Everything works well except one thing: when I change the sound (or mute) I don't see Windows 10 volume bar. I mean these:
The sound itself changes, but there is no indicator. Is there a way to fix that?
Windows 10 Pro play sound at startup is checked but the select a sound option is grayed out...
View 6 RepliesI would like to eliminate the sound when I adjust the volume on the sound icon in the lower right hand area of the task bar . Wat steps I can take to be able to still adjust the volume, but not hear the loud sound it makes when adjusting?
View 3 RepliesI was previously on Windows 7 and upgraded to 10 when the notifications came out last month. In W7 I was able to open the SOUND RECORDER program
and then record sounds from the video that was playing through the internet explorer I was using at that time. It did NOT matter which internet explorer I was using, be it IE or CHROME or FIREFOX, etc. I was previously able to open a video, for example youtube, and then record the sound that was playing into the SOUND RECORDER program, and then save that file on my desktop as a WMA.
I have not been able to find the SOUND RECORDER program in Windows 10. Is it gone? I've tried downloading a couple freebie programs that are similar to it, but they're not recording the sounds either. So now I'm thinking maybe Windows 10 bypassed or simply disregarded my sound card altogether, ? Is that a possibility?
I just installed the most recent windows 10 tech preview last night; but my sound blaster pci express sound card did not get installed correctly or something because i am getting no sound at all. I roll everything back to the old setup.
View 9 RepliesI have my Windows 10 for around 3 days now, the thing is, in the second day after my computer froze when i was playing counter strike, everything in the task bar but my shortcuts stopped working, they dont open anymore, but when i click it, the cursor blue loading circle shows up but nothing happens.
View 1 RepliesI have had Windows 10 installed for about 4 months now and things have been going decent. A couple of days ago my system received a Windows 10 update that took about 2 hours and looked like it was installing Windows all over again (but it wasn't) and once this happened I couldn't find the Microsoft Edge application and the start button would not work at all. After doing a system restore to a date prior to the update things are back to "normal" except for this one problem.Currently my start menu does not show any Recently Used or Favorite Apps in it as shown below. If I select the All apps button it also shows nothing:
I made sure that all of the settings in order to see recently used apps and all my apps are correct as below are my settings:I have tried a couple of solutions that handled Cortana not searching for programs or "some" apps were missing from all apps but I have yet to find a solution to when absolutely no apps are showing in the start menu. I know the applications still exist on my machine as I use Firefox and Microsoft Word and Outlook plus many more apps but they aren't showing up at all. I am also under a local account instead of my Microsoft account and both have this problem.
This started 2 days ago. When ever i alt tab my sound stops working and mic stops working. I then have to disable both my mic and speaker and re enable them to fix it.
View 1 RepliesI have recently deleted my audio drivers and reinstalled them but my microphone is not working. I have set the right microphone as the default device and changed the microphone volume to the max but it has not fixed anything.
View 1 RepliesOK, I got Windows 10 but when I get to the welcome screen there is no sound like when I had Windows 7. There is no sound only on the welcome screen.
View 3 RepliesI've found that when I start up my computer, after a random amount of time (but always when I'm away from my computer), my computer will do two things. First, the sound will shut off. No sound will play from any sources. Second, if I try to play a video, it will play very slowly and with a lot of stuttering.
View 3 RepliesAfter installing recent updates 12/10/15 I have no sound???
I checked my monitor and all is fine. I checked drivers and they are all up to date?
I am a grandma but I am computer literate.
I've tried getting this issue resolved with Microsofts technical support - but they appear to be clueless!
The default Windows 10 media app ('Film & TV') plays back my video files without any sound.....When I open the same videos with Quicktime or even the old Windows Media Player they play with sound absolutely fine.
I'd rather use the default app, so how to resolve this?
I installed Windows 10 four days ago. At that time I lost audio. Once I rebooted it came back. Last night when I shut down, Windows indicated it was doing an update.Today (even after rebooting) I have no audio. Not even a sound icon in the system tray. When I go through Properties to turn those icons on or off the Sound option is grayed back.
I have a Lenovo G570 laptop. I use the built in speakers. When I go to the Control Panel those speakers are still shown as the default speakers. When I check Device Manager and search for Driver Updates I get a a message that the drivers are up to date.
I no longer have sound on my computer after the install of Windows 10. I have turned the volume all the way up and I still don't get any sound. I had sound before the install so I am not sure what I need to do to get it back.
View 14 RepliesQuite simply after updating to Windows 10 I've have had no sound on my computer for months now and don't know what to do. I've updated drivers like 12 times and I still don't get any sound and it's annoying having to put headphones in all the time. I have an Alienware and the crappy part is that I'd only had it a couple weeks before it happened. It happend right after the update so I'm guessing it has to do with something on the OS.
