I don't know if this problem is caused because of latest Windows 10 update or not, but lately I noticed when I turn on my PC, or even restart, my keyboard (Corsair K70) gets turned off, while my mouse still working fine. This is the period after bios & logo, when both keyboard & mouse are turned off & then mouse gets turned on again on logon, but my keyboard doesn't. I need to re-plug it to get it working again. They both are connected via USB ports. In device manager also everything is all right, no errors or anything like that. I tried to update driver via device manager. It said "latest driver is already installed".
View 9 RepliesInstalled MSI's "Fast boot" software, upon restarting every time I am greeted with a bluescreen mentioning it not detecting a device.
MSI Fast boot also seems to increase the time it takes for the mouse and keyboard to start so when it asks "Press enter to Retry, or F8 to change settings" i cannot do anything as the keyboard and mouse are not on.
If its possible to fix this without reinstalling.
When I open the on screen keyboard on my Asus VivoTab 8 with my stylus it opens the "writing box" rather than the actual keyboard. Obviously this writing box isn't very useful because it's inaccurate and you can't really write more than one word at a time. My question is, how do I make the keyboard pop up by default? It's extremely annoying always having to switch to the keyboard manually.
edit And is there any way to make the keyboard semi-transparent so it doesn't block half the screen? To me this seems like an obvious feature that any on screen keyboard should have.
How to press two button in on screen keyboard ? I mean shift+end or shift+home. Its a very useful feature of selecting a long line.
View 2 RepliesOn the surface pro 3 running Windows 10, the handwriting input panel appears by default when running as a tablet. I would rather use the onscreen keyboard as the default option. Yet when I change to the keyboard, the next time I click in a text box, the handwriting panel appears again!
View 2 RepliesThe on screen keyboard on the Surface pro is tiny in the new Windows 10 builds! It is probably 1/4 of the size that it was in Windows 8.1. Is there any way to enlarge it?
View 11 RepliesI'm having a weird issue since i installed windows 10, After installing, drivers, apps, etc., suddenly after using the PC for a few days, after startup apps finish loading and everything, when i try to open any application (browser, explorer, something with uac prompt, anything..) The screen flashes and turns off for a second and then everything come back to normal, This is my 2nd fresh installation for windows 10, I thought there could be something wrong with the drivers, i double checked them, I even replaced all of the apps that i used to have! , spent lots of time to look for alternatives (Avira instead of Kaspersky, 7zip instead of WinRAR, etc.),

How do I change the font displayed on the on screen keyboard keys?
View 2 RepliesJust upgraded (via Windows Update) from Win 7 Pro to Windows 10.Upgrade generally went smoothly, but....My PC now shuts down very slowly and oddly. The screen and keyboard turn off normally, in a few seconds, but the system box (fans, etc.) remain on for about 2-3 minutes longer. What the system is doing while this is going on!
View 9 RepliesI can capitalize every letter/symbol except for letters "t" and "m." In order for me to capitalize them, I have to use the caps lock function.
I can't even use the on-screen keyboard to capitalize said letters, it simply doesn't go through.
This might or might not be a hardware issue as I've used two different mostly new keyboards and the function works fine on a different PC.
On W8.1, it'd appear on just about every blank box I'd touch with my finger. Now it almost never appears, for anything. Is this supposed to happen, or is it a bug?
View 3 RepliesHere is the problem I have experienced for the on-screen keyboard (with or without tablet mode),
- When the on-screen keyboard comes up, the windows will not automatically resize to make way. The Keyboard will end up covering the window. (In Windows 8.1, all windows will resize.) (In Windows 10, only Store App and Microsoft Edge knows how to resize.)
I recently tried windows 10... didnt like it. Did the recall back to windows 7 option. Let it do its thing. Came back and my computer was trying to rapair itself... said could not reboot windows is checking for a solution.. I let it go.. it said no solution found. View 1 RepliesWhen running windows 7, for the first few seconds upon booting my laptop, it would display a startup message,
"Press ESC for boot selection, F2 for setup, etc......."
Now, nothing. I cannot choose to enter setup, BIOS, get to ESC for a boot selection screen in case I might want to boot from a flash drive or a floppy just once. How to get it back either.
On Friday, I updated my HP Envy 20 to Windows 10. Once the update was finished my computer started up fine, however, my antivirus software (AVG) said there was an update and I needed to restart. I did so and after the restart and HP logo screen I had a black, but luminescent screen. After a maybe ten minutes of the screen staying like this, I held the power button down to turn the computer off and then restarted it with no problems. I turned it off Friday night normally and it ran normally all day Saturday. Sunday when I turned the computer on the power light came on and I could hear the fans turn on, but the screen remained black. Just black, not even a luminescent black like when I did the antivirus restart. I tried a hard restart like before but nothing changed. I left the computer on like that for around an hour and nothing changed. Figuring it was maybe a heat issue, I opened up the case and dusted the fan and the heat sink but the problem remains. I posted this problem on the HP support board a few days ago and have heard nothing.
View 4 RepliesBasically a staticy flashing white screen spams on my first startup if i power down pc it works fine the 2nd time.
View 1 RepliesI recently tried to reset Windows 10, but it wouldn't let me. So I started up my pc after and now it's just a black screen. Before all this I was trying to fix my nvidia drivers, and someone recommended me to reset Windows and now Windows won't even start.
View 1 RepliesI've seen the regular dashes on startup, but now, a dash comes up on the screen, and doesn't move. It just stays stuck.
View 1 RepliesI sometimes connect to my Windows 10 PC at my work place from home.
When I was using Windows-7(work place PC), I was able to select the menu button (lower-left) and select 'Lock Screen' menu from the shutdown sub-menu. I recently received a new desktop PC which is Windows-10, but I found Windowns 10 doesn't have such 'lock-screen' menu that I can choose with my mouse. So the only way I can lock the screen is using Window-L button which is ok when I'm at work. But when I'm remotely logged in from my home, if I press Window-L keys, my home notebook is screen locked, not my work place Desktop.
windows 10 my search bar and start button on keyboard and screen does not work.
View 8 RepliesSince today morning I am not able to login to my Win10 PC. It starts normal until the lock Screen appears. The clock in the lock Screen is working, so everything seems to be ok. But the System does not react on any keyboard or mouse Input.
The Keyboard is working perfectly in the BOOT Menue (after F2 during Startup). So I am quite sure that this is not a hardware problem.
I've been using Windows 10 for few weeks now and it's been really good.
8GB Ram
1 TB Hard Disc
Asus Motherboard
i5 processor
Used the PC as I would normally do and shut it down last night. Recently installed the latest update for Win 10 as I recall. Otherwise no new changes or installation to the system.
So now when I switched it on its showing Automatic Startup Repair and it diagnose the PC but fails every time and shows a blue screen of startup repair where I can:-
- reset PC (reinstall but this fails at 36%)
- system restore or image restore ( but can't use either)
- startup repair (doesn't work either)
- command prompt (tried sfc/scannow and they won't allow me to do so unless I restart but keeps getting same error.
Tried unplugging the hard disc etc but same old loop again.
