Here is the problem I have experienced for the on-screen keyboard (with or without tablet mode),
- When the on-screen keyboard comes up, the windows will not automatically resize to make way. The Keyboard will end up covering the window. (In Windows 8.1, all windows will resize.) (In Windows 10, only Store App and Microsoft Edge knows how to resize.)
My computer used to go to lock screen after a while, but has stopped recently. I can't find out where the setting is that adjusts this. When I poke around in lock screen settings (personalization > lock screen> screen timeout settings) I can indeed make the screen turn off after a period of time, but it doesn't go to the lock screen. If I wake up the computer it just goes back to the desktop. What am I missing?
View 1 RepliesI upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7; the image that is displayed has never fit the size of the monitor (technically it's a TV, but whatever). I always would use Nvidia Control Panel to resize the image to fit the monitor, but it wasn't updated for Windows 10 (or 8 for that matter), so there is about an inch border of the screen that I can't see. I have a Nvidia GTS 450 graphics card. I was wondering if there is some way that I could resize the image or not. I also tried to go under display settings, but for whatever reason, the section where I can change the resolution is greyed out.

I upgraded to Windows 10. The entire screen shows up in about 75% of my monitor with the rest black. It's not that the fonts are too small, it's just that it makes my monitor look a lot smaller and I cannot seem to get it to fill up the entire monitor like Windows 8.

I've recently found there are several ways to "lock" the screen on Windows 10 Pc (like using Windows+L).I also remember to read somewhere that usin lock screen reduces the lifetime of the ssd.I would like to know:

When I log in, I want to go directly to the start screen rather than the desktop and having to click the windows icon/button.I have tried right clicking on the taskbar->properties->Navigation Tab and the only option there is the option to replace command prompt with windows powershell.

My laptop recently got hanged, then I restarted the laptop. But right from the booting Windows 10 screen, a music is being played in background.

I just updated my pc to windows 10.when i am playing game like CS:GO and GTAV from steam, every time i quitting the game or minimizing it. my whole PC crashing, the screen goes black and the fans starting to make weird sounds. and then after 10 secs its restarting and coming back to the normal windows (no safe mod etc).my specs are i7 4790 8GB ram gtx 780.

View 4 RepliesI am unable to resize windows in Windows 10. My only two choices seem to be to make the window full size, or to minimize it. The middle of the three buttons in the right hand corner does not work. I also do not get the little arrows at the edge of each window that enable one to resize.
View 3 RepliesI regularly print pages from a website, & with IE I was able to re-size the document to 95%, 85% etc to use less paper. I can't do this with Microsoft Edge-it doesn't give me any options to re-size the document for printing? Is there an option I am missing?

View 4 RepliesSince upgrading to Win 10, I have a couple of issues. Note Pad...it fills the entire screen and it won't resize. Whole screen or minimized....that's the extent of Note Pad. The calculator is the same...full screen only. I worked around that by downloading the win 7 calculator.

When I open the on screen keyboard on my Asus VivoTab 8 with my stylus it opens the "writing box" rather than the actual keyboard. Obviously this writing box isn't very useful because it's inaccurate and you can't really write more than one word at a time. My question is, how do I make the keyboard pop up by default? It's extremely annoying always having to switch to the keyboard manually.
edit And is there any way to make the keyboard semi-transparent so it doesn't block half the screen? To me this seems like an obvious feature that any on screen keyboard should have.
I downloaded Windows 10 on release and despite its flaws, I actually like it.
I am finding an issue with Explorer though. I've noticed that the preview image icon for folders doesn't resize itself to fit within the folder preview section, so if the image I want to show as a preview on that folder icon is tiny, it'll show as being tiny in the preview with loads of blank space around it, for larger images it does seem to fit in, though if the image is longer than it is wide than it'll cut the bottom bit off. This wasn't the case in previous versions of Windows and I presume it can be tweaked in the registry.
I'm using a 4K monitor and Microsoft have improved the scaling in this OS, but it's still not exactly brilliant. Third party software is the main culprit tbf.
Every Time I try and "Save" a KS Writer Doc' the "Save to Folder" that opens Has Just Got Bigger and Now it s "Sized itself" to Nearly Full Screen Size and I cannot Size it Or Move It > Eg > I Right Click on Top of the Folder > Drop Down Menu Say s > Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize or Close, I cannot Re Size the "Folder Perimeter" Nothing Happen.

Yet when I change to the keyboard, the next time I click in a text box, the handwriting panel appears again!

(i.e. Start-key + left moves the window to the left half of your screen;
Start-key + right moves the window to the right half of your screen;
Start-key + up maximizes the window to the full screen;
Start-key + down minimizes the window to the taskbar)

View 2 RepliesJust upgraded (via Windows Update) from Win 7 Pro to Windows 10.Upgrade generally went smoothly, but....My PC now shuts down very slowly and oddly. The screen and keyboard turn off normally, in a few seconds, but the system box (fans, etc.) remain on for about 2-3 minutes longer. What the system is doing while this is going on!
