One Letter Not Working On Keyboard?
Mar 30, 2016
I have one key working only when held down long enough (when it starts to spray that letter). Not an hardware problem.
Estonian keyboard layout. English keyboard layout works fine. Finnish keyboard layout has different key not working.
On-screen keyboard has same problem.
Problem started just one day. Before was fine. I have tried some malware scans, registry fixes, safe mode, keyboard driver reinstall, other keyboard.
Where could this problem be located? Registry? Someone in internet thinks its malware. I dont think I installed something new previous to that problem.

So I installed Windows 10 and my keyboard has been rendered useless. I chose to jump the queue as it were (rather than wait for the on-screen notification) - not sure if that's relevant. The keyboard is made my a Chinese company called E-Elements. It's a mechanical keyboard with RGB lighting URL...
The RGB lighting works perfectly fine (but then it would because it's just being powered via USB) - the problem is that none of the keys are working. The NUM LOCK and CAPS LOCK LED indicator also isn't working. I tried a different keyboard (non-mechanical) and that works fine, so thought the keyboard itself was the issue. I then plugged it into my PS4 and it works fine. I then booted my PC in BIOS and weirdly it also works fine in BIOS, so it's definitely an issue with the keyboard communicating with W10 or W10 communicating with the keyboard.
Another thing I should probably mention is that when I installed W10, I didn't do a clean install, I chose to keep my files and settings. I have since, however, reinstalled W10 as a clean install as I had backed everything up anyway - it still didn't work. Somebody suggested simply reverting back to W7, but I have now lost that option since I have reinstalled W10 a second time.
I have also checked Device Manager for any USB devices with an exclamation mark, and reinstalled several drivers. Weirdly, the device manager does actually recognise it as a keyboard.

I have a Anitech P201RU keyboard and when I boot my PC the keyboard works fine until the login screen. I have tried turning on legacy in bios and turning it off and tried uninstalling the drivers. What I noticed is that when I go into device manager it shows a exclamation mark next to the usb composite device.

Recently installed my new A10-6800K CPU, worked perfectly. checked my system information to make sure everything was at the versions they needed to be, noticed that the MoBo (gigabyte f2a68hm-hd2) version was from 2014 so i updated it to the latest version but delayed when it asked me to restart. everything carried on as normal
got back from work, turned it on. bam,
"BOOTMGR is Missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"
I tried pressing them on wireless keyboard - it didnt work. tried it on my wired keyboard - didn't work.
I tried putting the windows installation disk in and restarting it - didnt work.
I think it was the MoBo update that did it...
Specs:
Windows 10
Gigabyte F2A68HM-HD2 Motherboard
8GB DDR3 1600mhz RAM
1tb Seagate Barracuda Sata
A10-6800K
EVGA GeForce GTX 750ti
Unplugged internal HDD and put the installation iso on an ext. HDD.. manages to get onto installation part (it complains that it cant install it on my ext. hard drive)

My PC was working fine until today. Now when I boot up the lights on my razor keyboard illuminate but when it gets past the bios the lights turn off.
When the login screen for w10 comes up I can't login because both the keyboard and mouse are not responding.
They work fine in the bios. I am using a custom built PC (a88x-gamer MOBO) and a corsair m65 mouse with a razer black window 2015 keyboard and running Windows 10.

I've had a series of problems with Windows 10. Latest (last couple of weeks) Thunderbird and all browers have been gradually getting worse and worse. I decided to restore the system this morning but I get stopped every time by a screen where I am to select a keyboard to use. This is where both the mouse and keyboard don't work.

On my main Windows 10 machine my mechanical keyboard has suddenly stopped working. The keyboard itself works perfectly fine on my other systems and laptops but seems to not work on my main one. The keyboard works on the bios screen and any other part of the start up except from the login screen which is when it seems to completely stop responding. Buttons such as caps lock and also the num-lock stop lighting up the LED's and no keys seem to work. The computer recognizes other keyboards, which is how I'm writing this post, but it seems that my expensive mechanical doesn't work on this specific machine.
The keyboard itself is one that only requires the HID Interface, so you just plug it in and it works and I've even tried uninstalling all keyboard drivers but this is still no dice. I'm not really quite sure what to do, seeing as the keyboard only seems to go wrong on this machine, and other keyboards work fine,

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop. It kept prompting me to upgrade to Windows 10, so I did so. Now the button that disables my touchpad (also the F5 button) is not working. The touchpad will not turn off.
Secondly, when I try to move the cursor, the "right click" menu pops up wherever the cursor lands, and it will not let me type. I have to use an external mouse to click out of the menu, then put the cursor back where I wanted it to land.
How can I make the disable button on my keyboard work again, and how can I fix the mouse so that the right click menu only comes up if I actually right click?

Just upgraded to Win 10 this morning, everything was smooth except for one thing: my Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and mouse stopped working. Looks like there's an error with the Broadcom Bluetooth USB driver, which is already the latest and greatest according to Windows, which obviously it ain't. Where to get working drivers? Surprisingly there's nothing about Windows 10 on Broadcom's site??

My mouse and keyboard were doing fine with Windows 7, but after I upgraded to Windows 10, my wired mouse and keyboard have been prone to just randomly stop working for a few seconds before working again. When it happens to my keyboard, what key I had been pressing would be typing over and over again, while my mouse is stuck in place (screen is not frozen, videos keep playing, etc). In addition with the windows 10 upgrade, I also got a new graphics card at the same time, but I don't think a graphics/video card could be responsible for this kind of thing, right?
Hardware Information:
Mouse: Corsair Raptor m40
Keyboard: CM Storm QuickFire Rapid
Graphics Card: Sapphire Dual-X R9 270
I have no viruses/malware, and when I go to the devices manager and try to update the "HID-Compliant Mouse" driver online, it seems like it's the recent driver. Same for the keyboard. Therefore, I'm leaning to the Windows 10 to be the culprit, but I'm not too sure.
