View 1 RepliesI was wondering whether it were possible to open the volume mixer instead of the volume control when left-clicking on the volume icon in the tray. At the moment I have it set to open the old classic menu, but not the volume mixer.
View 9 RepliesSince a few day when I click on the right lower sound volume/mixer, nothing happens anymore, no popup, no right click menu.
View 4 RepliesOn my headphone all works fine, but the sound through the integrated speakers is much lower. With some movies I can put the sound up to max and still its not loud enough.
View 3 Repliesmy game volume and my chat volume are mixed so that when I turn up my chat volume, my game volume also turns up. when I turn up my game volume, it doesn't turn it up, but when I turn up my chat volume, it turns up both my game and chat volume. How can I fix it so that my game volume and chat volume are different?

Is there any option in Wndows 10 to make system remember that I prefer fullscreen windows from the start?
I have screwed up my default open folder with.. it all started by trying to set the default console to powershell, I have been messing around with registry settings but in the end I failed to set it up.. then I went and double clicked a folder to open it and discovered that the default double click option was "open with visual code", that is when I started to dig around in registry again.. and removed visual code from being the default but somehow ended up screwing even more my default open, I can now only open my folders by right clicking on them and open in a new window..
if I double click them I get the following error message "windows cannot access the specified device path or file you may not have appropriate permissions"
I'm used to working with quite a few libraries in W8.1 and would like file explorer in W10 to directly go to the libraries view if possible rather than the 'quick access' screen.

View 3 RepliesI reinstalled my Office 2007 programs back on my computer after updating to Windows 10. The only problem I am having is that Outlook won't open the default browser (IE11) when a link is clicked. Instead, it pops up a box that asks me what I want to use to open and , even if I select IE as the app and check the box that says always use this app, it doesn't "remember". I've set IE as the default browser, both in Outlook and as the default browser in Control Panel. Anything else I can do to make it open link with IE instead of Edge?
View 5 RepliesI'm using W10 and have Edge as the default browser (I also use Chrome and Firefox). Some programs are automatically opening in Internet Explorer such as when I open Google+ photos or when software updates and shows what has changed on its website. how to change this so it all opens up in Edge?
View 5 RepliesExcuse me if this has been asked before, I have a weird issue in This Computer. When I double-click a hard drive or other device, it tries to launch some unknown deleted application and fails with an error message (see below). If I right-click on the drive, I see that "cmd" is default instead of Open and I can proceed if I select Open. This issue occurs only in This Computer. Clicking any other folder on the desktop or elsewhere opens as expected. Could it be a malware? I'm now scanning with Malwarebytes Antimalware just in case.
View 1 RepliesIs it possible to have the start menu open with all apps as default?
View 5 RepliesSay I set MPV as the default media player. For ALL media types. Then I go into my music library via file explorer and double-click an mp3. It will ask me which app I want to open it in "or keep using MPV".
Even though there's a "Always open using this app" checkbox, it doesn't listen to it and if I shut my computer down or even just log out, it completely resets that open with dialogue... so if I go to double-click an MP3 again, it pops up.
I've double-checked that MPV has control over it's mime types in the control panel (not just the Settings app), and like I said it asks if I want to "keep using MPV". And that's just one example, it does it with my web browser more often than my media player.
I made the upgrade to windows 10 and am getting annoyed because I am unable to use my chrome browser as default. I have it set as default, but it still won't launch or open at all. I can search using google, but can't get chrome to launch? Ready to go back to windows 8 already.
View 1 Repliestoday i have updated from W7 to W10 on my Lenovo Z580. Now I can not open settings and Windows10 apps like Calendar, Edge,... (and calculator as well - "Explorer.exe element not found"). Tried Emerging Issue 67758 fix but it didnt find any issue.
View 5 RepliesI just did a clean win10 install yesterday, everything works fine except for my audio sound volume. My device is compatible, it works just fine under Windows 8.1 but its way too small compared from my Windows 10 now.
View 1 RepliesHow can one reduce the volume (without effecting the volume of other sounds) of the sound playing when messages occur like this one at the bottom right side?
Using the sound mixer (or whatever it is called) does not work, the "Systemsounds" slider (set to "0") does not effect the volume of that messages:
So when i play music on Spotify while playing a game, my volume randomly goes up and down, It only stops if i mute all of the sounds of the game, i've looked and looked in all the settings, changed the communications tab to "do nothing" and it still wants to change my volume.
View 1 Repliesmy laptop's volume simply isnt as loud as it is supposed to be, or has been in the past. all settings/ controls that i can find are turned to 100 percent. And i dont mean that i want it louder than 100%, im saying that the 100% that its on sounds like what should be 50-60%. I know that it has been able to be a good deal louder in the past. So i dont know whats wrong. I am in the military and have been away from my laptop for about 3 months, but everything seems to be up to date. It is to the point where its just not loud enough to enjoy/ use to play games or watch videos. And same thing for when i plug my headphones in, it isnt loud enough then either, sounds like what should be 50 or 60%. My laptop is an msi ge72 apache pro, and runs windows 10.
View 1 RepliesI know how to silence / turn off Win10 Notifications, but I kinda like them ... I just don't want that chime blasting out at a thousand decibels every time I get an email.
I have the master / system volume set at the level I want it for all my normal uses, but I consider the Notification chime to by annoyingly loud ... I still want a chime, but I want it to be very low key.
When I googled 'win10 notification volume' all I could find were instructions to silence it or turn it off, but nothing about adjusting the volume of the chime itself without changing the master volume.
If you press Volume UP + Volume DOWN 3 times, the screen of your device will flash in black.
If done In the phone, it will vibrate 3 times before the flashing;
If done in PC, the opened windows will be rearranged to completely appear in the screen, just like when you change resolution. The mouse pointer will also be centered.

After:
For PC, it can bring back windows or dialogs that might be placed out of the screen.
For phone, I didn't find something useful for that yet.
Two weeks ago when I downloaded and updated to windows 10 I've been having some problems, mainly with sound. For example, in chrome if im watching a video and then pause it and then come back after a while, the volume is extremely high and the moment I decrease/increase it it goes back to the original volume level. I'm using the Realtek High Definition Speakers through my playback device and I've tried reinstalling/uninstalling audio drivers, tweaking playback device setting properties, etc. but none of them seem to work for me and the problem still persists. Not only that but the audio seems to sound really weird compared to when I had windows 8 when its on speakers and not on headsets/headphones.
I even asked my friend who had the same computer (Asus ROG G750 JX) and he said he had the EXACT same problem after upgrading to windows 10,I have even downloaded the new audio drivers from URL... that was on 8/25 and the volume still fluctuates every time i pause a youtube vid.
It was there yesterday and now it is missing, along with the battery icon. When I go to the properties panel those options are grayed out. Did i accidentally change a setting or something? Never had these problems with win 7 pro.
View 3 RepliesI can't activate the power and volume icon because there gray. I've tried the regedit method. The icons came back but disappeared at the next booth. Is there a fix to that problem?
