when I was using windows 7 and outlook.com I had it set to send me a notification every morning with the day's events.
Now I have upgraded to Windows 10 this notification has stopped. What I can do to get it back.
Just had computer upgraded and went with windows 8 , , , weeks later windows 10 . now outlook 2013 will receive but not send emails ??? to clarify , it sent emails for couple of days fine

View 3 RepliesSince upgrading to Win 10 last week, I have not been able to send emails from Gmail in Outlook 2013.
It was fine in Win 8.1.
My email settings are
IMAP
Outgoing server requires authentication - is ticked
Incoming = 993 with SSL
Outgoing = 587 with TLS
All other setting as normal. When I run a test it comes back as good and will receive emails, but nothing will send.
I upgraded to windows 10 and outlook isnt sending emails. It isnt an issue with our ISP this has been checked. This is really difficult as I need outlook for work!
View 3 RepliesIn Outlook, I rely on the auto fill when typing an email address. usually, the name fills in after typing one or two letters. Since upgrading to windows 10, this feature no longer works. Although the list of correct email addresses appears, when I click on it, it no longer fills in the name and I have to completely retype the email address.

I've run the troubleshooter, but still my nicely functioning Windows 10 has one kink -- daily updates download, but then during the required restart, the installation fails and the update is not operational. The restarts take forever, sometimes rolling through the restart process 3 times, before the failure message appears. Win 10 and the computer continue to function well, but without the daily updates, that won't last.

I use a laptop with an external monitor, generally as a desktop setup with external mouse and keyboard, keeping laptop lid closed.
The taskbar disappears on a daily basis. I rarely shutdown my computer, the way I get it back is to restart Windows Explorer from task manager.
Have an office computer which bluescreens daily after a certain period of time, but then is fine for the rest of the working day.
BSOD shows CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION,
and bluescreenview shows plenty of ntoskrnl.exe+ 14e2a0
I'm sure its relating to a driver but how to go about finding out which one is most likely at fault. Is there a website I can dump one of the DM log files into and have it bring up a list of outdated drivers?
Using as an IT support/general office machine. Get BSOD 4-6 times daily.
As yet to determine what is causing. Have been removing software after each BSOD.
Win 10 Pro on Dell OptiPlex 380. Upgraded to 8gb mem and SSD.

daily Windows Defender asks to scan my computer and nags the hell out of me about it. How can I reduce this to say once a week instead?
View 4 RepliesMy computer has since for as long as I remember experiencing bsod crashes at varying frequencies. I have previously searched online for this twice, but without any success. The error messages in on bsod vary a lot, but I think all that information is in the attached file. And I don't think there's much more to say about it.
View 9 RepliesMy problem is very similar to one described by tomzino earlier this month in this forum. Since upgrading from windows 7 home premium to windows 10, my computer gets a BSOD and reboots daily; so far in November it has crashed 20 times. The only days it didn't, the system was powered down. The error message is the 'bad pool header' . Oddly, 85% of the BSODs have occurred between 12:12pm and 12:43pm EST. I ran the DM Log collector to gather the information from the last two crashes for diagnosis.
View 7 RepliesDaily is the name given to the new replacement for Mozilla Thunderbird. It often has daily updates, and the one today (08 Jan 2016) causes it to lose all email settings. As a result, when it start is shows no existing email, no email account, and looks like you are starting with a fresh install of a new email client.
To get around this I downloaded and installed the latest version of Thunderbird (38.5.1) and this did show all my email OK. So something bad happened to Daily - hopefully whoever it is who controls that software will fix it tomorrow.
I used XP for almost fourteen years without a problem. Now that I have windows10 I haven't been able to add pictures to exist8ing cd's. No problems with data or music. I also cannot view the picture CD's. I double click burn to disc but nothing happens. I get a list but no way to view it. I get a notice,these files are ready....etc. but when I click on a folder to transfer new contents...nothing happens. I'm at a loss on how to procede.

And, I`ve set up my NUC as a file server with a 1TB external hard drive, and I have shared the two partitions over the network, but when my stepdad is gonna access some of his files he get a message that the owner of the server needs to give him rights or something. Use live essential mail as my email and have it set as default and set to be in notification area. Do not receive any notifications in my live tile or in notification area, unless I open it and minimize it to my task bar. Why doesn't my live tile work?

View 3 RepliesI'm seeing random email sent from the app go from the outbox to literally NOWHERE!! it's not in sent and it DOES NOT reach who I sent it to .. it somehow disappears into a black hole from the outbox
if you're reply or sending something important, you currently CANNOT guarantee it's working correctly - unless you keep checking the sent folder.
With Windows 10, I only want to use the default mail application, I don't want to have to use the desktop Outlook version. But I use Word a lot and have to send a lot of documents as attachment, so with Outlook for desktop I used the share > E-mail function. Now with the default e-mail app as a default mailing program, I get the error "there is no email program associated to perform the requested action" and after that "Word couldn't send mail because of MAPI failure".
Any solution to make the desktop version of Word work with the default mail application? Word Mobile can already send e-mails using the default mail app, but then again, you need an office 365 subscription to even use Word Mobile...
My OS is Windows 10. I have been using MS Office Outlook for my email. I've used it for years. A few weeks ago I decided to try gmail so I set up an account. I did not give anyone my gmail address but for some reason I started to get a lot of my email from friends who have my Outlook address. I even got some of the junk mail on gmail. I then shut down my gmail account as I don't like it. Then I noticed that I wasn't getting much email. So I opened my gmail account and there were dozens of email messages there. Here's my problem. I want to close my gmail account but then I'll miss all of the messages that will go there. My question is. How can I stop messages from going to the gmail?
View 6 RepliesI am set up to start up without having to log in. but every time I start the laptop after about 5-10 minutes I get a notification asking me to 'click here to enter your most recent credentials, your microsoft account needs you to sign in again. If I click as it asks it takes me to Settings - mail and accounts which reveal that I am signed in. It makes no difference to my mail account whether i click or not as I can access the mail app and the store and anything else that needs a Microsoft account without problem. I am assuming that an update a few weeks ago caused this. It has no effect on the machine and if I click the notification and get the settings page all I have to do is close the settings app and the notification goes away until the next time I start up.
View 11 RepliesFor me, the notifications on my desktop only show mails, system notifications and nothing else. No other app uses the notification system, while they could (for example skype, viber, games and so on).The notification system is another failing feature or we hope to be improved?
And secondly is the expand button, where you can press the little arrow and it will show you 50 more characters of the message/mail you got. it is obvious that this doesn't work, if you have used it you know: if it is an email, you want to read it all, or you want to mark it as read, or you want to reply, but you cannot do it through the expand button, so it is useless. On w10m you can answer an SMS from the notification bar after pressing the expand button, which is great! But why not any other app uses that feature? Is the expand button another failing feature or we hope to be improved and used by other apps??
